This right here is my little sister Avalea, Ava for short. She was born February 23rd, 2006, when I was 28 years old. To say that I wasn’t shocked to become a big brother again at almost 30 would be a lie, but it didn’t make me love them any less. She was the most beautiful baby I had ever laid eyes on, and I vowed to protect them with my life. 

I didn’t do that. When she was 3, I got the role of Captain America, and the day I started preproduction also marks the day I disappeared from their life completely. 

I completely lost touch with her. Even when I was in front of them, I wasn’t present. I wasn’t the brother they needed, more importantly, I wasn’t the brother she deserved. Even during quarantine when I was just down the road, I never made an effort to see them and rationalized it by telling myself it was to keep her and her immune system that isn’t as strong as mine safe.

A week ago, I had just finished filming Ghosted, and was getting ready to fly to Orlando for a family vacation, and see my little sister for the first time in over 2 years. Then, my flight was cancelled. A little annoying, but nothing that my Ma couldn’t solve. It was decided I would ride down with her, Ava and Scott. 

I felt instant guilt when I saw her again. They’d grown so much, and I’d missed it. She wasn’t the toddler I’d left behind, they were a teenager. A beautiful 16 year old who barely knew me. No longer was she the sweet little 6 month old that I took to L.A. during preproduction for Silver Surfer, and bought her too many designer clothes and she definitely wouldn’t look at Tigger like he was nuts when we went to Disneyland on that trip. 

I knew I’d fucked up big time, but I didn’t know how to fix it. I thought that if I was just myself, everything would be fine, so I did just that. 

What I didn’t realize was in my “being myself” I was sending her into sensory overload, and then a meltdown. 

One of the most important things I missed in my years without her was that they have ADHD and are possibly autistic. Ma mentioned it to me a few times, but it flew over my head that was preoccupied with everything but my baby sister who needed me. We were in the hotel room in Nashville a few nights ago, and I was trying to make her laugh. I had been messing around with Scott, and decided to poke them to coax out a smile. 

It had the opposite effect. They were immediately sent into a meltdown, all because of my absence, ignorance, and attempt to make her happy. Being absent, I’d never seen her meltdowns and shut downs, and I won’t say that it wasn’t a shock when they kicked and pushed Scott away. 

Ma came in a moment later and took over, and all I could do to help was hand her their weighted blanket. I felt useless, but what made me feel

like the worst human in the world was when Ma asked her to say thank you to me for the blanket in an attempt to calm her down and get her breathing in check. She shook her head, and said no. When Ma asked her why they said “because he doesn’t like me. He’s never wanted to spend time with me and he probably hates me so why should I say thank you when it won’t mean anything to him?” 

I knew instantly I’d messed up beyond repair. I’d made them think I hated them. That I didn’t care, that I didn’t want to spend time with them, when that was far from the truth. 

My sweet, sweet, Avabug. I love you more than anything. When I see you, my heart explodes with love for you. You and I used to be best buddies. You were my baby girl. I’m not a dad, I don’t know if I will ever be a dad, but you made me feel like one. I’d never felt such happiness and love before you, and I haven’t experienced it with anyone else but you. I completely failed you sweetheart. I made you feel worthless and unloved. I made you think I hated you, when that was far from the truth.  You are my entire world. You always have been. I wish that you could read my mind because if yoj did, you’d be able to see and hear everything. Even when I was absent, I never stopped loving you. I never stopped rooting for you. I was here, separated from you, but waiting for those messages from Ma, Carly, Shanna, and Scott telling me that you won your dance competition. I was on the other side of the world, trying to compose a happy birthday message to you, but failing because I didn’t have the words. Because I didn’t know you. I am so sorry for what I did, my darling. I’ve had so many chances to fix this and I haven’t, and for that I apologize. Just looking at you, sound asleep next to me, while I type this is making me wish I actually was Steve Rogers so I could go back in time and fix the mess I’ve made. I love you, my sweet Avalea. you’re my bubba, my sweetheart, my baby. I’m going to try and fix this, no matter what that takes. I love you, my sweet baby girl. 💙

my experience with sending a letter to my dr

last summer, i was feeling really discouraged with shifting. my mental health was really bad, and i barely had motivation. i wanted to shift so bad, but i could never bring myself to do it because of how exhausted i was.

i was on tiktok one day, and saw a tiktoker talking about how they were sending a letter to their s/o in their dr, and i decided to try it.

i don't remember what the letter said word for word, but i just poured my heart out to bucky and explained how i couldn't wait to come back and cuddle with him, and for him and i to visit with his sister again because she always makes me feel better.

i asked him for a sign. but here's the thing, i never specified what sign, just that i would know the sign when i saw it.

a few weeks later, i was on tiktok again, and saw someone writing letters from marvel characters. i was going to scroll past it, but something told me to watch it. i watched it, and the tiktoker revealed that they sold the letters, so i decided to see how much they were.

