Comfort
Day eight Comfort
This is a continuation of day two
"I used to hate your guts"
The next few days were awkward. Mikasa returned to school feeling the urge to avoid Eren and their uncomfortable situation. In an unspoken agreement, they stayed away from each other.
It might have been unbearable for her if not for her friends. And him... the day after Levi had taken her to the cafe she came to her locker that morning to find a daffodil taped to her locker and a note. It said (cheer up and keep going).
Her best friend Sasha was full of curiosity and kept asking if she had a secret admirer. She knew what had conspired between Mikasa and Eren. The girl code of best friend required her to be on Mikasa's side but sadly, even she thought the two were not meant to be. She thought Mikasa needed someone who could appreciate her more. Eren had always been too oblivious to her feelings.
The flower cheered Mikasa up a bit. She saw Levi around a few times that day. He always gave her a wave. Sasha saw one exchange of theirs when Levi had politely held the door for them with a friendly "Ackerman" in greeting. The fact that Mikasa didn't immediately start glaring at him set off her radar. She tried to plow her friend with curious questions.
Mikasa just brushed off her questions. Even she wasn't sure about anything yet. It was easier to focus on getting by every day.
Over the coming weeks, she began to find more flowers showing up on her locker. A few weeks after the daffodil came a daisy. She found herself looking up flower meanings. Daffodil meant sympathy. The Daisy was patience. His words from before echoed.
Weeks passed and the hurt finally started fading. It hurt to accept but as she thought more about the situation she was glad that she had done it. Letting her feelings go was better than never letting go at all. She started smiling at Levi when they passed each other. Occasionally stopping to exchange friendly words. He was surprisingly easy to get along with when there wasn't any animosity. She found herself being amused by his humor.
A month after came a white hyacinth. Loveliness.
She learned his mother was a florist. Learned how they were really close and enjoyed tea together. She began to realize that she was starting to find him attractive. It was after this revelation that she received a lily. Flirtation.
She reconciled with Eren two months later. He was surprised by her closeness with Levi but was also happy. He had always cared about her. Also, he never told Mikasa the reason for his fight with Levi might have been due to a stupid short joke. (Ok maybe a few.)
Mikasa read the book she bought on flowers meanings and felt happy. Earlier that morning had been violets. White ones to be exact. She had gone to the flower shop and even met Levi's mother. After a friendly chat Kuchel Ackerman was happy to meet the girl she knew her son was smitten with and after hearing about his flowers directed Mikasa to her own bunch.
She came to school armed and waiting. He was waiting by her locker per her order by text. She held the flowers behind her at first. "I used to hate your guts once" "And now?" He questioned. She smiled and handed him a bouquet of Ambrosia. Reciprocated love. She thought she heard him breath "thank god" before kissing him.

Mamihlapinatapai
Day six
He sees her every day at the same coffee shop. She always comes in and sits at the same table. Her hair was midnight black beautifully contrasting with her red scarf. It had been a month and Levi had yet to find the nerve to even approach her. Over his morning coffee, he’d feign at reading his book while shyly peeking over the top every now and then. She always came in by herself at least, he consoled himself. He cursed his own cowardice but when it came to members of the opposite sex he was a mess.
She picks up her empty cup and handbag before leaving. Levi sighed wistfully to himself. ‘Fuck.’
The next day he ran into a friend of his. Hange Zoe. They happily accompanied him to the shop, chattering about their pet cats. Levi made a sarcastic comment every now and then but their presence was a nice distraction. As they sat and talked Hange watched their friend. After being friends for years they picked up a surprising amount. To the untrained eye, Levi could seem cold and stoic. They wouldn’t pick up on the fact that they froze when the black haired girl walked in or the subtle lightening quick peeks at her when he thought he wouldn’t be noticed.
Hange watched the girl walk past and sit at her table. Hange also noticed the girl briefly glance at Levi before pulling out a book. Hange grinned.
“Are you even listening to me, four eyes?” Levi waved his hand in front of their face. “Nope.” Hange was filled with determination now. They stood up suddenly. Levi eyed them wearily. “What are you doing?” “Getting you an early birthday present.” they said.
“It’s July. And what the hell are you talking about?” Hange ruffled his hair up playfully causing him to yell. “I’m getting you a girlfriend,” Levi could only watch in horror as Hange walked up to the black haired girl and started talking to her. He sat and grabbed his coffee cup, gripping it tightly enough that his knuckles turned white. Thoughts of how slow and how many ways to murder his friend raced through his mind. He was sure his jaw would shatter if he gritted his teeth any harder. A flash of red caught his eye and he watched the girl leave the shop. Most likely never to return. “Well, that’s that.” Hange sat opposite him.
Levi couldn’t say anything. “So…” Hange drawled. He glared at them. They merely grinned. “I gave her your number. She’s on her way to work now. You can thank me later.”
Before he could say anything his phone vibrated with an incoming text. Hi. My name is Mikasa Ackerman. Sorry I didn’t have time to talk but would you like to meet here tonight?
He smiled and sent a reply. Yeah

