So as a heads up, please pardon the dust for a while around here! As I mentioned in Febuary, back before Rebirth came out, I would be taking the game slowly - And I have been, resulting in me just now reaching Gongaga as of last night and finding Cissnei. Even so early into the village, I already have a lot of feelings and thoughts considering what direction to take my blog(s; @sakurarisen is involved in this choice as well and been getting more regular updates), and I've been actively talking it out with @honorisen, who is not as far into the game as i am due to an incredibly busy schedule and still does not wish to be spoiled - But is still working with me on our new direction.

With this in mind, I'm going to be, for the next week or so depending on my own health and schedule, starting to do some updates around here! There's going to be some heavy changes made, including the following:

I'll be focusing on Crisis Core into Rebirth from this point forward. I have not played Before Crisis and right now, I have no intention of looking into it; anything to do with Cissnei's role as a Turk prior to CC with be vague, and will not reference BC in any shape or form. tl;dr: Before Crisis does not apply to my take on Cissnei, only Crisis Core, Remake, and Rebirth. This also applies to Kunsel, though given he's largely unseen for much of the series aside from CC, that's easier for me to work with. I will not be doing anything set in OG without request anymore, as OG was actually suffocating to my muses, and Remake provides me with more wiggle room... And less focus on pain, suffering, and angst.

My blogs/FF based verses are set in their own timeline. Rebirth, following on from the end of Remake, has introduced multiple verses and timelines; the canon for both this blog, @sakurarisen, @bountyrisen, and Kasa's own @honorisen will be shifting to a timeline of our own that follows closely to canon events of CC, Remake, and Rebirth, but with a few divergences. I'll be making up a 'Divergences From Canon' page for this blog to match Sera's, as well, to further explain where we diverge from canon, and how. This is also canon for Kasa's Zack, and this timeline will continue to focus on Zack and Sera as they raise their family and try to survive, with the help of their friends.

Cissnei will be moving to Gongaga. I rather like how she was set up as leaving the Turks and moving there, and I'll be keeping that in these updates.

There is some original lore of my own creation that will be added as a background factor to all verses on this blog, and has been added to all my blogs as a whole, with varying degrees of relevancy and being seen. More on this will come when the updates are done, as I need to redo my rules and verses as well.

I'm still playing through Rebirth and likely won't be done with it anytime soon for a LOT of reasons, but at least I have a direction to start work on! So please pardon the dust - We're under construction again~! <3

Just a quick note: This blog needs a massive cleaning up and bit or work put into rehauling things, but after talking it out with @honorisen, this is likely to happen after Rebirth's release! However, like I've mentioned on my other blog, please don't drop spoilers on either of us - We've both preordered the game, but as Kasa is super busy offline and I like to take games like this slowly, there's no way we're gonna get that far in it any too quick, and would like to navigate things for ourselves, on our own time. We already have a general idea on what we're going to be doing with our blogs come release, but we still want to play it ourselves first, which can take us a month or two to get our footing in enough to work things out blogwise.

I will say that as of right now, I can safely say this blog will not stay strictly for FF7. Kunsel (Who's been moved to this blog, hence the url swap some time ago between the two blogs) and Cissnei have had a Genshin Impact verse added as well as a fully original setting, and I do plan on growing these and doing more with them alongside the updates incoming to my primary 7 canon. I will also be keeping my blog's canon as is; I'm mainly Remake based and Kunsel and Cissnei are close to Sera and Zack and support them, and it's still going to stay that way. Further updates will come later on, after I've played Rebirth and have some time (and focus!) to work on things, both on my own and with Kasa. <3

Just a heads up with the release of Crisis Core Reunion: I’m a gamer who likes to take games slow, and given I just got my hands on the game, I don’t really have opinions I can share yet! I know I love Kunsel (And Cissnei! <3) still, and while my activity has been slow for numerous offline reasons, I want to experience Reunion on my own time.

