Hi everyone! Just got added and it’s been fun going through all the past emails.
Here are some places I find inspiration. Hope this helps on your creative journey!
Cinematography Stills (Pinterest)
Sometimes doing a quick search on Pinterest of cinematography and absorbing the stills is enough to spark some new ideas; color, lighting, composition, camera angles and depth of field. They are simply beautiful to look at and a reminder of why I love creating key art for films and series.
Tumblr media
Polish Posters.  They are bizarre, interesting, iconic and amazing. These provide an unconventional way of advertising a film/series.
Tumblr media
Lessons from the Screenplay
A Youtube channel that dives deeper into films. This helps to understand how character arcs, themes and narratives develop which are important when we are trying to create marketing materials.
True Detective vs Se7en – Creating Light Amongst The Dark
youtube
Despite the dark and gruesome subject matters of True Detective and Se7en, the character arcs of the main characters tell a story of profound optimism.
Stray Video Game
This game is amazing. I played this afterwork to unwind and was in love with the visual storytelling. It felt extremely cinematic and inspiring.
youtube
Stray is a 2022 adventure video game developed by BlueTwelve Studio and published by Annapurna Interactive. The story follows a stray cat who falls into a walled city populated by robots, machines, and viruses, and sets out to return to the surface with the help of a drone companion called B-12.
Here are some screenshots:
Tumblr media
My cats Zuma and Hana hanging out with me while playing:
Tumblr media
The Kerning Game
Because sometimes we just need a fun way to brush up on our kerning skills! Would love to see everyone’s scores!
I’ve had better kerning days, guess I need more coffee. Hope to see some 100’s everyone!
Tumblr media
I did get a few good ones though.

Tumblr media
I’d like to nominate Rachele Honner.
Cheers!

Good morning!
So, my picks are kind of a mish-mosh of inspiration - some for my design and some for my artwork.
Here is a link to my super-secret Pinterest Design inspo board that I've unlocked for your viewing pleasure 🙂 . Part of my kick-off process (for my own brain) is to create robust boards for every title. This helps me organize my thoughts and oftentimes sends me down unexpected rabbit-holes of ideas. https://www.pinterest.com/dominiquevitali/design/220 New Design ideas in 2022 | graphic design inspiration, graphic design, typography design ....
Many, many years ago my husband bought these cards for me, and they've traveled with me from desk to desk and job to job. I highly recommend them - sometimes it's the exact brick you need to smash through your creative block. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oblique_Strategies ....
This is a photographer whose work I keep stumbling on in various group shows. She's kind of under the radar but every time I see her photography it brings me joy. https://www.joanneleah.com/Joanne Leah ....
4. There's a freedom that fashion brands have when creating videos as a means of artistic promotion that lead to incredible little morsels of magic. A few examples below that I've been drawn to.
https://vimeo.com/180668935
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UGEYaRyLgLg
https://youtu.be/w4nlIrfEdFY
https://vimeo.com/evu
....
5. Lastly, my favorite living artist who I come back to again and again when I need a creative boost. Do some some digging and look at her work. She's incredible. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kiki_SmithKiki Smith - Wikipedia
Enjoy!
I nominate @Krtikashyan, David if you haven't gone yet!

Thank you, Oblique Strategies!
These are a few things that inspire me...
#1 HERE is a fascinating story of an artist whose survival depends on his skills and talent.
#2 Powers of Ten - 1977 - This should be in the kindergarten curriculum.  I saw it in college.
#3 Sadly Jaques Brel died very young, but here is one of his greatest performances "Ne Me Quitte Pas"
#4 Now some posters Jay Shaw
#5 And here are some Creepy Kids
BONUS
Oblique Strategies does work!  You can get it here at the app store.
Brought to you by Dominique Vitali.
I forgot the most important part.  I nominate @Honner, Rachele!

