I feel like those who have fully bought into the "Magneto was right" narrative fail to understand the reason Magneto is a villain (or at the very least an antagonist) is that he doesn't believe in integration.

Xavier's approach has always been "mutants and humans can and must coexist and I'm willing to take the excruciatingly slow and uneven road if that means we can have peace and equality in the distant future". Magneto has given up on coexistence altogether. At his worst, he's a mutant supremacist, at his best, a mutant separatist. Given the general attitude towards mutants, you can see why he holds that view, but ultimately, he is wrong on both counts.
