Sheesh, how many more of these "fake weddings" is Papergames gonna do? For an anniversary event, I was expecting something better and this was the best they could do? They should have just stuck with chapter karmas. They've already done a Chinese wedding style so what more can they possibly write about for a date? I've never seen an otome game with so many weddings taking place and some games don't even have a single wedding scene at all.

hi, just wanna say that without the essays and analysis people as you have published here, I wouldn't love Kiro as much as I do nowadays, he's my precious sunshine. I don't really expect anything from Papergames as a company, so I'm keeping my little treasures regardless of what's gonna come out of it in the end. do you plan in the future to explain what you think ended up going downhill with the direction of the game you have briefly mentioned?

Hello @ladyjune26! Thanks for the ask and being so very patient with me on answering. Here are the major complaints/pet peeves I have with what Papergames has done and continues to do to lessen my love of the game and their treatment of Kiro as a main love interest: *WARNING* LOTS OF RANTING AHEAD

Kiro always being the "odd one out of the bunch" in regards to karmas: Honestly, why did Papergames think it was a good idea to do this? I can tell which love interest they favor most over Kiro just from looking at the karma illustrations during group events. It's almost like they use a different filter on them or use a different artist completely to draw his karmas cuz his stick out like a sore thumb. A perfect example would be from last year's Xmas/New Year's event (Modern Rhapsody) where all the guys get stylish hairstyles and Kiro gets the short end of the stick. They forgot he's a main love interest and now he's just an afterthought. Another example is the Valentine's event where all the guys get kiss karmas and say "I love you". All the guys have open-mouth kisses with their eyes open and once again they don't do that with Kiro. IS IT REALLY THAT DIFFICULT TO BE CONSISTENT!?!?! MAKE IT MAKE SENSE!!! Plus, why can't they ever draw MC in gorgeous outfits or hot and intimate scenes with Kiro? She constantly looks plain and boring in many of them. Her relationship with Kiro is no longer friends anymore. THEY'RE LOVERS!!! Also, no creativity. There's a lot of karmas where they draw the same old stuff in them like a teddy bear, daisies, sunflowers....COME ON!!! THOSE AREN'T THE ONLY THINGS GOING FOR HIM!!! 'The Versatile King' my ass!!! Don't make statements like those if you can't even fulfill them. If they need ideas for karmas I have plenty...no wait, they already used them for the other love interests which leads to the next point.

Kiro has been reduced to a minor character/NPC role: In season 1 main story, Kiro had the least amount of screen time. I remember a Weibo post where a CN player calculated how much total screen time he had and it was 80 minutes! I haven't exactly tested if this was true but I've seen many CN fans mention this. Also, throughout season 1, his major plot points were all put into Rumors and Secrets and they're still doing it in season 2. And don't get me started on how much repetitiveness on certain aspects of his character...ISTG, I'VE NEVER SEEN SO MANY METAPHORS ABOUT A BEAR IN MY LIFE!!! Starting to see the pattern now?

Nothing gets changed when Kiro fans address issues: There was a time when during one of Gavin's bday karmas, his fans were hounding customer service to add the gingko bracelet to MC's wrist and within a very short period of time, it was done. However, whenever Kiro fans want something changed, nothing, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, gets done. A while back, there was a magazine advertising the game and for some very strange reason, they typed Kiro's name wrong and his birthdate. The entire Weibo page was just post after post about it. There's no excuse for such a small mistake which could have easily been avoided.

His karmas are released last: Whether it's the Fragrant Sunshine ERs, solo Wish Tree events, or in general, Kiro tends to be the last one scheduled. So far, he has not had a single free SR/SSR karma this year and it's already July. When the first kiss karmas were released several years ago, Kiro was once again the last one released.