they were $5. with shipping, it was around $8. i decided to buy it, and didn't think of it too much, but i was excited to see what it would say.

i got the letter a few weeks later, and let me tell you, i cried when i read it.

this is what the letter said:

'dearest ava,

it feels like a lifetime, and i should have written you a thousand letters but i hope this one is enough. how are you?

i think of you and i feel joy. the past no longer haunts me in ways it sed to so please do not worry about me. i am peachy and there is peach in knowing my life will forever be wrapped up in yours. my only wish is that you find a taste of happiness that you have brought me, that even on your worst days you remember what it means to love, truly.

i told steve you were made for great things. after all, you did save my life once. if only he could see you now, the way you shine, he would be as proud as i am.

so take it easy, doll. this is not the end of the line for us. til we meet again.

while it's a sweet letter, the thing that stood out to me was the phrase "i am peachy."

ive spoken about this, but have never gone into detail. but in my dr, bucky is autistic. with the serum, and his past traumas, he has meltdowns quite often, and after his meltdowns, he needs comfort. we usually spend time sitting together, him wrapped up in my arms, and me telling him how much i love him and validating his feelings.

when we started dating, i used to tease him and call his ass a peach, because it was so cute and small. he hated it, but it made us laugh.

after one of his more rough ones (triggered by steve being mentioned to him by j*hn when bucky was having a bad day already), he was trying to climb into my lap, and wsa getting frustrated when he couldnt fit. he was completely non verbal and was sobbing.

i dont know why i said it, but i started rubbing his back and said "it's okay, my peach. i've got you'. as soon as i said it, he calmed down, and now i call him my peach or my peachy bug whenever he's upset.

the interesting thing about this is that when we're in public or around others and he's upset or overstimulated and needs to go home, he will say "i am feeling peachy" and its a code word for us.

as soon as i read that part, i knew that this was my sign from him, and that i needed to go back.

it motivated me so much, and sure enough, the morning after i arrived there, he had one of the worst meltdowns i'd ever seen.

hello!!! i'm always open to talking about shifting!

i have a few other posts about this under my #ava's a shifter tag, but here's a little basic info fro the 'shifting handbook' i made for my little brother (who made a dr where they just get to travel to places he wants to go?? so friggen smart)

we'll start of with some basic terminology:

DR: Desired Reality

CR: Current Reality

OR: Original Reality (means the same as CR)

Waiting Room: A place you can stop at before going to your DR so you have time to fully prep and feel ready.

onto the tips and such!

what is shifting?

Shifting is defined as the action of moving one’s consciousness awareness from this current reality (CR) to one’s desired reality (DR). Robert A. Monroe has cronicalled his experiences in his book “Journey’s Out of the Body”, and he mentions how after he switches his consciousness to his body there, he basically becomes this person. He regains his memories from that reality, and everything was physical-matter. Things there were identical to this reality. People had their own lives, family, and businesses. But instead, in that reality electricity and anything related were nonexistent.

Whenever Robert Monroe left, it was because he wanted to leave. He always returned back to this reality through the same way he arrived. I also took note of how time there seemed to pass as it should while he was back here. Whenever he returned to Locale III that reality’s version of himself was always doing something different. And in later shifts which he calls “intrusions”, there were some pretty big changes in his life there.

when are the best times to shift?

You can essentially shift at any given time. There are no rules surrounding shifting, especially when it comes to when you should and when you shouldn’t. 

that being said:

The full moon is one of the best times to shift. There are other times as well, such as the worm moon, the pink moon, the flower moon, the strawberry moon, the buck moon, the sturgeon moon, the corn moon, the harvest moon, the beaver moon, and the cold moon. The moon is very important to shifting because of energy. The more open and susceptible to energy (both giving and receiving) you are, the more likely you are to shift. The moon phases affect the earth’s energy, and the energy of you, and others. This is why tides are affected by certain moon phases, and children appear to be more ‘wired’ during the full moon phase. The earth is giving more energy, therefore, the receiver of this energy, a child for example, would be more open to receiving this energy.

Shifting Methods:

Shifting methods aren’t mandatory to shift, but it can help a great deal. It essentially takes the guessing out of shifting, and helps you recognize when you’re in your dr.

The Elevator Method

The Eleven Method

The Piano Method

The Intent Method

The Void State Method

The Valentino Method

*I won’t cover all of these, instead i will cover my two favourite methods.*

Valentino Method:

Read over your script (not mandatory, but a good habit to get into so that you can keep your dr the way YOU want it!). This can be done physically or mentally. 

Leave a note for your dr self on the bottom of your script. Do this whether you go over it physically or not. Doesn’t have to be specific, it can be for a friend or significant other in that reality that you want to remember!

