I found thus poor creature abandoned on the streets!

It was malnourished and had no tags, so I took it in.

I had to wake up every two hours to feed it raw energy and after a month of care my creature looks so much healthier. ♡

Seeing DetCo movies as "canon" in terms of "the movies being canon is my headcanon" is absolutely acceptable.

Officially though, all Detective Conan movies are not canon except the bits and pieces that the author picks out himself.

What exact bits and pieces and how much of each movie counts officially as canon can unfortunately not be said with a general answer because it varies from movie to movie.

Movie 1 + 2 are canon

All Detective Conan movies are not canon! That also includes movie 1 + 2.

Bits and piece from movies can become canon though.

First example movie 1:

Movie 1 shows the first mentioning of Shinichi's birthday, May the 4th.

In the manga itself Shinichi's date of birth is never directly mentioned, however May the 4th stated as Shinichi's birthday later appeared in a manga guide book know as "Conan Drill - Decipherment of the Conan" on page 41, rendering it as canon fact.

Movie 1 also sparks the first movie original character, Ninzaburo Shiratori.

Shiratori was introduced in movie 1 as a new police inspector and later introduced in the original manga in file 209, where he finally became a canon character.

Second example movie 2:

Movie two is the first instance of Kogoro Mouri being portrait with peak aiming skills.

Ran's flashback scene in movie 2 shows Eri being held hostage while Kogoro is purposely shooting at her with his gun, showing his peak aiming skills.

This fact was originally not canon!

In Volumen 11 chapter 2 (TV episode 31) Kogoro states that he is not good at shooting with guns.

However it was later changed by Gosho, who stated in the Super Digest Book 40+ that Kogoro's excellent shooting skills as showen in movie 2 were now officially canon.

Canon, in terms of fictional media (including fictional stories), refers to what is considered to be an official part of the main storyline.

Generally, the parts of the main story contributed by the original creator. In case of Detective Conan/ Case Closed that means the original manga is canon.

If a character from a DetCo movie now appears in the original manga, this character becomes canon.

But, as long as the main storyline from a specific DetCo movie is not mentioned directly in the manga, the movie is not canon! That includes everything that happened in that movie, also character lore!

When someone spreads false information about Detective conan / Case Closed it feels so ironic. This show teaches you to do good research & always think logical, yet those people don't seem to have ever heard of that concept.

To no ones surprise, I did watch the 8th Detective Conan movie when it was running on German TV. (๑¯ω¯๑)

I really enjoyed watching this movie with favorite plushie Conan. You know, I never say no to a good movie night.

The story was relatively easy for me to follow, and I liked the way the characters were scripted.

At a certain scene, a thought was crossing my mind, and I kept wondering what Conan might usually think about... ‎​(•̪ . •̪)

"Black Organization here, Solving cases there, Ran... Ran! Oh God, please no!!!"

I suspect it must be something like that...

As always, I expect nothing crazy to happen throughout the movie, but I was surprised at the end to find favorite plushie, Conan, had missed the movie's finale and disappeared once again! (ó﹏ò｡)

It gave me a little heart attack, but when I found him he was just organizing his bag.

He is such a great baby boy. I'm so proud of him. ♡

By the way, I found the 7th Detective Conan film very exciting and romantic. It's even better if you've already been to Kyoto. ♡

I've been there in 2019, and it was amazing!

But I definitely wouldn't want to be hit by Conan's soccer ball. That would for sure hurt a lot. "(⊙﹏⊙)"

Detective Conan movies are still running on German TV. I just often forget to post it in time. (∗∕ ∕•̥̥̥̥∕ω∕•̥̥̥̥∕)

Don't get me wrong, I love watching the movies, even those ones that I somehow do not like that much.

My preferences in DetCo movies are quite different from other fans. I feel like the 6th Detective Conan movie is a great example of this.

I know a lot of fans who absolutely love this movie and count it as one of their favorites, however I'm one of those very few who don't. So let me tell you why and what I don't like about it. °^°/

I personally find the movie way to futuristic and not "Detective Conan" like.

The Detective Conan story has always reflected the present time. In fact the 6th Detective Conan movie is the only exception of this.

I personally don't hate what they did with this the story in this movie. I just feel like the story itself doesn't give off the typical "Detective Conan vibes".

I really like that we get to see Sherlock Holmes as a character in this movie. Especially since he is Conan /Shinichi's idol. I just find the way that the character was included in the movie a little unfortunate.

Definitely not in the best way. But it could have been worse, so I'm not complaining here.

Please don't get me wrong, the movie has a great story. It just doesn't feel a typical Detective Conan story to me.

Nonetheless , I did enjoy this movie. ♡