The plot itself isn’t really a spoiler for me given the fact I’ve played the original and was in the midst of a playthrough when CCR was announced, but for the time being, all asks and messages about CCR will be either ignored or deleted. It’s not that I don’t want to answer them - I thank y’all for sending them, I just don’t have a solid opinion on anything yet and want to make that myself, first! So for the next week or two, please refrain from any kinds of messages on the game, please - Just until I get a chance to fully experience it and form my opinion and feelings on my own. I’ll make mention of when I’m up for asks and messages myself, when I feel ready to share them!

eyes flickered upward to meet those of his visitor, widening slightly in surprise before a gloved hand beckons them closer, directing his guest to an empty chair adjacent to him in the company study. late nights were routine for the commander, who was tasked with formulating a strategy to cut the travel time from a supply outpost to the capital of Wutai in half. the feat would seem impossible to most, but he welcomed the challenge –– for idle minds lead one to ruin, no? gloved digits run themselves through dark locks as he pauses a moment to rest and, more importantly, further acknowledge the person before him. 

 ❝ –– while the company is appreciated I can’t help but wonder why you would choose to stay awake at such an unholy hour. ❞

“With respect, it’s hardly the first late night I’ve pulled.”

Cissnei’s tone was light, perhaps even teasing, yet still polite as the Turk waved a hand. She’d been in passing when she’d noticed the lights still on in the study - And with her own work held tight against her chest in the form of a stack of overstuffed folders, she’d not been able to keep her curiosity at bay. Peeking in on other employees wasn’t something she usually did without good reason, but... Perhaps she just needed another cup of coffee to get her through the night and focused?

“I could ask the same for you as well. Do you often spend the night tucked away in HQ like this?” Another tease. At the very least, the words were friendly and tone harmless, an important thing to keep to, in her opinion. She knew all too well how words got people into trouble, and as the redhead lowered herself into the offered seat, her lips softened into a far lighter and even concerned smile. “You owe it to yourself to sleep at some point... Or do they have you as overworked as they do us?”

how would you powerscale cissnei to the ff7 cast? she isn't cloud or sephiroth level, that's for sure

So I’ve been sitting on this for a few days to think, and you’re not wrong. Cissnei is skilled and strong, but she isn’t on Cloud’s level, and certainly not on Sephiroth’s! I don’t think she’s really on even Tifa’s level - But she’d be close, I think. She wouldn’t be a Turk if she wasn’t capable of holding her own in a battle or on her own, and I like to think the times we see her unable to in CC is largely because she’s aware Zack is in the area and trying to get him to come to her, so she can judge how his own training is going and report back in on things regarding him.

I fully believe she’s on the same level as the other Turks, and could hold her own against Rude, Reno, and Tseng. Again, she wouldn’t be a Turk if she were incapable of this; they’re trained to have special skillsets and to work in the background, and Cissnei is no different - especially since she’s been trained for the majority of her life to be one.

I’d pin her on the same level as the other main Turks we get to see fight, though perhaps in a slightly different manner; she’s not in your face hands on like Rude, nor is she a speed-based hard hitter like Reno. She’s calculating and direct, choosing her attacks and movements carefully and trying her best to avoid unnessecary movements or strikes, so she’s not taken off guard and can dodge when needed, keep her eye on her opponents. She’s also a distance fighter - So that puts her around a similar role to Barret for Cloud’s team, just far more calm than everyone’s favorite AVALANCHE leader. <3

I guess my answer, tl;dr form, is that I’d put her on the main Turks’ level. <3

Personally I like Carrie Savage! <3 I hope she returned for Reunion, but if not, I hope they find someone close to her - Her voice fit my girl perfectly, I think, and I’ll be sad if they go in a totally different direction, but it’ll just be something to get used to! It’s not a make or break for me and I’m just eager to get a copy of the game in my hands and see Cissnei, Kunsel, and Zack again <3

So as a general note before I actually answer your question, Nonnie - I don’t really apply Before Crisis to much on this blog. XD I apply it in the sense that yes, Cissnei was a Turk already prior to Crisis Cores events and thing happened - I don’t erase the fact there is a lot of lore in that game! It still happened and I will never deny that - But my particular take on Cissnei wasn’t involved in much of BC’s events, and was forcibly ‘retired’ from her role as a Turk post-CC. She still counts the other Turks as her friends and would know them, so other Turk rp’er’s from BC can count on Cissnei still being open for interactions, but I don’t actually apply Cissnei being the player turk or being heavily involved on this blog. <3

But with that being said, to actually answer your question: Yes and no. Yes in that Cissnei is one of many playable Turks the player can choose as their character, hence why Cissnei’s real name is never revealed in CC - Because you as the player could choose that name in BC. But it’s also no in that... Again, she was one of several and most of the events of BC are written in such a way that it could have been any of the playable Turks in the events you play through? It’s not a specific single Turk, and even much of the lore is shown to have all the Turks taking care of things as a group, as is their way in general.

