The Cleons storyline this season is pure comedy: on one hand, we have Dawn on his usual quest for individuality through his YA-style subplots of impossible romances, this time utterly smitten with Gaal who’s basically using everything Hari ever taught her to win him over and throws tantrums whenever he can’t get what his three-hundred-year-old hologram crush asked him to do. Then there’s Day completely surrendered to his vices totally in his nihilistic Dudebro era trying to live a normal life with his girlfriend who turns out to be a robot fanatic and while these two are torn between existential crises and romantic ups and downs, Dusk is just out there inventing a weapon that could destroy the entire universe like a Marvel supervillian like bro, they’re basically a sitcom right now.
