        – SHORP. this !! is a quick thank you psa !! idk i was replying to shit the other day and just ?? it suddenly hit me just how much ??  darce has changed since the moment i first came up w/ his persona. he was meant to be someone who didn’t give a shit about anyone else other than the higher ups in skull & his pokemon. someone who wouldn’t go out of his way to actually do anything for someone else. but now he’s saying stuff, doing stuff & feeling stuff that he wouldn’t have back then & this is all ?? thanks to everyone who has repeatedly interacted w/ him ?? continuously bothered him ?? his growth is thanks to all of ya’ll that have helped me develop him as time went along ?? & just,, , , i wanted to thank you. it’s because of ya’ll that he is who he is now & i truly couldn’t be prouder :” >

WAS HE MAD? yes, undeniably so. if there was one thing red hated more than anything– it was losing. He was a sore loser, possibly the worst loser. The ‘away’ team had them beat from the start, perhaps that’s why they cut the game short and called it a day. But even by the time Red had retired to the Baking club in the hopes that the sweet scent of whatever Darce was cooking would wipe the irritation from his brow. the loss still stung though, with that dumb fucking plaster masking the gash he had created in diving head first into home plate making him feel like a complete FAILURE— even the most delicious scent couldn’t make him smile.

Crimson eyes glance up to meet Darce’s before falling to the floor again– he didn’t want to say it, but it would be stupid not to now.     ❛ —  lost again. ❜

        when he turned around to face his friend, upon gazing on the wound that rested on the other, his immediate response was ANGER. a mental swear was made to get back at whoever had hurt red-- whoever had caused that PAINED expression that rested on the other’s visor ( it hurt just to see him hurt ). however, that was quickly ( but not completely ) washed away when he heard the two words, a frown immediately forming at the very thought. 

        annoyance sets in at the word ‘ again ‘, huffing & turning his back to the other for a few seconds. grabbing one of the many treats that laid across the table’s surface, he turns once more to stuff the darkened brownie in red’s mouth, a displeased expression obvious & apparent on his face. 

        -- ❝ ‘nd i failed again. boo hoo-- get ‘ver it. y’didn’t spend all those years runnin’ down th’cursed field just t’mope around’bout a loss, did ya ? sulking won’t bring th’win-- your plays will. ‘n y’can’t get those when y’look like y’bout t’cry. ❞

“Mmm-hm!” She confirms with a nod. She had to admit, she found it kind of adorable how he just kept staring at the egg with such interest, giggling when he poked it. 

“Hmm, I’m not sure…right now it doesn’t seem that close to hatching. Maybe I will take a walk around the routes with it so that can speed up the hatching process just a little!”

        his very first thought went to his haunter, confusion muddling his mind. ghost pokemon came from eggs too ? do they just phase out of their egg when they’re born ?? 

        said questions are quickly shaken away ( but the confusion still resides ) when he hears her voice, features immediately lighting up at the mere thought of the little one hatching. ❝ ... c’n i, uh--, ❞ the words come out awkward, slight hesitation evident in his voice ( as well as obvious excitement ), ❝ -- c’n i hold’t ? i c’n join y’on th’walk. ❞

“ God fuckin’ damn it, ” How do you lose a pokemon that shines? Oh right, ragou can shapeshift but, Jiro’s not gonna tell the cool as heck’ looking gansta that his pokemon could be anything by now. “ He’s an asshole, that’s how. ”

        a snort escapes him, hand reaching up to cover his mouth as he stares at the other in amusement. internally uttering the words same, thoughts immediately focusing on his own banette for a few seconds ( because really-- pokemon’s being assholes is something he can relate to ) ❝ rather th’n lose-- sounds more like he run away fr’m you. ❞

❝ oh. ❞  is all he musters as he crouches to pick up kyu, there’s no solemness nor real evidence he had taken in what the stranger had said, much rather his smile seeped across his lips as he held the pokémon, ignoring the trainer for just a moment,  ❝ see kyu, now i’m in trouble! we should get you a cute ass propeller hat or something until i get to know your face. ❞   that would be cute as fuck, did they sell those in alola? who knows. but smile falters as golden eyes lift from kyu to this guy, was that a THREAT? 

                        ❝ watch yourself, skully, GREED’s an UGLY sin. ❞

        sight is trained on the other as he watched their every movement, hands ever so slightly tightening their grip over his precious little friend. brows frown in slight confusion ( & in slight annoyance at the motion of being ignored ), before they’re raised in minute amusement at the thought of a mimikyu in a propeller hat. his own gaze moves to stare at his own pokemon, toying with the thought of stealing him a hat before the train of thought is broken off by the other’s voice.