It’s also a no in that, as far as I’m aware, Cissnei (as Shuriken) is only playable after the game reaches events taking place after CC’s end, as her mission to that point was to watch and follow Zack around? So there’s no way she could have been the primary Turk for the entire game’s events?

So as much as I’d like to give you a concrete answer, I have to channel the Nopons of the first Xenoblade Chronicles and unfortunately make my answer a resounding Yesno. XD

Just as a heads up reminder! I don’t (romantically) ship on this blog, and Cissnei and Shiva’s canons follow along with the same canon as my other blogs - One set up on my main, @sakurarisen​, where Sera is Zack’s ( @honorisen​ ) partner and eventual wife (in Remake) and the two have a son together. Cissnei isn’t interested in a relationship and I do delete anything trying to pressure a romantic ship, as per my rules! <3

I have nothing against other ships in the fandom and I’m happy y’all have them, and I hope you find all the content you’re looking for! <3 But by my personal choice, I’m not interested in it here, is all. <33 Sorry to all who were hoping to find ships on here aside from Cissnei and Shiva’s support of Sunflowershipping! <3

what was cissnei up to during ff7/remake, and what was her fate? (killed by sephiroth during his attack on shinra? or did she see all of 7/remake's events?)

By this blog’s canon, Cissnei actually was given a choice after failing to rescue Zack: Submit to Shinra control even more than she already had via being ‘moved to a different department’, or take an early retirement. Given she was one of the Turks who had gone against company orders to try and save Zack and Cloud rather than kill or capture on sight, there was no other way out for her, especially as a ward of the company raised within their walls - And Cissnei knew a little too well ‘a new department’ was just code for ‘go replace them as a test subject’. Full of guilt, refusing to let Shinra win, and unaware Zack actually survived in Remake verse, she took the option of forced ‘early’ retirement.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t that simple. It never is with Shinra.

Despite being ‘retired’ and no longer a Turk, Shinra still forces her to be a liason for them, dealing with the people on the plate in lieu of them... Y’know, actually giving a damn themselves. She’s still sent out on missions and does their dirty work, and being watched and stalked over every move she makes by them, just waiting for her to step out of line even slightly, has caused a resurgance of her issues with paranoia and some very severe struggles with guilt. Thankfully, she’s nowhere near HQ when Sephiroth attacks, but is horrified to find out what’s gone down, especially when despite everything, she still wants to help people. She wants nothing more than to see others smiling and living their best life, even if she doesn’t feel like she can be among them after what she let slide. Shinra’s done some good and she stands by that? But they’ve also done a lot of bad, and that... That’s a no bueno from her.

Regardless of OG or Remake, Cissnei works along with Kunsel to be an anonymous benefactor of sorts for Zack’s family, from his parents to the fiance (OG)/wife (Remake) and young son (Both) - Sera ( @sakurarisen ) and Shayan ( @legacydriven ) - he left behind. Though she doesn’t feel like she can show herself to them, she sends them ‘care packages’ under the name ‘Black Suit’ or simply marked with a ‘C’ through Kunsel, making sure the Fairs have everything they need to live comfortably and be happy. These packages also sometimes include old letters and pictures from Zack’s fanclub and her own personal collection, wanting them to have something to remember him by and smile at, just as she and many others still have. She’d do the same for Cloud’s family, but that’s... Just a little more difficult, given the state of Nibelheim.

However, in Remake, Cissnei reunites with Zack ( @honorisen ) while out of Midgar on a mission she’s almost certain was given to her in hopes she wouldn’t come back, and he both convinces her to and helps her escape from Shinra and Midgar as a whole, putting the former Turk on the run as well. She has yet to really show herself to the Fairs and things are still tense between herself and Zack, especially given all their secrets are now being aired out in full, and she can’t bring herself to actually stay in Gongaga given everything that’s happened, but for the first time since her family in the Turks, she’s finding peace. Control.

A life she can call her own, without Shinra breathing down her neck quite so hard.

She’s actually received some training for using two, but truth be told, she could never get the hang of it - and especially not like the mentioned KH boy I see you KH fans out there XD. Rekka has been more than enough for her, and while she isn’t as strong as some of the other Turks - Reno, Rude, Tseng... - she’s a formidable foe when she has to be. As far as Cissnei’s concerned, she doesn’t need two when she has one with good aim and the ability to be recalled back to her hand~!