Hey all!
Here’s my Top 5. Some are new things that have caught my attention lately and some older stuff as well.
1.
Love Death + Robots: Jibaro (Netflix)
Tumblr media
The latest season of Netflix’s anthology series had one short in particular that really surprised me. Looking at it from a purely technical and filmmaking perspective it’s quite extraordinary. The motion capture, render quality, camerawork and lighting all work together to bring this intense, hypnotic, dark fable to life. I find most of LD+R’s shorts underwhelming but Jibaro is worth a watch if you have 15min to spare (and you haven’t canceled your Netflix subscription 😆)  **I should warn everyone that the short contains moments of intense violence and themes**
2.
The New York Times “The Truth Is Worth It” Campaign
Tumblr media
This is an older one but has stuck with me. On the surface it’s just simple type on footage but the execution is flawless. Using the NYTimes signature typography the spots take the viewer on a journey with the reporter. If give a little insight into the process of uncovering the facts to get the story. The final reveal of the title and byline lockup is -chef’s kiss-.
The Truth Is Worth It: All Films
Droga5 Project Page
Extra:
Life Needs Truth
Another amazing NYT spot from Droga5. An evolution of the their previous campaign, using the established language but this time highlighting all of the stories that define the current climate in America, backed by a rousing live jazz track from Makaya McCraven and the keyboard clacks of the journalist.
3.
Three Thousand Years of Longing Trailer
Tumblr media
Trailer YouTube Link
Not much to say except this recent trailer is nuts in the best way. Much like the Mad Max:Fury Road trailer, the editing and music creates this bombastic energy that demands the viewers attention. I just learned that George Miller’s wife edits all his movies… I wonder if she has a hand in the trailers as well?
4.
AI Generative Art (Dall•E 2, Midjourney)
Tumblr media
"a centaur except the man part is a jumbo shrimp"
This stuff is just bonkers. Basically a neural networks that can generate images from text prompts. The future is a scary place.
DALL• E Official Website
TWITTER
TWITTER
5.
Apple TV+ Severance/Pachinko Opening Titles
Tumblr media
I’m cheating by including two of my favorite opening titles so far this year.
Pachinko Opening Titles
Oddly there’s been a few song and dance opening titles this year (Mark shared Peacemaker in a previous Top 5) but this one might be my favorite. The electric colors and flashing lights of the pachinko parlor, the music, the grading, I’m into it.
Severance
Created by a Berlin artist Extraweg, who Ben Stiller discovered on Instagram. This series is well worth a watch as well if you haven’t seen it already.
Extra:
Another title sequence that’s really great... Candy Main Titles
Thanks for reading!
Jon
Next week I nominate… @Vitali, Dominique (I don’t believe you’ve gone yet right?)

Happy Monday!
Here are 5 things that have caught my eye lately.
1) Pepsi’s “hidden logo” ad campaign. For National Burger Day last year Pepsi featured packaging from very recognizable fast food chains in which you could find the Pepsi logo within a circle outline in each one. Their concept was “even when we’re not on the menu, we’re always in the picture” which I thought was pretty genius.
Tumblr media
2) An oldie but a goodie, I recently fell into a music video rabbit hole and rewatched Kanye West’s “Good Life”.
The illustrations and the animated type are really fun and expressive.
3) Season 3 Atlanta Key Art. Donald Glover did an interview while promoting the most recent season and explained how they found this artist on instagram to work on their key art. The surrealism matches the tone of the show perfectly which is to make you feel uncomfortable and make you look at things differently.
Tumblr media
4) In early January twitter launched an out-of-home “manifestation” campaign that highlighted old tweets of celebrities before they made it big.
The tweets appear on billboards in the hometowns of the artists and athletes that manifested their dreams on their platform as well as most major cities.
I thought this campaign was simple yet very eye catching and effective.
Tumblr media
5) Recreating the Netflix Intro with $30 Worth of Yarn: Stumbled across this video a few weeks ago and have watched it about 50 times now.
Very cool to see someone take an animation and recreate it in a tangible way.
@Smith, Jon (Showtime) you’re up next! 😊

