Hoping to change, inspire & create new ways of thinking through each unique hand dyed shirt I sell. No two shirts will ever be the same. As goes for each human on Earth. There is no reason to tame down the unique individuality we each have. Each shirt also comes with a hand painted logo. The sale of each T-Shirt, brings us one step closer to uniting as one. Opening the eyes of the world and learning to accept one another. Please check out The Goal for Ripple link for more information, as well as my shop to purchase a shirt or to have one customized: https://www.etsy.com/shop/ShopRipple?ref=search_shop_redirect

September Artist of the Month
With hectic schedules, getting settled back into college and my new apartment, I ran short on time to interview an “Artist of the Month”. I’ll take this time to do a brief write up of myself, and share some of my work.
I am a 19 year old artist & surfer from New York, currently living in Manhattan. Art has always been the grounding factor in my life and along with surfing. All aspects of art interest me; from painting to sculpting, photography and everything in between, I just love to create.
I grew up walking around galleries in SOHO. Often accompanied by my dad, who instilled the words “If you want your work on the walls, just keeping working, and stay in school.” I always had an issue with the “stay in school” part. School has never been my thing, anyone who knows me, knows I often have a strong desire to do the opposite of what I’m told.
Long story short, I’ve been sticking the school thing out. I’m a Sophomore at The Fashion Institute of Technology, majoring in photography. I’m hoping to pursue photojournalism and surfing photography. I’ve always known, whatever career I chose, helping people would be a major factor.
Through photojournalism, I hope to travel to underprivileged areas world wide. I want to open the world’s eye to what is actually going on right outside our doors and the shocking reality of the world. My passion to expose the truth, grows daily as I watched the closed minded individuals around me. I feel fortunate to have grown up spending my summers in Ireland; where my mom is from and her side of the family live. I was exposed to a completely different way of life, realizing the whole world is not New York. I remember seeing friends’ photos from their vacations to “exotic” places like the Bahamas and Mexico. In a strange way, I felt annoyed because all their pictures were from the same resort- did they not see how the rest of the country lived?
I started my company Ripple, as a way to begin my message of creating a positive future. I truly believe knowledge is the most important factor in creating a difference. The money I make is going towards my future trips as a photojournalist. Overall, the message of Ripple is to spread a message of self acceptance. Not until we look within ourselves and accept the faults in our own head; our own world, can we begin to solve the problems of the world.

AUGUST ARTIST OF THE MONTH
Words with photographer & creative person Brenda Delgado
“I am the kind of person that I need things to be happening in order to feel alive. My passions are having to start a day with "what should I do today" and end two days later, completely exhausted with amazing stories that would last forever”.
It’s this energy that originally drew me to the 21 year old artist Brenda Delgado. It’s hard to pass by the life in someone who is motivated by literally everything; “lights, movement, chaos anger, happiness, love, motivation, food, cooking, being in vulnerable situations”.
Like any young professional, Delgado hopes to make a living from her work, but has a much deeper drive. She hopes to influence people, with a main focus on girls. Growing up in Mexico, she was constantly surrounded by this stereotypical energy where being a women, all she would and should be is a housewife. Luckily, she had a mother never holding her back from her dreams, as well as the opportunity to move to the U.S and being enrolled in a school with a very well off art program. She would love to influence girls to make art and to stand up for their passion. And “to help people see that there is more outside, than what is in front of us in our everyday, very comfortable U.S.A life”.
Art itself has always been an influence on Delgado. Painting on walls in her house from the age of 3, she could only hope to be where she is today; able to travel around New York City daily, and see masterpieces on museum walls for personal inspiration. She aspires to be the inspiration for others, regardless of age or background, to go create their own work. “I want people to look at my work and be like, “oh shit I want a camera too””.
So what ultimately inspires Brenda Delgado? “Absolutely everything; people, smells, food, garbage, movies, books, emotions, the smell of fresh laundry, the face of the people I love, the victory of doing a good job at something, the high from traveling, the love to create. It doesn’t matter if it’s to create a “master pierce”, but just the drive to be doing something that gives you a meaning in life, it is completely inspiring”.
There is such a purity to be found when we open our eyes to the world, take in everything and create with neither blindfolding our eyes or the viewers. It’s this honesty and integrity captured in Delgado’s work that really draws me in. It’s hard not to feed off of such positive energy. The mix of playfulness, with creativity and obscurity throughout her work is just a small insight of the wonderful mind of Delgado.
I find myself lucky to be able to talk to and feed off of her energy whenever I myself, am at a standstill. In the typical spirit of Brenda Delgado, her last words resinated in my head, far after our conversation.
“I want to keep experimenting and still enjoying life. I think once we let go and keep creating, the fear and hesitation goes away and it all makes sense. Like my boyfriend wrote to me in a poem, "everything is electric, everything is perfect” -Evan Kato"
Please check out the next few photos on my blog for more work and inspiration by Brenda Delgado.

Artist of the Month
There is so much life and passion in the world, it is hard not to be inspired.
Each Month I will be featuring a different artist (in all aspects of the word) making progress in their field.
It’s important to reflect and take pride in the people who fight daily to advance in a world so focused on failure and negativity.
We need to stop tackling each other down to try to build ourselves up. It’s time to appreciate one another and look at fellow artists as like minded friends rather than competition.

Meaning Behind my tie dye company Ripple.
Ripple is more than just a t-shirt company. My goal is to spread a message of not only love but acceptance for each person on Earth. To find peace within ourselves and ultimately generate this feeling outward. To open the eyes of society to what really goes on around us.
In the end, the money raised from selling the shirts will go towards my career in photojournalism. In hopes to open the eyes of the world and have us accept our pitfalls. It is only after we accept our mistakes that we can make change.
Besides buying a shirt, you can begin to help by looking within yourself. Reconcile with your own past. Embrace each day as a chance to start new. Set yourself free and “Ripple in still water”.
Make Waves.
