I had to search up what Picaresque means, because I have only ever heard this word once: when I asked my literature class teacher about the term "Picaro" (persona 5).

I'm cooked, I think? I am rough and dishonest and episodic but I would be an incredibly unappealing hero unless they shoved me into an Evil Plotline.

I'm either worse or better than before, but I think ultimately I survive because death is impermanent.

I keep forgetting about the Durante mechanics (I have only ever used them for the final boss of Can8 because, again I am bad at this game), so I'll see if Morositas or whatever it's called can help.