Your mindset! Go into this with the mindset that you are a master shifter, and you’re the best shifter in the world, and that you have shifted to this dr before.  Manifestation works. 

Think about where you are going to wake up. (is it your room at the Avengers Compound? Is it your Hogwarts Dorm? Doesn’t have the be a bedroom, it can be a hospital bed, or a battlefield. Establish that beforehand, and focus on that. See it in your mind.)

Use your five senses, one at a time, and walk around where you plan to wake up.

Repeat until you fall asleep. (this can be hard, especially if you don’t feel tired enough. If you feel that way, start out with a 5 - 10 minute meditation)

The Void State Method:

**In order for this method to work, you must achieve the void state, which is a state in which you are pure consciousness. Basically, you are everything, and nothing at the same time.**

Set the intention of how you are going to shift once you enter the void (etc. you cna say “i am in my (name of dr) dr” and you will arrive there.

Lay in a comfortable position. This can be your stomach, back, or your side. Meditation is recommended, and Epsilon waves work wonders. 

Breathe in for four seconds and out for four seconds (doesn’t have to be exact)

Once there are no distractions, continue to affirm and take deep breaths. Affirm by saying “i am pure consciousness not attached to any reality.

You will know when you have entered the void state. Follow your gut feeling. Some of these symptoms include falling, zooming, and later floating, but these vary.

Once you’re there, carry out your intention from step one. I recommend using the 5 senses from the Valentino method.

Desires manifest almost instantly in the void state, so wait a few seconds, and then open your eyes once you’re sure you are in your dr, and your wake up scene will begin.

Crystals have many uses, and shifting is one of them!  Keep reading to find out which crystals help you shift, why they help you shift, and how to use them to your advantage.

Crystals that help with shifting:

Amethyst

Celestite

Moonstone

Moldavite

Black Tourmaline

Clear Quartz

Citrine

Selenite

Amethyst: Amethyst is amazing for anything spiritual or psychic. It also boosts your vibrations, and is one of the more essential crystals for shifting.

Celestite: Celestite paired with Amethyst is a shifting dream team. It also has high vibrations!

Moonstone: This one isn’t essential, but it offers calmness!

Moldavite: Moldavite is so incredibly powerful and spiritual. It can induce rapid change and can also help you shift realities. But I warn you—do not use Moldavite if you aren’t ready.

Black Tourmaline: Black Tourmaline offers protection. You don’t always know what awaits you in alternative realities (especially if your script isn’t detailed enough). Keep this stone nearby to protect you and bring you back to this reality if you need.

Clear Quartz: Clear Quartz is an amplifier stone. Add it to your shifting stones collection to raise their powers and let you access your alternate reality quicker.

Citrine: Citrine stimulates your imagination and is one of the best crystals for creativity. Citrine will help you script the reality you wish to shift into, and imagine it, increasing the chance of success.

Selenite: Selenite is the master cleanse and will cleanse any blockages you have. To shift, your chakras must all be open. Use Selenite to eliminate any blockages that may prevent you from successfully shifting.

Shifting Script:

*this is just the basic info you can include in your script if you choose. A shifting script is also not mandatory for shifting, but it enhances your experience, and makes it more personalized, and i feel that it makes me feel more connected to my dr. You can edit anything. Your height, weight, skin colour, hair colour, but be careful, you could hurt yourself mentally by making huge changes. You can also edit others around you. You can reverse a death, give yourself someone else’s powers, and change a timeline completely. But, remember: this is still a reality, and the people in that reality are very real. Don’t make any bad choices, such as a serial killer dr. Just don’t.*

when i was 6 months pregnant, my dad held a halloween party, and invited Tom Holland. we've known each other since 2016, but we haven't seen each other as much because of the pandemic, but we reconnected, and began to talk, and a few months later (when i was 8 months) we began dating!

When u shift are u asleep?

you can be! you can do awake methods or asleep methods, but i prefer to shift during the night because my body doesn't physically move (other than to go to the bathroom) and i can be fully present and available for my family in this reality! i made my cr=dr ratio one hour cr = one month dr so i can go for as little or as long as i'd like!

hey bestie im so sorry for answering this so late but its super easy!!

your body isn't actually leaving this reality, its just your consciousness awareness. your 'clone' (the body you leave behind) will still act like you and do the normal things you would do, and (from my knowledge) can even do extra things while you're gone if you script it in your clone commands.

im making a little 'guide to shifting' slideshow that im gonna put on my shifting account as well, which will go more in detail with it.

but basically its a lot of trial and error. there are methods that work for others that won't work for you, and vice versa, so i recommend trying the ones that interest you.

ignore what early shifttok said, you don't have to lie completely still, you don't have to be in a starfish position, and no one but YOU can decide when you leave your dr. you body will not 'fade.' Dr Strange or the TVA will not kick you out of your dr because you belong in that reality, you're just become aware of yourself IN that reality, if that makes sense??