Wadup everybody,
I originally thought this would be difficult for an entirely different reason. It’s hard to distill some of the impressive work, people, and things I’ve come across into just 5. You’ll probably find out very quickly that I really value great typography and well-done design systems. Here is a selection that offers some of that! Click all the links to explore.
1. ERIK MARINOVICH
Tumblr media
One of my typographic heroes. I would say one of the most versatile lettering artists and typographers with a range that not many people have comfortably. There’s a VERY strong chance that you've seen his work out there in the wild.
__
2. ALEXIS TAÏEB
Tumblr media
French Typographer. Foodie. Cool guy. Imagine your natural handwriting being so good that people create their entire branding based on something that don’t know how to do any other way. I had the humbling pleasure of pitching against him on a project and I 100% understand why he won the pitch.
__
3. GRETEL NY - Viceland Rebrand
Tumblr media
The Viceland brand is such a simple aesthetic (a black sans serif font on a gray BG). What Gretel did with this brand is - they created a robust enough design system and turned it into an iconic design universe that can house any and everything they need to convey as long as the animation style, typography, and photography style stay relatively consistent.
__
4.  SIBLING RIVALRY - Legendary
Tumblr media
Along with the show being a VERY entertaining spotlight on Black ‘Ballroom’ culture and competition (a la ‘Paris is Burning’) the type and animation in this was just dope. I had never thought to associate this style of type, design, and production value with this facet of Black culture because it traditionally has been more underground and only accessible to that community but now my expectation can be nothing less when its on this scale.
__
5. PORTO ROCHA - Vevo Rebrand
Tumblr media
This is less about the type but more about how they’ve been able to breathe life into a design system that probably will stick around for a long time because it doesn’t (just) take the cues from the content. It just makes whatever content it houses look good. Hyper flexible and expansive as a 360 design system.
__
BONUS - HONDA ‘Keep Up’ vs APPLE ‘Don’t Blink’
Fun Fact, before there was the iconic Don’t Blink campaign by Apple (https://youtu.be/jk6sz25OZgw) that has been referenced a million times, there was this ad by Honda almost a year prior (https://youtu.be/QlxADlERFkA) that [for me] had already shifted the consciousness on how typography can be a main character if not the hero in a commercial campaign.
Thanks, folks. I appreciate the nomination. Idk who hasn't gone yet, but I'll pick @Noisy, Giovanni if you haven't gone yet.

Happy Monday everyone. This has been an amazing list of creative work. Here's a glimpse into a few things I find inspiring.
1. Joker teaser posters. -  This campaign had some nice creative, I found these two were most striking.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As a runner-up, I found this teaser poster cool and unexpected as well.
Tumblr media
2. I was first introduced to Ash Thorp by seeing his amazing UI design work. He's done everything from Illustration to Creative Direction. Some really great work.
    Ash Thorp - ALT Creative
3. No Time to Die opening title sequence has some great visual direction and the level of details are really amazing.
4. I came across this project several years ago while I was designing posters. It's a great reminder for me on how to keep ideas simple and to distill them down to it's purest state.
   A Movie Poster a Day
5. Magdiel Lopez - I love the use of bright colors and textures he incorporates in his art.
Thanks for taking a look. Up next...Richard Fahey let's see what inspires you.

March 28, 2022 (Mark A)
Thanks, Scott!  Cool stuff in there.  Hi, I’m Mark and I love TV.  There, I said it.
I think the only marketing campaigns that get my attention are the announcements of new shows that I was previously oblivious to.  Not the trailer, no thanks, TMI.  I only want the tease, and the more abstract the better. Here are some examples.
Maniac Tease
This is a few years old now, but it still feels so fresh!  After I saw this tease for Maniac I was all in.
I just saw This while searching for the previous one, so I’m attaching it. Using some peripheral screen content from the show as a digital promotion is genius.  I’m a sucker for “bad” motion graphics and low budget production simulation so I love it. Even more as a marketing tool.  I might need to watch this show again.
Winning Time Tease
Style above content.  Pizzaz. I don’t care about basketball, but as a result of watching this tease, I’m watching this show. I’m pretty blown away by the grade and treatment of the footage.
Cowboy Bebop Lost Session Tease
This tease for Netflix’s live action reboot is innovative in a lot of ways.  Obviously visually, but also that it’s kind of a mini episode/preview of what to expect.  A side project promotion.  Kind of like the Opening Title Sequence which is also impeccable.  Unfortunately the show not so much. I could barely make it through two episodes and then Netflix cancelled it, confirming its shortcoming.   But I was excited to see the show after seeing both of these pieces before it aired.
Can a show open be considered a marketing tool?  I think so.  Most streamers allow you skip right over them now, and I think most people do exactly that.  But what about when they are actually the best part of the show?  I wasn’t inclined to watch Peacemaker, but someone I like recommended it to me.  After watching the open I said to myself, “What is this? A tik-tok- superhero-hair metal anthem-puppet show?” I ended up watching the entire series just to see this open in context each episode.  Every time I see it I love it a little bit more.
Peacemaker Title Sequence
Pandemic born visual art and performance.  It’s not marketing at all, but it does seem to be a thing, and I want to acknowledge it. Trying to decide between this, this and the one below; I went with Bo Burnham’s comedy special on Netflix last year.  He is a comedian, musician, and now visual artist.  He made this in his apartment, seemingly by himself.  It’s funny, but more a disturbing, vulnerable document of his growing madness through isolation.  I imagine the hours, days and months he spent crafting this, surrounded only by himself in small quarters, becoming a raving hermit with no audience, as the world outside him was falling apart.  For me it’s truly as impressive as it is entertaining.
Bo Burnham - Inside - Trailer
Thanks for watching
Lets see, who’s next…. @Noisy, Giovanni  show us what you like!

