Also going off my last post i think a lot of fandom discourse/infighting would be solved by understanding basically all the characters are flawed and messed up in their own ways.

Whether it’s as extreme as some who actively promotes and starts the violence, rituals and manipulation.

Or the ones who quietly feast and give into their “inner wilderness.”

And even the ones who were just mean, selfish, avoidant and prone to pride.

All of the major characters are flawed individuals who have their set of issues to be addressed and understood and that’s what i really appreciate about Yellowjackets — no censoring of their true depravity or who they become in a terrifying situation.

When people defend misty by saying the black box just records the flight and doesn’t track it so therefore it’s not her fault they’re stuck it makes me laugh, it’s about her intent not whether or not it really did anything.

They’re not stranded there because of her but she certainly was trying to get them stuck there because she yearns for people to depend on her and like her — to see her value that they previously discarded.

the yellowjackets are in a deadbeat parent-off

one of the best decisions yellowjackets has ever made is reverting the women back into girls at their most vulnerable moments. shauna when she kills adam, nat laying her head in lottie's lap, misty seeing young natalie in the mirror, misty in the morgue seeing lottie because this truly hammers home that their lives stopped the moment that plane went down and that no matter how much time has passed by, they're still those teenage girls who were on their way to their football game and lost 19 months of their lives trying to survive.

thoughts on travlot;

When i say i enjoy travlot, i don’t mean it romantically. I mean it beyond that and more so in a sense that their dynamic as a whole is extremely interesting.

I don’t ship them, but i feel as if they’re integral to eachother and the travnat/lottienat/tnl situation as a whole.

Lottie and Nat being physical manifestations of his inner turmoil and struggle with spirituality vs pragmatism.

A dynamic that could be referred to as a goddess and her pitiful follower—not romantic or siblings or platonic but a fourth thing that makes you feel uneasy yet curious.

I think the fact that the dynamic makes me feel uncomfortable and unsure is what i like about it so much, understanding complex relationship dynamics without shipping discourse clouding your judgement is important.
