Is Instagram Ruined?!
Yo,
As usual up front and forward, for now Instagram has been ruined by none other than Facebook!
Competition is good, but stupidity never has been. Facebook seems to just love to make stupid moves. We all know their history so I won’t go into all the privacy issues, content management, copying, the new bug announcement etc. Please learn from your mistakes! When something is going great you always don’t need to take it to the next level. Instagram did not need the video feature, it has slowed down everything on the app! Plain and simple! People love speed and simplicity, these 2 components have been part of the guidelines for every successful app and website and you know this Facebook! So why would Facebook take speed and simplicity away from one of the most enjoyable apps after acquiring it? Because their big head isn’t big enough. They want to keep shinning, so they have to prove it to the market that they can take a successfull app and make it even better but, they were wrong, terribly wrong! They have ruined the entire experience of Instagram no matter how many people will upload videos until they solve the speed and interface issues this is a failed feature add on. They’re goal to catch some traction in the social video sharing market has also failed and they’re taking down Instagram with them.

There is one thing that is very rare in Hip-Hop that is getting recognition from the legends! Especially, the living and spitting legends like Kanye, Jay Z, Nas, T.I. etc. But J.Cole made it happen. J.Cole got more than just a simple nod he got an entire remix by none other then the Queens King, Nas! Yes, Nas! Nas, has wowed Hip-Hop by doing a remix reply to J.Cole’s lyrical and inspirational Let Nas Down from his sophomore album #BornSinner by creating Made Nas Proud. J.Cole’s rhymes and lyrics hold their own but his emotion in his words and themes has already put him in  legendary status. Now he has Nas remixing him some concrete recognition.

Born Sinner - J.Cole & Yeezus - Kanye West
Yo,
It’s almost been over 50 hours and I’ve been listening to J.Cole & Kanye West non-stop! Don’t worry; Mac Miller review is coming next too! But the hype that Cole’s sophomore album has had it’s unbelievable for a fan that has been following him since the Come Up! Then there’s the marketing genius and solidified legend, Kanye West! Of-course, later this week we got Wale dropping something that just might be a classic. It’s the new birth of hip-hop from sinners to “Gods” to Indi lyricists and all the gifted! It’s a blessed time for Hip-Hop.
For now it’s about Born Sinner – J.Cole and Yeezus – Kanye West and I’m going to go straight to the point as usual; they both delivered outstandingly!
J.Cole did exactly what he needed to do; just drop a mixtape, not an album -- not what the label say, but what his minds & heart says! Every verse paints a vivid picture, like a splatter of effortless strokes. Strokes that signified fluidness that only a few can manage to do, like the few names that have been carved in stones over the history. Now if you know Hip-Hop you have to know one successful album doesn’t mean anything it’s what that artist is doing as a brand. The brand can be anything from mixtape presence to shoe deals and corporate dominance. J.Cole has developed a cult following after his Friday Night Lights mixtape. The mixtape was supposed to be a long awaited album after years of interviewing and no proof of any significant content – based on how radio stations and charts judge artists (dumbasses)! But only a few really knew what talent this young Southern rapper possessed, I was one of the lucky ones to notice early, with the Come Up you could tell this kid has that sound, that confidence that gives you goose-bumps. Ever since then he’s become one of the best underground artist and mixtape artist out. The kid has bars and is bringing back political, metaphorical, and emotional lyricism with the likes of Lupe Fiasco and Kendrick Lamar. The most impressive factor is how Cole’s flow has evolved. It’s evident that he’s having a lot more fun while discovering the versatility every artist needs to break a threshold that positions them at a place only a few sit. He also set a standard by doing all his production in house with the Dreamville crew. Also, by not having any rap features on Born Sinner he’s made a statement that almost no other artists have made in a very long time, that is real Hip-Hop can still be built from the ground up!
Now there is no need to talk about Kanye West’s career, he’s proven himself enough to not even discuss it and simply just say he’s a living legend. But one thing I will mention that a lot of people don’t seem to say is how Kanye West is not only one of the greatest artists of our time but him and Pharrell literally changed the face of Hip-Hop. Among the late 90s and early 2000s gangster rap and club banging crunkheads these two “Hip-Hop nerds” changed the entire scene and built their brands. Brands that just might never fade away! Kanye’s greatness is at its peak; very few artists can change their sound on every album and still drop a classic. Kanye has done that with all his ventures and some way managed to keep his core fans through what some may consider ups and downs. He’s branched out to all fields he believe he can strive in-- from High End fashion, to the Sneakerhead lifestyle to popping up on buildings all over the country, with one of the greatest marketing schemes to promote an album. Its official Kanye’s star has risen so high he doesn’t need radio or the charts to sell records and deliver unrivaled sounds and ideology. Yeezus, has shocked the world, the title and the raunchy thought provoking themes of every component of every track lures you into imaginations and a distinct presentation of a world only Kanye West can create.
I would like to give up to these two artists who started just like any entrepreneur does by building disruptive visions and executing every move to produce success. They’ve created brands, which are making waves in one of the most competitive markets and they definitely are getting better with age.

Sneakerhead Roots
Yo,
Sneakerheads represent a generation of hustlers, collectors, and creators. The Sneakerhead genre was an extension of Hip-Hop; it developed in lower income areas as a coveted fashion statement. Sneakers showcased personal style and versatility to a group that never sits still and always has to worry about the next move. Not only could you wear sneakers on the corner block, but also pair them up with the best looking outfit for that long awaited weekend. As the kids who grew up in these low income neighborhoods they saw the direct fusion between Hip-Hop and sneakers. Once their favorite rappers began to spit rhymes and lyrics in correlation with what is on their feet and what it represents the fate of sneakers was sealed within Hip-Hop.
At this point Sneakerhead lifestyle was prevalent in Hip-Hop but not distinguished to the majority. This was all changed by the sheer power of persuasiveness and commitment. The man behind the biggest sneaker revolution was David Falk, Michael Jordan's agent. Falk brought the idea of a shoe deal to Jordan, which he had minimal interest in from the start. Falk had a different and much broader vision, not only did he believe that sneakers would represent Jordan and the game of basketball remarkably, he also saw the branding and marketing possibilities for his client. Falk wanted a small company that was on the rise with an exceptional team of visionaries to represent Jordan, he also wanted to make it clear that Jordan would be a top priority. A midst this expanding vision Jordan was playing in the Olympics and claimed to be tired and ready to lay back so he was not worried about business, which was terrible news for Falk. During this time Falk kept pushing Jordan to comply even though Jordan had made it clear he had no interest time after time. Finally Falk got through after including Jordan's parents into his vision. Jordan and Falk met a small yet promising shoe company, Nike, for a presentation that impressed them so much Jordan made the decision without meeting any further options. From that day on Sneakerhead lifestyle was changed forever! Jordan was well on his way to becoming an icon in sports and the mainstream -- but his image, solidified global celebrity, and superior wealth began with an underground trend!