Influenced by the Spring Time and a new way forward… here’s my top 5. AND if @Auleta, Mark hasn’t gone yet, you up next!
—SM
––––
01. Tomb Series: David Rudnick. https://tombseri.es/tombs/007
NFT project and book series. A project built around Iteration/Variation. I am not this disciplined, I would go insane, which is why I respect the project and what it entails… The CD Rom as a capsule, a container of worlds, both archaic and futuristic. Incredible detail using illustrator and PSD, no 3D modelling. Excellent thinking and execution, most of his pieces are already sold out.
Tomb Series is a series of 177 individual works, referred to as Tombs, published in a 240 page hardcover book format – Tomb Index – and deployed on chain as individual 1/1 artworks, plus a smaller series of screen-print editions.
02. Kayla Mattes. https://kaylamattes.com/ instagram: @kaylamattes
Basket Weaving on steroids or “other” things… Truly inspiring post-internet creations that take the form of a yesteryear way of making. The crafty hand of Kayla Mattes allows all our internet dreams and nightmares to miraculously manifest themselves onto wool, one stitch at a (hand painstaking) time.
One of my favorite pieces is “Zoomed Out” from 2021. Key phrases found in this piece are “It’s Ok”, “Truth”, “Help”, and “End Meeting”… Most of the imagery is either on fire, swirling in the wind, or in a phase of being shut down… Makes sense in the long run.
03. The Kindred of the Kibbo Kift: Intellectual Barbarians (Donjon Books, London) https://donlonbooks.com/products/the-kindred-of-the-kibbo-kift-intellectual-barbarians-by-annebella-pollen-1
I first found out about this group of makeshift makers in 2020 during an interview with friends from school. We were discussing communities and what might be considered a community, or better yet, how should we define them? The Kindred of the Kibbo Kift came up as an example…
Essentially they were a supped up version of the Girls and Boys Scouts but they were not out to sell cookies, they were out to change the world. Dressed in their own, hand-made uniforms, carrying banners and singing songs while going on long camping and hike excursions, this group was looking for a way to leave war and crisis in the dust. Their output was amazing and so was their message.
04. French Fred. https://frenchfredboutique.bigcartel.com/
French Fred is a photographer from (guess)… He primarily shoots black and white photos, primarily using Leica’s, which you can instantly tell if you’re familiar with them. His photos are raw, gritty, and super well composed. His subject matter revolves around skateboarding, however, unlike most skate photography, Fred’s photos consider the environment almost more than the act of skateboarding. The geometries, textures, patterns, and structures of the architecture is the art within the act, and Fred captures it all for us.
05. Best Life: Danny Brown. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ov_0M5OxbZM
This goes back to pre “whatever we just went through/are still going through…” November 2019, researching for the Chi 3 (?) and everything was coming up flowers. My internet scrolls were spotting a ton of photos of a pregnant Beyonce surrounded by flowers, Rhianna doing her best to compete with Bae by wearing flowers as a mask over her face… everything was lovely, going great! A celebration of life!
Then comes Danny Brown’s video for Best Life. A revolving, disorientating, chaotic, crisis-induced montage of heck… and somehow the best stated prelude for 2020. Buckle up, celebrate family, figure it out, and move forward. That, and I was really hoping we could fill a Cadillac with flowers for the CHI shoot. **Explicit Language, sorry**
Thank you!

