Im scrolling down the blog (good job btw! Keep it up~) and i saw the kimono tapestry set and paused to look at sakuma. Then yuuki caught my eyes. I wondered what was it about him that made me pause - and then i realized yuuki and sakuma share colors. Yuuki’s hada juban(i think it’s called?) and sakuma’s haori are white; their yukatas are grey (different shade tho); sakuma’s hada juban and yuuki’s haori are dark. Maybe im being silly but i thought it was interesting

It always makes me happy when I get a message that gives me the chance to talk about Joker Game.

Yes, you’re raising an interesting point, in a way those two share colours and, what’s more, according to some webs the colour of their Kimono should be the one of the warrior class, which is a hint to how those two are the ones who’re officially acknowledged as soldiers.

The reverse colours can also look like as to hint how they represent reverse sides, Sakuma with his spirit of a perfect soldier while Yuuki, on the other side, is a perfect spy.

If I’ve to be sincere though, I fear the colour is chosen due to their colour schemes, Sakuma’s suit was, after all a greyish blue, while Yuuki was a grey one but it’s interesting to think at their clothes as chosen to reveal something about them.

Same goes for how they wear Haori, which in the past (well, the past prior to Joker Game) belonged only to the warrior and upper class.

LOL, I so wish we were allowed to know more about their past but sadly I fear this will never happen… -_-

Re-watching Joker Game: OAV 1 & 2 Black cat Yoru’s adventure

Well, in the past year I proposed a re-watching, and in this year I re-proposed a re-watching hoping someone else will join… but, truth to be told, there’s something that was bothering me in the past re-watching and it’s that the OAVs weren’t included. So, even though it doesn’t count, I’m going to re-watch them now (yeah, the both of them as they’re so short it’ll feel wrong to watch just one).

Also, hopefully there’s someone out there that read all this stuff… as I know it’s pretty long… shame on me for analyzing things too in deep…

Mind you, what follows are my ramblings over the OAV, comprehensive of my impression on how the frames were structured and so on with some occasional reference to the other Joker Game media.

Also, for personal comfort, I’ll use the characters’ names even if the anime hasn’t stated them yet. In short, as this is a re-watching and not a first watching, you’ll also get a telling that’s mixed with my knowledge of the future. Consider yourself warned.

My Joker Game Calendar arrived some days ago… but I had no idea how to scan it as the goddamn thing is lovely but HUGE.

In the end I managed to do it and so here I am, sharing the photos of those lovely boys for whoever can’t get it.

Mind you, me sharing photo is no excuse for not buying it if you can… quite the contrary, it’s meant to show you it’s definitely worth being bought. Support Joker Game, it deserves it!

Oh and I added a scan of the picture on Miyoshi’s paper bag because who wouldn’t want it?

From top to bottom: I-san, G-san, and S-san.

Joker Game animation artist drew them so they are look so much like the love child of Odagiri, Kaminaga and Jitsui. 😂

On second thought, G-san Mäý look like kaminaga but the hair style, hair’s and eyes’s colour are the mix of Miyoshi and Sakuma 😂

Because of Joker Game I’ve started collecting old cigarette packs from Japan and started framing them.

I managed to get my hands on an old Golden Bat label and put it side by side with the Joker Game parody version, Golden Kite cigarettes.

As well as this, also started on sweet a like Sakuma Drops, Bisco and Morinaga Caramels

(Morinaga I misread as “Kaminaga Caramels”, which would have also been one fun parody)
