I have many thoughts about the new episode.

Mostly: teeheehee!!! aaaahahahahaaaa!!!!

(I looove TB. His atrocities totally weren't his fault.)

CoinPin divorce analysis under cut vv

Coiny just wants to be a little bastard!! And who can blame him? He only felt obligated to help Pin when she lost everything! (Savior complex [watch this awesome video it's great]) And he did form a connection with her over that time. She's one of his bros. And now that she doesn't need his help, he's not going to go easy on her anymore. That's what I think the "betrayal" meant to him. It was a signal that pin can play on her own now. And that means she's a rival in the game. He's a little like Eraser and Blocky (who were his friends). He likes to mess with people. He loves to sabotage and doesn't mind being sabotaged! It's a form of play for him. He's not a sore loser, but he is a sore winner. He wants to be a bastard, not a jerk or a wet blanket. He wants to have fun.

Which is why the conflict between him and Pin is so complex. It's a misunderstanding based around who they are as people.

Pin thinks that Coiny wants to take care of her and help her win. And while he is rooting for her, he'll play as good as a game as he can, and expects her to do the same. Coiny builds friendship based on rivalry (cough cough firey), while Pin's only friendship came from someone helping her up from a low point. Coiny wants to return to how things were before Episode 6, meanwhile those were Pin's worst days. She thought they were a duo now. Which is why she believes Coiny actually betrayed her when he doomed them to the bottom two. She was at her peak, finally on a winning streak after being the underdog for so long. Finally getting her revenge. And she pushed Coiny out of the way to do it. She expected him to be upset. Why wouldn't he be? But he wasn't. And she can't figure out why. People have hated her for less.

Coiny enjoys evenly matched rivalries with equal resistance on both sides. It's fulfilling for him. And, yknow, he hasn't had that lately. Closest thing I can think of is him slapping Firey in Episode 17. And even then, it wasn't even a fight. Firey didn't hit back like he used to. Coiny loves a sort of tug of war. A push and pull relationship to push each other to be at their best.

Pin is a little selfish socially. Nothing wrong with that, but she is. She has something of an "underdog complex". (not a thing but w/e) She finds herself on the receiving end of so much cruelty that she has forced herself to believe that she deserves to be cruel to compensate for it. That she deserves to win. And Coiny is a part of that. Coiny is an aid that she has earned. But now... she doesn't need his help. But she does want it. Expects it, even. He became part of her game, so far intertwined that she can't win challenges without something on Coiny's end. Even something like her ensuring that he will lose. It's like a favor she will never return. And boy is her debt stacking up. I think she's worried that Coiny will expect something back from her. And perhaps that's what she sees the crash as. A sort of retribution for everything he's done for her. Or perhaps some sort of irony; a cosmic joke. Maybe she was always doomed to loose.

Maybe BFDIA really was a fluke.

And that thought is terrifying.