Power
Day three
Strength
How we got this far
Levi thought he knew what strength was.
His hand was crushed tightly as Mikasa gritted her teeth. “You’re doing fine” the midwife soothed.
“You’re never touching me again!” She screamed at her husband.
He ignored her and picked up a handkerchief to wipe her sweaty forehead.
He had slaughtered countless titans. Was once dubbed humanities strongest soldier.
“I hate you, Levi!” Another bone crushing grip. “I’m sorry” she panted.
That seemed like nothing compared to her. This. He felt truly and completely helpless now. Watching Mikasa fight to bring their unborn child into the world was a true marvel.
There was nothing he could do to help. No opponent he could fight. He could only sit by her side and watch her do this on her own.
“I can see the head. You just need to push a bit more.” The midwife told her.
For all of his victories, they couldn’t even come close to this.
A loud cry filled the room. Levi never thought something so messy would be so beautiful but watching the woman he loved bringing their child into the world was truly magical.
Mikasa cried in happiness and relief. Levi watched as his daughter was washed and wrapped in a blanket. She handed her to Mikasa and left the happy family alone for a bit. Mikasa cooed over her daughter and pressed kisses to her forehead repeatedly.
Levi sat by them feeling prouder than he thought was possible.

Sun and moon
Sun and moon
Day two
I just want to thank @aboutmikasa for her help and encouragement on this.
###################################
Levi Ackerman was leaving school. It had been overcast all day but now it was starting to sprinkle. He started walking towards his car when he spotted a flash of red and a familiar scarf.
Mikasa Ackerman.
She was a junior and a class beneath him. Normally he’d ignore her. He had thought she was pretty when he first saw her but they never got along since the time he got in a fight with her annoying friend Eren. While he was watching her the sprinkle swiftly turned to a downpour. He cursed and was about to run for his car until he glanced at her.
She didn’t seem to care about the rain though and looked for all the world like someone had run over her puppy. His mothers rule about always being a gentleman nagged him and with a sigh he walked over to her. “Hey” he said.
She looked at him with teary eyes. “Do you need a ride home?” He asked. She bit her lip and shrugged. With a frustrated sigh he started pulling her to his car. She gave no resistance and merely followed along.
He instructed her to put her bag in the back seat and tried to ignore the fact that she was potentially tracking mud into his spotless car. After they were buckled in he started asking where she lived.
She burst into tears. Levi hated crying girls. “What the hell is wrong?” He asked bluntly.
Mikasa turned to the boy that she used to hate. It was such a bizarre situation for her that she found herself answering. “I told him how I felt and he rejected me.”
He stared at her. “I told the boy I loved how I felt and he said he couldn’t see me like a girlfriend” she cried.
Levi knew she was talking about Yeager. ‘What an idiot’ “Forget him, then. If he’s too much of a dumbass to see you then you don’t need him.” He started his car. “I have an idea.”
She sat in silent contemplation as he drove. It hurt to think about. Eren had been her friend since childhood. She had started crushing on him through middle school and now..
“We’re here” They were at a cafe. “They make the best damn hot chocolate. My treat.” He pulled out an umbrella and came around to her side. She got out and huddled under. They quickly made their way inside and got settled in a booth. Levi ordered for them.
The waitress soon returned and put down two huge cups topped with a mountain of whipped cream and two slices of silk pie.
“Thank you,” Mikasa said. He was right. The hot chocolate was delicious. She felt her mood lifting and found herself looking at Levi. She was surprised he was treating her so nicely.
“Better? He asked. She nodded.
"You know. I never imagined us being like this” she told him. “To be honest, I always thought you were a jerk.” She looked down. “Guess I was wrong. I’m sorry.”
“It’s nothing.” He replied. She smiled at him. He noticed a bit of whipped cream by her lip and without thinking reached over to wipe it off. She blushed and pulled her scarf up. While they ate they chatted about stuff.
After finishing their food he drove her home. “You know,” he said. “Just because Yeager is too stupid to notice you doesn’t mean there aren’t other guys that don’t.”
She smiled before taking a deep breath and leaning over to kiss his cheek.
“I’ll keep that in mind.” She got out and walked away.
Levi watched her go inside before smirking. He figured he would give her a few weeks before asking her out. Good thing Yeager was an idiot.
###################################
I think this only vaguely follows the prompt of differences but I just couldn’t get a good idea.

