All my posts have died and my health issues are still ongoing. The car accident also derailed my life again. Please help me out if you can. I'm a chronically ill (technically disabled now I guess) black lesbian and my partner is a disabled trans lesbian in the deep south. We both work despite our health issues (which probably exacerbates them tbh) but can't get our head above water bc I keep getting sicker. I've had to defer starting back school two semesters already bc of finances and health.
Rent is due, my car note is due, the gas will be off if not paid and it's been 30 degrees here. We need cat food and groceries and i need to get my meds.
I just need some stress taken off me y'all.
Here are my paylinks and a wishlist of helpful home items for us and our cats:

vnmo: Serena-Manning

*if u would like to pay a bill directly thru the web portal or order us a grocery delivery please DM me!

things have taken a really terrifying turn in sudan over the past few days. it's currently sudan action week to raise awareness to the war and the increasingly desperate situations of both sudanese citizens and refugees. some of the people to follow for updates and news about sudan on twitter (both in sudan and outside)

The idea of “gifted kids” is so fucked up and needs to be gotten rid of completely. No, it’s not redeemable, it’s not sustainable, it’s ableist and just all over shitty. Fuck that.

A lot of y'all can’t meaningfully attack transphobia and TERF ideology because you won’t acknowledge or directly attack the ableism and racism at its roots.
Like, I barely take any stock in what a hell of a lot of you consider “meaningful discourse” because white people are still placed in highest regard in your “communities”-especially non-disabled passing white trans people. Plenty of “big” trans people on here and different platforms are open racists and don’t give a flying fuck about ableism especially if it concerns visibly disabled people. Fatphobic as fuck too.
You think it’s a coincidence TERFs like to fixate on autistic people? You think it’s a coincidence that transphobic “passing” standards consistently target Black women in sports? You think its a coincidence Black and Brown trans people are regularly targeted and assaulted in mass and that it’s been like that since the very beginning of systemic transphobia? I could give half a million examples but tbh, I’m just exhausted. This bullshit just goes in circles and that’s why I dont put stock or faith in most white trans people or your communities.
You guys would rather dictate each other’s identities and target trans people who you think are “making your communities look bad” than fight your oppressors and deep rooted bigotries and learn from each other.

The anti-mask brain rot is penetrating the hospital system in a terrifying fashion.
Masks are necessary for accessing central lines, and more and more nurses are starting to have issues with wearing a mask during STERILE PROTOCOL.
These lines are going right into our hearts and nurses are throwing tantrums about having to cover up their faces for 5 minutes.
This has not happened at my infusion center personally but I have mutuals and friends who have had to beg their nurses to put on the mask that literally comes in the sterile access kit.

You claim to love and support "weird autistics" and advocate for a lack of masking, having your autistic traits on full display, but do you really?
Do you support autistic people who require a guardian/caregiver to transport them places? In general, do you support autistic people who still live with their parents/caregivers or in specialised homes, particularly those who are older?
Do you support autistics who cannot wash themselves and require assistance with that?
Would you actually provide support to somebody having a meltdown - particularly in public - or are you only saying as much to appear like a kind person online? You wouldn't judge and scorn them for something that's uncontrollable, right?
Would you really not be disgusted to the point of visible judgement were you to meet a partially/fully incontinent autistic person? Wouldn't laugh or visibly cringe when you spot their aids in public?
Those who pick and pull at their skin and hair, those who bang their heads on walls when overstimulated and are generally self-destructive - would you show them kindness and respect or view them in the same lens as you would a small child throwing a tantrum?
Would you genuinely not mock a nonverbal autistic for their usage of AAC devices, flash cards, sign language or any other mode of nonverbal communication? Do you promise you wouldn't laugh at nonverbal and semiverbal people who can only speak in single words or small sentences? Would you truly make an effort to include them in conversation, or would you leave them behind?
Above all else, would you actually treat these people with respect, according to their needs + wants, in correspondence with the age they are rather than immediately categorising them in the same headspace as Literal Toddlers, or do you only support "weird" autistics when their autistic traits are palatable to you? When all that's on show is an ardent love of their hyperfixations?

