watched Alexander Nevsky last night finally (had a weird week.) and it really is crazy how like every single other movie with this sort of combat in it is copying this guy's homework

imagine if they gendered you from birth and then assigned you a list of interests and personality traits even if that felt horrifically untrue for you and you hated when people did that for as long as you could remember but every time you complained about it people got confused

In 1968 Vasily Livanov made a guest performance as Vadim Gejman in the famous East German anti war movie “Ich war neunzehn” (“I was nineteen”) He played a gentle and sensitive Captain of the Soviet Army at the end of the Second World War during the liberation of Germany.
Incidentally the actor’s distinctive husky, hoarse voice is the result of the physically very demanding filming of the movie “The Unsent Letter” in 1960, during which he constantly had to scream for help at about 40 degrees below zero in the tundra. As a result Liwanov lost his voice, and after a fortnight it returned with that timbre.
