“Old A.I.M. I wasn’t aware there was a new A.I.M.” Then again, he’s still having a hard time grasping the idea of S.H.I.E.L.D. Jonas grumbled a bit, surprised at the large figure barreling towards them. As clumsy as it was menacing, he couldn’t help but sigh.
“That is an abomination.” He said. “And I tire of this.” A small grin spread across his lips, thinking of the phrase he had first thought of when discovering his powers. “In the dark, Scorpion, I am the strongest. But I am not completely defenseless here.”
He didn’t wait for her to aim, instead he jumped up and scaled the wall, knuckles and the balls of his foot having to be active while clawing at the smooth surface, before punching out the light with his own hand. As the shadows hung over them, he hung from the broken light fixture with one hand. Waiting for perfect the moment to drop down, he threw himself away from the light, two hands clasped into a hammer fist to land on the Walrus’s neck, shouting a bit as the monster went down. On the ground, he stood on the neck of the creature, and elbowed the back of his head, knocking his face into the ground.
He got up and huffed, standing on the brown mass of flesh with tusks. “I’d request we go now.”
His natural instinct was to squat, as he often did before combat and idle conversation, so he gave into that instinct, putting himself into a squat. He leaned forward on his knuckles, waiting to spring himself off of the floor. “This is trivial.” He muttered, watching his green clad acquaintance check the clearing. He shot up, jogging a bit to reach her. With his foot, he nudged one of the unconscious men, eyes narrowing further into interrogative slits. “I doubt they would leave themselves so defenseless when guarding their leader.” Jonas pointed out, cracking his knuckles, sticking to the shadows of the room.

His eyes narrowed. “That is no comfort.” He muttered, trekking along. His hands clenched to fists when they reach the group they’re targeting. Jonas was never good at stealth operations, they weren’t his strong suit. He witnessed the flooding of the air around him with gas, waving a hand around his nose for it to disperse. “And you are certain this will work? I could have easily done this with my fists.”

“I will.” Jonas said, trying to keep up with the banter of this conversation. His eyes widened. “Nothing I’ve encountered can kill me.” His eyes glanced from side to side, although the lack of visible pupils or irises would make it a futile effort. “And how are you expected to survive this?”

how are you so quiet about it? your sadness i mean. how do you hold it in your chest, in your eyes, in your teeth without letting it speak; how does it stay still?

“I will not lie to you, I don’t understand most of that first part, nor do I know who those people are. But for the sake of time I will smile and nod. Does that sound good? Good.”

“The Young X-men program was to train the next generation of mutants. It did not start of well, and that’s why I was... inducted. But it’s continued program was... nice, I suppose. It was rigorous training and very dysfunctional, but it was more important that we did good.”

“Lame? No, it doesn’t sound lame. I was part of the Young X-men program, for what good we did. I was not aware the Avengers had a program such as us.”
“They didn’t. Not really. Vision had a built-in failsafe program which was to be used if the Avengers ever disbanded. Iron Lad, aka Kang the Conquerer, used it to recruit us and we became the Young Avengers. The actual Avengers weren’t too taken with the idea, but I think we’ve proved our worth to them. I have to say, I am interested in hearing about the Young X-Men program. What was that like?”

“I’ve seen the power of frivolous talk. Save it for the locker room. Your own, personal, locker room, however.” Jonas grunted, taking steps forward. “No, I do nothing of the sort. I am the strongest there is in the dark.”

“You underestimate the power of frivolous talk. It’s a nerves thing, keeps everybody calm, maintains a lighthearted atmosphere.” She does start moving, though. “Anyway, what can you do? Making explosions would be cool. Helpful, too.”
