Tribute paid to public officers: Behind-the-scenes footage of mourning for Lee Kuan Yew

A video made as a tribute to the public officers who worked during the one-week long national mourning period for the late Lee Kuan Yew was posted by Gov.sg on Facebook on 4 June 2015. 

The video titled “A Tribute to Public Officers” shows the hard work put in by the public officers from various agencies such as the Singapore Civil Defence Force, Singapore Police Force, People’s Association, and more. 

“Take a behind-the-scenes look at the dedication and hard work put in by public officers during the period of National Mourning,” the post said.

The video starts off with a shot of the Housing Development Board flats in the dark, with a voice-over of an officer recounting the moment he got the news about the passing of the former Singapore prime minister.

The post that was put up on Facebook has been shared over 2,000 times, with commenters lauding the efforts of the public officers.
