this is what I was talking about in my last post!

they made reusable water bottles / tumblers so you would buy one (1) and use it at starbucks etc instead of creating waste with disposable cups, plastic lids, plastic straws, but obviously if you buy one thing and use it forever that's not good for the company that manufactures it, so they made "limited edition" versions and turned it into a trend / status thing to collect dozens of them, completely defeating the original purpose of reducing plastic waste

Every once in a while I will remember a video I’d seen talking about overproduction of things, and the one I think of most often is reusable water bottles. I think is very important to remember that reusable water bottles are REUSABLE. You don’t need 10 water bottles when you’ll only be using one at a time. I think it’s good to have a backup, and for families to have enough for everyone, but a family of 3 does not need 20 reusable water bottles.

fun fact! One time I was falling asleep and was thinking about history and such, and in my dream Gaud became a history blog, totally overhauling their brand, and would reblog posts that were very normal-gaud-coded and share completely unrelated history facts!