February 28, 2022 (Soon K)
Hi everyone,
Ending this Manic Monday with my Top 5. I nominate @Honner, Rachele for next week’s episode…
--
1.       ABSOLUT-LY OBSESSED
I was collecting Absolut ads before I was old enough to drink – it was practically wallpaper in my college dorm. Their print campaign followed a very simple formula but it was so clever and memorable that they ran with it for 25 years.
These days, I find it hard to know what advertisers are actually trying to sell me. Sometimes, less really is more. By being consistent and making the actual physical product the star of the show every time, the Absolut bottle not only became a brand icon, but probably also brainwashed me into becoming a vodka drinker for life.
2.       DAVID LACHAPELLE
https://www.davidlachapelle.com/photographs-portraits
The first photographer I ever knew by name was David LaChapelle. I remember seeing his work in magazines and loving everything about it at the time: celebs in over-the-top, surreal, hyper-saturated, provocative and often humorous scenarios – a fun blend of art history + contemporary pop culture that delighted my senses year after year.
I also love the fact that he went off the grid to go live on a farm in Hawaii for 10 years. Walking away in your prime seems like career suicide but also kinda badass, and it’s something that I respect more now as I’ve gotten older in this business. Burnout is real and you do what you gotta do to preserve your well-being and creative integrity. Friendly reminder for everyone to take their PTO!
3.       LOVING VINCENT
youtube
In honor of my late father whose favorite artist was Vincent Van Gogh, I want to give a shoutout to the world’s first fully painted feature film. A true labor of love, each of the film’s 66,960 frames were oil painted on canvas by a team of 125 artists. Can you imagine?! I can’t even handwrite a grocery list anymore…
To learn more about the process, you can watch the “Making Of” video here.
4.       NOPE – A FILM BY JORDAN PEELE
youtube
I’m not a big fan of horror movies but I think Jordan Peele is a mad genius and get equal parts excited and scared whenever he has a new project coming out. Insert quote card here: “Peele’s gone and done it again… dreamed up something terrible and turned it into a work of art we’re all going to become obsessed with.” -THE VERGE
The latest trailer for his upcoming film did not disappoint. Will this movie probably ruin inflatable air tube dancers for me? Yup…
5.       I 💜 BTS
During the start of COVID, I spent a lot of time watching BTS videos. Sure, I was a little late to the game and old enough to be their cool aunt but witnessing this septet break into the US mainstream over the last few years has brought me great pride as a Korean-American and much-needed distraction from all the anti-Asian hate that’s been on the rise.
BTS has transcended age, language and cultural differences to set its brand apart from the rest of K-Pop – and they have the world’s biggest fan base to prove it. Their talent, style and creativity as entertainers got them attention, but how they utilized their international star power to promote important messages about self-love, mental health, climate change and ending violence is what gave them a real voice.
From Presidential Special Envoys to Louis Vuitton and Samsung Ambassadors, they seem to be everywhere these days and my inner-tween is excited to see what kind of creative collaborations they will be a part of next.

-Art & Graft
Great motion studio in London. Always doing creative and thoughtful work. Also pretty high up in the rankings of studio with the best cheeky name. In the crowded field of studios with cheeky names.
-Monday Night Football rebrand
I thought this was just a great rebrand of a sports property. Its modern, slick, etc etc etc! It really elevates the bar in that field. On a sad note as I watch the season progress. I’m assuming the in-house gfx team are taking the toolkit and doing some dodgy stuff. But the initial offering is gorgeous for a broadcast sports package.

Hello all, I wanted to share creative that I draw from when making things myself.
These things serve as reminders of what is possible and I often go back a watch them to help me get out of whatever self-imposed constraint I’ve put on myself.
Each one for me is an ideal and something to stare at over and over again while trying to demystify it’s alchemy.
NIKE X KENDRICK LAMAR
For making the hair on my arm stand up while still being amazed by how perfect this piece is.
youtube
A$AP ROCKEY
For taking a single idea and working it out a million ways until I forget I’m watching someone’s idea and get lost in the world they have built.
youtube
BUCK
For sheer imagistic inventiveness. Proof that anything can become anything else and that there are no limits on what can be done if you take the time to figure it out.
vimeo
CASSINI VIDEO
The most perfect marriage of sound and image I have ever seen. I think about this all the time there is not a single frame that isn’t considered. Elegant, relentless and intense without being aggressive.
vimeo
ENTER THE VOID TITLE OPEN
When I first saw this it freaked me out. It broke every design rule I knew. It was like watching someone play guitar with a hammer. Its proof that it should always be feelings above rules when it comes to this stuff.