Storyline and character arc: Are they ever going to address how Kiro can change into his silver-haired Helios form? Why does he have those markings on his right arm and how can they appear and disappear whenever? Is he ever going to find his master KEY? Why does Kiro look so much like his master KEY who was the previous Helios? Does that mean KEY also had blue eyes? What is this mission they keep teasing about? HELL, HIS ORIGINS!?!? There's been no story development whatsoever and they keep reusing the same stuff in the chapters. What happened to all that awesome character development in the first half of season 2? Crumbs keep dropping but it leads to nowhere. Here's a hot take: Westmoon had a much better, cohesive story overall. I am forever sad that it's over. If it isn't already obvious, the writers are heavily milking the main story. As much as I don't like season 1, at least it was more entertaining and mysterious especially when MC "died" and ended up in Winter World where all the love interests didn't know her. They should have continued from there. It would have been interesting to see how the relationships developed and MC ended up staying despite everything. Did she have to go back to the "main world"? There's just too many questions or maybe I'm being too analytical.

Dates that coincide with Main Story: For real though. Whatever happened with that? I remember there were a handful of these dates that follow-up with events that occurred during the main storyline (i.e. Light Pursuit- God tier date👌and Clinic date). PG completely did away with them for some reason. It gave so much insight and fleshed out Kiro's character more. I have yet to see a SINGLE date in season 2 that does this.

That's pretty much all the major issues I've come across. There are others but I've done enough nit-picking. However, don't let my opinions sway your enjoyment of the game. If you still like it, then please by all means, continue to play. Hope you have a wonderful day and take care!

Kiro is constantly paired with Victor or Gavin during top-up karmas: Mostly he's paired with Victor and outshines Kiro's karmas in art style even if Kiro's karma is a SSR one. What are you trying to say Papergames? Always catering to the love interests who are the most popular in the fandom and give you the most money. I never see Kiro paired with Lucien. The unfairness is through the roof when this happens.

Iirc, the last time there was any juicy Helios content was Clinic date way back when. Please don't let this date be shit. I still have PTSD from the other one. Helios should take up 95% of it at least cuz ya gurl has been thirsty for this silver fox. Speaking of...my God, Helios in that leather jacket and wearing that hat is doing major things to me 🤤🤤🤤. Omg....what an awful mess of a date this was...it read like a terribly bad fanfic as if the writers weren't even trying. The repetitive descriptions thru-out was ASTOUNDING to the point I wanted to poke me eyes out. Papergames is definitely running out of ideas for dates. Why do they even bother putting this event together? Its like they did it for the sake of it being the holidays. And why are Kiro's karmas always the odd one out of the bunch!?!? All the other guys have their hair all nice and fancy so why can't Kiro have one??? I thought this date would change my mind but I've lost all faith. The WORST Kiro date in history. I see him throwing his hat into the sky, and then the dazzling ribbons explode, the hat changing from one to three.

Kylo raises his chin in the face of the bright spotlight and takes one of the hats with great confidence.

He takes his time making his next move. His blue eyes look around calmly before he opens his palms--

Under the intense drum beat, a snow-white rabbit emerges from the hat. It shakes its ears and jumps into his palm.

The audience then exclaims and cheers, stands and applauds, and several people in fancy attire throw gold coins at the stage.

At this moment, I play the role of Jenny and sit in the booth somberly.

Sommelier: It's quite a pity that you just missed Mr. Kylo's performance, miss.

The sommelier on the side vividly describes to me the performance I had just missed while clearing out the glasses.

Before I finish speaking, he takes a step closer to me, a smile on his face, and immediately puts his hands on my waist, drawing our breaths closer.

Kylo: We need some romance, right?

This is clearly a line in the script, but looking into his eyes, I feel as if I have fallen into a deep sea.

He puts me in a trance, and I am unable to tell whether this is a part of the act or not.

MC: [blushing] I...

In an instant, all those unspoken hesitations are swallowed up by his kiss.

Different from the shyness in the dressing room some time ago, his breathing closely intertwines with mine, as if wanting to loose himself in the sensation with me.

