Sakurai sho is casted in the lead role of Japanese new special drama with Osima Yuko

櫻井翔が国粋教師、同��役にＡＫＢ大島優子

嵐の櫻井翔（３０）が４月上旬放送のＴＢＳ系スペシャルドラマ「ブラックボード～時代と戦った教師たち～」（３夜連続放送）で教師役に初挑戦することが２４日、分かった。第二次大戦後の都立中学を舞台に、戦前の軍国主義教育を守ろうとする社会科教師を演じる。これまでのソフトなイメージを覆す武骨な役どころに、「“いまだに伝えられていない戦後”を表現したい」と気合十分。同僚教師役のＡＫＢ４８、大島優子（２３）と初共演する。

Sakurai sho(30), who is member of Arashi, is casted in TBS special drama 'Black board - the teachers who fought against their period' that will be broadcast in early April and will firstly challenge a teacher character. Background of the drama is postwar period of the second World War and he will play the history teacher who wants to stick to outdated militaristic way of teaching. He said "I want to express 'unreported postwar period'." It is first time he has acted with AKB48's Osima Yuko(23).

２５日、節目となる３０歳の誕生日を迎える櫻井が、戦後教育の転換期に苦しむ教師という難役で新境地を切り開く。

Sakurai, who attains his 30th birthday on January 25th, will play the difficult role of teacher who is tortured by changing of era and educational way.

櫻井は３夜連続ドラマ「ブラックボード－」の第１夜に主演。戦中は国民学校の国史教師で、復員後は戦火で利き腕の右腕を失いながらも、都立中学の社会科教師として教壇に復帰。戦前の価値観が崩壊し、生徒からは戦争教育責任を問われる中、自身が信奉してきた軍国主義教育と新しい民主主義教育の間で苦悩する役どころだ。

Sakurai's role in the part one of the omnibus drama 'Black board' that has three parts is a distressed history teacher in turning point of postwar education. His character lost his right arm by the war, but he came back to elementary school by history class teacher. However, his students accused him of militaristic educational way because of the erosion of traditional values, so he agonized between his way and new democratic values.

日本テレビ系「ＮＥＷＳ　ＺＥＲＯ」のキャスターを務める櫻井は「様々な形で戦争を伝えていく中で、いつかドラマで戦争を伝えることができたらと思っ��いた」と告白。今回の出演に「身の引き締まる思いと同時に、気合に満ちあふれています」と熱く語った。

Sakurai has done a caster of Nippon TV's news program 'News Zero'. He confessed "I have reported about wars, so I want to convey wars in a drama someday." and also said passionately "There is some pressure but I am full of spirit."

ＴＢＳの植田博樹プロデューサーによると、櫻井は２月上旬の撮入に向け、自衛隊関係者から直接、元軍人らしい所作を学ぶ予定で、旧日本軍の軍人らしく見えるよう、髪を短くカットして撮影に臨みたい意向も示しているという。

According to Ueda Hiroki TBS producer, Sakurai will learn about behaviors of soldiers from real soldier of the Japanese self-defense forces and he showed his will about cutting his hair shortly.

櫻井の同僚で英語教師役をＡＫＢ４８の大島優子（２３）が演じる。民主主義教育に未来を見いだそうとする大島と、かたくなに戦前の価値観を守ろうとする櫻井は対立関係にあるが、櫻井の一途な姿勢に大島が次第にひかれていく。

In addition to this, Osima Yuko(23) will act English teacher with Sakurai. Osima's character who wants to look for future from new democratic educational way come up against Sakurai's who keeps his strict before-war thinking way, but later, Osima's fascinates him because of his iron will.

植田氏は「多忙な大島さんですが、（ＡＫＢの総合プロデューサー）秋元康さんから『今回のドラマ出演は良い経験になる』と後押しをいただいた」と説明した。また、櫻井については「これまでのイメージを覆す“狂気の軍国主義者”を演じてくれるはず」と大きな期待を寄せる。

Ueda said "Although Osima is very busy with her schedules, Akimoto Yasusi, the producer of Akb48, supported this proposal and said "Playing this role in the drama will be good experience"." And he looked forward Sakurai "He will act mad militaristic people that reverse Sakurai's post-image."

櫻井は「信じるべき未来に葛藤を抱きながらも子供たちと向き合う…。その姿に、いまだ伝えられていない戦後がある気がします」と提言し、「この作品を通じて、大人、そして子供たちの“心の復興”を伝えられたら」と熱演を誓った。

Sakurai suggested his opinion about drama "Children and teacher looked at each other though there were many conflicts about future they should believe. I think that, in this, there is un-telled postwar period." and swore good performance. "I want that the drama will be able to convey children and adults' revival of hearts."
