i have recently been in contact with jamal al-dahdouh, a sweet young man from the gaza strip. he is the oldest child in a family of six, with ages ranging from 18 to 4 years old, and they have been living in a tent since an airstrike destroyed their house. recently, there was a bombing near jamal’s tent, which destroyed it, too. the situation is critical, and he has reached out to me to spread his campaign. i’m helping him, but i alone am not enough. i urge you to share his campaign if you can’t donate, and to donate whatever you’re able when you can. no one reading this is powerless to help someone who desperately needs it.
in his words:
I am not asking for much — I only want a chance to live, a chance to continue my education, to get medical treatment, and to protect the remaining members of my family. That is why I appeal to kind-hearted people to extend a helping hand. Your donation, no matter how small, could be the reason save our lifes.

People put so much into seeing Stonewall as this symbol. And at the time we just thought, ‘Oh, I guess it’s just that time of the month when cops raid the bar, so they can make their numbers for arresting fags for the month of June.’ But people get so concerned about the details. I don’t know about all the crap I’ve heard all these years. Sometimes it’s ‘Oh, someone threw a high-heel shoe.’ Sometimes it’s ‘No, gurl, it was a Molotov cocktail,’ or ‘Somebody slugged a cop.’ All I know is that night, they came in, and nobody budged. I guess we were just sick of their shit. And suddenly we were fighting, and we were kicking their ass. The cops had to back up into the bar. We had them cornered. Next thing you knew, the riot squad was there, and baby, it was on. ‘The night of Stonewall’ is how people talk about it, but it was more like a week. People want to know the little details, but what I remember most is being scared as hell. We were fighting for our lives. They’re still killing us; they’re still not giving us the respect we’re due for putting up with their shit all these years. I’m giving you the facts about how shit’s been from the beginning, and what’s gone on, how the law was in our daily lives—the facts! And so with regard to that producer lady, the whole time I just thought to myself, ‘There’s gonna be so much of me on the cutting-room floor.’

It's Juneteenth, I'm a Black Texan, descendant of enslaved Black Texans. Texas is the only state that fought two different wars to protect slavery and chattel slavery ended the last for it. Juneteenth to me is to celebrate that part of overt white supremacy coming to an end, but it was not the end of white supremacy. It did not stop, with the lynching, the police violence, the redlining, the environmental racism, the segregation. Juneteenth represents a good win aganist the fight against white supremacy, but it's not over.
And for this Juneteenth, I ask for help for my friends that are the victims of this same US white supremacy. Not just today, but everyday Gazans deserve any type of help that you can give them. The technology that is used to segregate and attack and police and destroy Palestinians is the same technology that is sold to Texas to be used for the border patrol and to harass and control immigrants and border communities. This is one, connected fight aganist white supremacy and US control and destruction of Black and Brown bodies. So I ask today if you could donate this, or share, to help provide for a mother and her 2 now fatherless children in Gaza, or anyone else in Gaza who needs help. Like this family with a sick baby. Just do something, especially if you got the day off.

Ok so I have officially made my wip-centric blog @returntooz1985 --as of right now it's all stuff for my one project, The Other Daughter, but I will eventually use it for my other ongoing stories as well + am working on a tags directory to help keep track of everything; I'll make that the pinned post once I have it ready.
I linked all the pinterest boards for each of my wips in this post but i will also work on writing up brief summaries of them all & will update this when i have those done. 😅

from bushnell to madleen, people love assuming what a political action was supposed to achieve and calling it ineffective, when it doesnt meet their unrealistic star wars rebells ass standards. listen to the people doing it! the flotilla crew has been asking the nationals of their home countries to reach out to their governments over and over. the action is us. when someone self-immolates, when someone goes on a hunger strike, when someone chains themselves to the doors of an embassy, they know theyll be smeared, jailed, their memory disrespected. its a call to everybody else, everybody who sees to act. one person or even a dozen are not going to stop the iof, no one expects that. those acts get other people involved, it gets their states and politicians involved. its building political pressure and if the states dont act to protect their citizens, it builds international pressure on those states.

greta was time's person of the year a few years ago. she was adored by all liberal world leaders and parties. and when she learnt about people's struggle under occupation and colonialism, she stood in solidarity with them . she now stands with palestine and armenia and kashmir and every oppressed person in the world. she could have been rich as fuck by simply remaining as a climate activist. yet she chose to do the right thing. i love her for her integrity.