Kylo: [murmuring breathlessly] Tell me...

He asks me softly, as if he were bewitching me.

My breathing is a little chaotic, and I begin to respond to him involuntarily, slowly snaking my hands around his neck.

No More Kiro Content/Translations

As the title suggests, I will no longer be doing any more Kiro translations. My interest in the game has taken a huge nosedive and I'm sick and tired of what Papergames has done with his character/story arc and karma illustrations (specifically how MC is portrayed in them). I'm sorry to anyone who was looking forward to reading new Kiro content. As to the person who sent me an ask about my favorite Kiro dates, I truly am sorry for not responding since I rarely go on Tumblr nowadays. I will try to answer when I find the time. His bday karma last year was SSR quality but this one can be considered almost SP. I honestly had no idea what Kiro's bday karma was gonna look like cuz I'm always surprised in the end. I am just completely floored.

Also, I think this is the first time seeing Kiro leaning on MC's shoulder which must mean he's finally relying on her and that just makes me so happy😭💕 and they're holding holds. He has always put on a perfect image/strong front for MC cuz he didn't want to appear weak and that nothing bothered him. Now he can be vulnerable and MC wouldn't think any less of him. You're only human, Kiro. We are weak creatures but also strong at the same time. I think that's what makes human beings unique.

Reaction to Kiro's Invasion Date

If you hear someone dying, that would be me. SWEET JESUS, MARY, AND JOSEPH!!! THIS DATE WAS....MMM-MMM...SO SO DELICIOUSLY GOOD!!!😩🥵For once in a very long time, water wasn't coming out of my eyes but somewhere else...take that what you will all you dirty minds out there, you know who you are especially you @link4eva 🤣

It seems PG can actually write the perfect date without it being behind a paywall. Personally, that top-up kiss ER of MC making the first move to kiss Kiro was underwhelming. But boy oh boy, did the writers turn things around with Invasion date. My expectations were extremely low which is probably why I ended up enjoying it much more than I thought I would. The biggest highlight of the date was MC. Not Kiro!?!? Crazy, I know but he was still great too. I mean just look at the top she's wearing!!! That detail is insane!!! Also, if you look very closely, there's a bead of sweat on her👀👀👀 She be making me hot and bothered 😆 I really can't say anymore or else I accidently spoil the juicy details but do look forward to the translation which will be done by @cheesy09 . Reaction to Kiro's New CN Halloween Date (Soul Painting)

I think PG seriously needs to put a trigger warning for every Kiro chapter from now on, at least the ones that make me cry like the sensitive little bitch that I am. I'm just happily enjoying my lunch break while reading the screenshots I took of Kiro's newly released chapter on CN server cuz there's no way I was gonna wait any longer after what happened in the previous chapter 3 months ago. Now I got 5 minutes to get myself together before returning to work and try to avoid eye contact with people.

Initial Thoughts on Kiro's Final Westmoon Chapter

Of course when I reached the climax of Kiro's chapter, I wasn't strong enough to beat the mission with the weak karmas I had but thank God for bilibili.com. I'm very sad to hear that Westmoon is coming to an end and I wished it was the actual main story but it could be because I have a strong bias for historical fantasy. I thought the story/plot was executed better and easier to follow compared to the one in Loveland City. The relationship dynamic between Kiro and MC was written more strongly and MC as a character was better written as well. This chapter was absolutely EVERYTHING I could ever want. It made feel so many emotions: sad, angry, happy, and hopeful. I was worried that it was gonna be rushed and really messy like the later part of season 1 main story but it turned out to be the perfect satisfying and fitting ending. The pacing was just right and I didn't feel like there were too many loose ends. If the main story can have this kind of ending or even better then I will gladly take it. I feel like I deserved that much after sticking with this game for so long. A more detailed post of the highlights from the chapter will be out later in the week. Below is a slight spoiler (not from Kiro's chapter) so DO NOT READ IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW!!!
