Is this just in my head? It just seems like a pretty fucking huge coincidence, given that I wrote my undergraduate dissertation on the contrasts and similarities between Oscar from The Rose of Versailles and Stephen Gordon from The Well Of Loneliness.

Hello ~~ sorry if youve answered this before lol. i want to get into ace wo nerae, what would you say is the best watch/read order ?? Thank you classic shoujo warrior

fake fan alert i never finished the second series 😭 it gets crazy good i just genuinely got distracted. but i went in anime publication order, aka ace wo nerae (1973), then ace wo nerae 2 (1988) which is where i stopped, THEN ace wo nerae final stage (1989). I think there's a movie that came out somewhere in between but those three are like the main story.

i think it's a slow start, like i remember just thinking it was ok the first few episodes i watched but then i blinked and the last match of the first series had me straight up on the edge of my seat. maybe i should just read the manga

well that's pretty easy it's on pluto. and prime/crunchyroll/third party anime sites. don't watch any of the movies until you've finished the show, they're both bad but the live action was at least interesting. the manga is also a great place to start if you'd prefer to read it but honestly as long as you stick with what came out in the 70's you can do whatever.

Forget Streaming, Retvrn to Winamp

I hear some of you are getting a little tired of the streaming service gauntlet! Did you know you can play mp3s with Winamp 5.6x, a very old program that plays songs perfectly fine from your PC, where your songs should be? (Newer versions add bullshit, you can decide whether you want that, but you don't.)

Did you know I made several really fucking good Utena Winamp skins? That aren't even on the website anymore because I broke the Multimedia section trying to make it easier to update in 2009? They might even be older than you, dear reader. I show my work hunting through my own website for shit I just forgot was there in a thread on Something Eternal, but if you just want the sauce:

Pictured in the order I made them, the first four are AT LEAST as old as April 2002. The last three were made in 2006 and 2007. All of them are in this 2mb ZIP, a comically small file for content I spent a small fortune hosting back when 2mb was a fucking massive amount of data, lmaaaao.
