The largest Sword-fang vs the largest Short-tooth

Although not all accurate but at least an simple observation.. The largest Conical fanged cat (North American lion) vs the largest Sword-fanged cat (Knife Tooth Devastator). Both of them are the two extremes of the felidae family. Although smilodon’s got a crane for a neck and the American lion has larger rear legs which gives them a more “larger than life” impression although this is not the case; with both of their anatomy being incredibly different and function differently, especially Smilodon who was far more extreme than any “generic” conical toothed cat and was made purely for strength in order to compensate for their massive Sword-fangs. (not delicate like glass)

I’m also incredibly tired of seeing art or even toys of Sword-fangs with thin little pantherine legs along with those thin and straight torsos and added with banana fangs! It disgusts me and I don’t know why

Another Ailuros…

This time it’s more stylized… This is one is a small doodle of an ailuros praying to omnipotent God, asking for dear mercy. This is one of my favorite pieces, quite funny that a doodle can turn into something close to a masterpiece XD.

the ailuros are one of my favorite close-to sapient creatures that do “pop” in my head.

The ailuros..

(This is one of the more serious posts and a bit about the critter drawn on my pfp)

The ailuros are rather small in size are quite cat-like in terms of anatomy, they are a what some would call an “generic” brown mammal.

To me these lil fellas are no ways generic but rather special on the inside rather than out on the front, they share similarities such as basic behavior and anatomy but also differ from normal Earthen felid-like species one of these qualities are that they are peaceful in the fact that they do not go as far as to heavily compete with each other and would rather flee from larger creatures. They are omnivorous in diet feeding off of berries, fruits and small critters.

Another thing about is that their lifestyles are communal in the way that they live, living in these huge clans since they have many threats that ruled above their own heads so it is within them and important for them to be incredibly empathetic to other ailuros even going as far as to taking pets that flee into their own clans..

they are as or little more intelligent as creatures like orcas, ravens and elephants.. but besides that the ailuros have yet to reach the stage of true sapience but still retain their wild creature behavior such as fleeing and slightly basic language with only some meaning to their own tongues

they are quite soft little beings just only a little lighter than a housecat but also longer than one and their claws do not retract fully.

Human Hessonite

Weird input about Hessonite as a human When first seeing Hessonite, one could wonder that she could be head-cannoned to be more ancient in the human timeline than set in the modern era of Steven Universe if she were ever a human and not some space rock person. In particular her physical resemblance and her vibe felt more at home with Assyrian, Mesopotamian or a Sumerian queens or powerful women of the past, with women of those times being like that of the legendary and mythical Queen Semiramis who was a warrior just like Hess or the actual physical resemblance to Queen Puabi. - The armor’s design had some elements taken from Roman influences with that scale armor and belly ribbon that patrician Roman generals would’ve worn

Also fun fact a lot of Mesopotamian queens have those thick eyebrows and poofy hair as seen below with Queen Puabi. Much like Hessonite.

always felt like she was quite a masculine yet still was a feminine being at heart

a lil bit of a quartz soldier sketch

idk but this is also a WIP and it’s also yet again a Steven Universe cat AU. I can’t stop doing this lol, it’s quite fun to imagine the gems as animals or cats. Particularly quartzes are quite fun to design. the quartzes in this AU have a lot in common with long haired cats with breeds similar to the Norwegian forest cats or Maine coons, they’re just tough like those long furred breeds just built for the harshness of the weather on any planet that their race had conquered and controlled. Quartzes are described as being large, rowdy, playful and loyal class of gems and like soldiers they are designed to be incredibly durable, characteristics much like that of a big massive Maine Coon. Also their fluffiness and their big burly build is also an intimidation factor for lower class gems it’s helpful from stopping those gems from rebelling or other intimidate and subdue organic non-sapient lifeforms.
