So this is the end of season one.  I must say, I was surprised they cut there. It’s like in the middle of the action but without the cliffhanger (heh) part. So the end kind of fell flat. Of course there’s the preview after the end credits but it doesn’t help the feeling of the ep being unfinished. I don’t think it would have been that complicated to make the first season 11 eps and finish on what we saw in the preview. That would have been a great end for the season! An end with a bang that leave the viewers wanting for more! But now that the first season is over, I can say that that abrupt and flat end is the only thing I didn’t like. Despite their low budget, they made something funny, watchable and more importantly, true to the original novel. I can only love it. I will wait very impatiently for the next season!

Shen Yuan geeking about sword flight, failing at it, and then being sick because of it was hilarious. He’s a peak master disaster. They gave Liu Mingyan and Gongyi Xiao some times to shine which was appreciated! I hope that during the Abyss arc, they will give Ming Fan and Ning Yingying some times to shine too! SQQ will be toobusy moping anyway. Congrats on the spiders. They were very creepy. Their design is really great!

I didn’t said it for the previous ep but I’m glad they didn’t shy away from the horrible things that happened (i.e. Binghe abuse, the children being eaten by demons) it makes me feel hopeful for the Mausoleum arc (mostly for the plants growing out of SQQ’s skin I won’t lie) and it shows that, despite being labeled a comedy, the world and story of PIDW is really fucked up.

Give it up for our now resident white-haired titties-out, our very own Mobei Jun! (But where is his demon mark?)