“We cannot talk about #blacklivesmatter w/out talking about disabled black lives. About ½ of those who experience police violence are disabled. This is particularly true of black people w/ mental illness, autism, & deafness. We know the egregious history of race science & eugenics that sought to diagnose blackness & “treat” it. That if you could label disabilities to attributes that were uniquely black, you could potentially dehumanize, demean & control black people. I know the rates of black disabled people, people w/ preexisting conditions in this country. This history has meant that many black people denounce disability because claiming it can confirm the things whiteness tried to diagnose us as to assert their supremacy. Regardless, I see you. Whether you see yourself as part of my community or not, I will fight for & affirm your life. #blackdisabledlivesmatter.”

xie lian headcanon:
his laughter is mostly silent, with lots of shaking shoulders and hunching into himself and covering his face. the kind that looks like you might be crying. sometimes xie lian will laugh so hard he ends up making choking sounds like half a guffaw. (he’s autistic ok he’s never gonna laugh just pretty and normal he’s gotta be forever kinda weird about it.)
later on he tends to fold over into hua cheng and bury his face in hua cheng’s shoulder when laughing but hua cheng likes to pull back to look and treasure his laughing face. so when xie lian’s having a rare giggle fit (a thing that almost never used to happen, even before the fall of xianle and certainly never after) they end up in the position where hua cheng is just leaning forward clutching xie lian’s shoulders and kind of watching and laughing as well so they’re in their own bubble which is adorable but also so fucking weird when there’s people around.
they’re weird4weird in this marriage ok xie lian gets the space to open up and be treasured for the ways he is weird and imperfect and hua cheng gets the space to be a creepy fanboy without getting judged for it.

Soooooo about that new tgcf episode, right? (novel spoilers for those who have not finished book 1)
Across the board tgcf season 2 has honestly been blowing away all my expectations for just how *good* of an adaptation it was going to be. It definitely helps that the 2nd half of book one is probably my favorite arc in the entire series and it brings me great joy to see it animated with such care.
Case and point, I was not expecting them to go quite so hard in showcasing the history of Xie Lian and Lang Qianqiu but it is by far my favorite scene in the episode. There is just. So much attention to detail here.
First up we have how they actually transition into the massacre.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The returning thematics of the 3rd glass of water problem being presented and what that means for Xie Lian and Lang Qianqiu specifically are clear enough from how the novel presents them, but this is just a perfect way to showcase that visually. By having Qianqiu's statement of "he shouldn't have intervened from the beginning" into Xie Lian becoming that 3rd person to take responsablity for the Gilded Banquet. The way that this also shows how it will reflect Qianqiu's views on what Xie Lian did when the truth is revealed.
Also shoutout to how menacing Xie Lian is as he walks up to the king. The donghua is really selling you on the possibility that maybe Xie Lian did do this. However, important to note, Xie Lian does not have a speck of blood on him- until he kills the king. A clever bit of foreshadowing to how the only blood Xie Lian actually has on his hands is the king's, no one else in that room was killed by him.
Tumblr media
I wish i had the screencap of when Qianqiu has overtaken Xie Lian because this is such a miserable and perfect parallel shot between the two of them.
Tumblr media
Circling back to the initial transition with the 3rd glass of water question, we see Xie Lian becoming that third person to prevent Lang Qianqiu from having to do so in his stead. He turns that 3rd person question in to a simple good and evil scenario. Upcoming we'll have Xie Lian's declaration of "Good! I hope you never become like me!" to Lang Qianqiu and furthering the parallels between them, and this is such a classic shot to establish such parallelism. Lang Qianqiu is so young and terrified and eerily similar to Xie Lian. And Xie Lian, who we have come to know as a apathetic but ultimately compassionate and kindhearted person, fully assume the mask of the villain.
Anyways if anyone needs me i am going to chewing this episode between my teeth