Adding onto that, I highly recommend this beautiful documentary from Sophia Nahli Allison, a masterclass in radical imagination woven with visceral interviews. I feel she really elevated what a documentary could be with deeply emotional and surreal vignettes.
"Honoring the landmark docuseries "Eyes on the Prize," this documentary special from Academy Award® nominated filmmaker Sophia Nahli Allison explores the profound journey for Black liberation. By giving lost stories a place to exist and spotlighting new voices for the future, Allison reflects on the moments that brought us to where we are – and where we're going. "

I love this reimagining of The Rite, combined with a lyrical poster, evocative color palette and costumes, and some incredible portraits by Evelyn Bencicava.
"For the 106th anniversary of The Rite of Spring, Culture Device, a group comprised solely of dancers with Downs syndrome, held a 10-week residency at the Royal Opera House, reimagining and reinterpreting this ballet. When it was first premiered in 1913, the ballet’s groundbreaking composition and choreography provoked a riot in the crowd."

Goooooood morning team!
So, I wanted very badly to come back with some great 360 campaigns to share here, but time has gotten away from me and I am going to take a slightly different approach. Instead of 5 specific campaigns, I am going to share a few Instagram accounts I follow for inspiration. They are nothing special but places I tend to see interesting things that influence me.
Type01 – this is a collective that showcases work from various designers and foundries.
…There are also various foundries I follow for similar inspiration.
Panagram - https://www.instagram.com/pangram.pangram/
Grilli - https://www.instagram.com/grillitype/
Lineto - https://www.instagram.com/lineto_com/
Commercial Type - https://www.instagram.com/commercialtype_studio/
Typetopia - https://www.instagram.com/typetopia/ – Not sure who these folks are but they also have a great account with color palettes called TopiaTones.
AdAge – always great to see what the industry is calling out. Here are some of my faves from their recent posts:
Fisher-Price Mobile Phone - https://www.instagram.com/tv/CVQoltcBm1m/
Google COVID Vaccine - https://www.instagram.com/tv/CNVlf5ln-w6/
Apple StartUp - https://www.instagram.com/tv/CVL3TWiJPqN/
Under Consideration – recent branding & rebrand case studies. https://www.instagram.com/ucllc/
You Are Typography – a great collection of type from all over. https://www.instagram.com/youaretypography/
Type Posters – I find this helpful when I am trying to think of impactful ways to consider layouts in key art. https://www.instagram.com/typosters/
Sorry for being a rule-breaker.
Have a great week,
Alex

Hello! Hope everyone’s Monday is going well. Here are a few pieces of creative I think are cool and could inspire new ways of thinking about our campaigns and creative. I’m passing the baton to @Judson, Alex
Hello! Hope everyone’s Monday is going well. Here are a few pieces of creative I think are cool and could inspire new ways of thinking about our campaigns and creative. I’m passing the baton to @Judson, Alex
Squid Game- Red Light Green light
Netflix took the horrifying “red light/green light” doll from Squid Game and placed life-sized versions around the world in major cities from Australia to the Philippines. I think this is truly an inspired (and terrifying) stunt that gained a lot of attention and added depth to the marketing campaign . I would have liked to see this in Times Square!
Here's another link
Succession Title Sequence
The main titles for Succession perfectly captures the tone of the show. From the score to the visuals, I can’t look away and find myself watching the whole thing every episode. Fun fact – updated for season 3 the clip of Waystar Studios @ 23 seconds is actually the FOX lot in LA. I used to work there and drove onto the lot every day for years at this entrance. Also saw Rupert a handful of times, and Hope Hicks getting her own coffee. Wait, was I working at Waystar?
West Side Story Key Art
How do you make a classic love story feel fresh? See the West Side Story campaign created by the agency Gravillis. The pieces I’m highlighting bring unit photography to the next level. Recently, the KA direction for many of our campaigns is to make it feel real and unposed. I think the WSS campaign is an excellent example of elevating unit photography to make it feel premium. It also gives a modern, fresh feel to a classic, popular story.
Here are a few other pieces
Bad Typography
We all remember several years ago when the wrong film was read for best picture at the Oscars. This is a video that reminds us how important good typography is and how we, as designers, have an important role in communicating ideas. Also, how design is everywhere and far reaching. From street signs to pill bottles design is EVERYWHERE. After watching this video, I honestly believe bad design/typography changed the course of history when Al Gore lost the election in 2000. It wasn’t just pregnant chads, it was bad design.
Time Cover – Zuckerberg
Over the years, Time Magazine has done its share of provocative covers. This one from late October is so simple yet so effective and really resonates with me. Is it time to delete facebook? I struggle with this question regularly. (scroll down a bit in the article to see the cover)
Have a great week!
Best,
Lindsey