Goodbye
Day one
Goodbyes
“I bought you your tea, dear” Mikasa walked into their bedroom and set the tray down on his nightstand. For a moment she just stood gazing sadly at him. At eighty years old Levi looked somewhat smaller. His illness made it worse.
She gently touched Levi’s wrinkled hand waking him from a light doze. He smiled wearily at her before struggling to sit up. She reached out to help and fluffed his pillows. After he was situated she handed him his linden tea. His hands shook as he held the teacup. He took a sip and began coughing violently. The cup fell from his hand spilling warm tea on the blanket. “Shit!” He cursed weakly.
“Oh!” Mikasa reached out to help.
“I’m sorry” he grumbled glaring at his hands. Those hands used to be capable of so much. From killing titans to lifting his children. Now…. A week ago what had seemed like a simple cold had escalated rapidly. They had been sadly informed that it would not be much longer.
“It’s just a little spilled tea, dear” Mikasa told him gently. She got him a new blanket and more tea while talking about their children and friends coming to visit. He just listened to her voice. That familiar soothing voice he loved to hear every day.
“Are you even listening to me?” She asked. He shook his head. “No. Too busy thinking about how lovely you are.”
“You silly old man” she laughed. A laugh that slowly faded to a quiet sad smile. “You should get some more rest.” “Come lay with me.” he whispered. She tucked him in and crawled into bed with him snuggling closely.
Levi felt peaceful then. Though his body had ached for years in these moments he felt a weight being lifted. He weakly put his arm over Mikasa and held her as tightly as he could. “We had a good life together” he said. “Thank you for putting up with me so long.”
“Hush” she murmured softly. “I loved every minute of our life together.”
“Somehow I doubt that.” He teased playfully earning a quiet snort of feigned annoyance. “Seriously, thank you Mikasa. I’m happy.”
He enjoyed feeling her breathing. She still had years to live on. Grandchildren to fuss over. He their children and friends would watch over her until she could join him. She fell asleep leaving him to watch the shadows from the candle on his nightstand.
While he was lying there he heard a sweet voice that he hadn’t heard in years. He looked at her in astonishment. “Mom?” He whispered in disbelief.
She nodded and held out her hand. Without thinking he reached out to take it and felt her grip it tightly. “It’s time to go now.” She told him. He turned to Mikasa who slept on, oblivious to everything.
“She’ll be alright,” Kuchel said reassuringly. When he stood up he felt none of the aches and pains that had accompanied him for so long. It wasn’t even a shock to see his old body being left behind. He leaned down and pressed a ghostly kiss to his sleeping wife. “Goodbye” he whispered. “You can still keep an eye on her” his mom assured him. “ Come on home now, son. Everyone is waiting to see you.”
With one last wistful gaze to Mikasa he turned and left. The candle blew out in a gust of wind.
It felt cold. Like an icy wind had blown through. Mikasa woke almost wondering if she had left the window open. That wouldn’t be good for Levi. She glanced at her sleep husband and felt something was wrong.
“Levi?” She touched his face and froze. He felt cold. She shook him. “Levi? Levi!” He didn’t respond. She felt her throat tighten before whimpering. Her hand covered her eyes. She couldn’t hold back the building sorrow and finally broke down into heart-wrenching sobs.
###################################
It was a somber day that passed. After the funeral was over and everyone had said words of consolation to the grieving widow they left one by one until only mother and daughter were left.
“I just need a few minutes, dear” Mikasa told her daughter.
Mikoto reluctantly left her by the grave and whispering a farewell to her father. Mikasa watched her walk away before turning to the Headstone. In her hand was a bouquet of flowers. The headstone was engraved. Levi Ackerman. A hero. A husband and a father.
She stood in silent contemplation thinking about everything. Of their life together. Regrets. Maybe there was nothing more to be said though but “I love you and goodbye.”
She laid the flowers down and sighed. A gust of wind blew gently and she thought it felt like a soft caress. With a sad smile she touched the headstone once more.
###################################
Ugh. I tried really hard. Sorry if this is too cliche or lousy.

Want
“You’re going to have a fun time with your uncle Eren.” Mikasa told her daughter. Mikoto frowned at her mom. “ But what about you and daddy?”
“They’ll be fine” Eren said winking at his sister suggestively. He gleefully noted the blush on her cheeks. “But what will you do without me?” Mikoto continued unaware of the adults' exchange. Mikasa blurted out the first thing that came to mind. “Cleaning! Daddy and I need to clean.”
Eren laughed. “ A lot of cleaning.” He yelped as Mikasa pinched his arm. “I’ll see you in two days. Have fun” She loved her daughter dearly but it had been a long time since she and Levi had any significant amount of alone time and she was going to take full advantage.
Levi was glad to be home. Even though he loved his tea shop he always looked forward the day he closed the shop once a week. “I’m home” he called upon walking in. It was quiet. He hung his coat up. “Mikasa?”
He found her in the kitchen. She was cooking some delicious smelling meal. “Hey” he greeted her. She turned to him with a smile. “Welcome home dear. Go get cleaned up and get ready for dinner.” “Where’s Mikoto?” He asked.
“With her uncle. Now go get ready” she ordered.
“For what?” He raised an eyebrow as she stalked towards him. She slammed him against the wall and kissed him fiercely.
“ We have a long night of cleaning” she whispered seductively.

Smile
Smile
Levi stared into the bassinet at his sleeping daughter and smiled. Mikoto Ackerman had made her entrance into the world. Her mother was asleep and taking a well deserved rest.
He gently reached his hand in to softly touch her tiny hand, marveling at how something so delicate came from the two people dubbed the strongest. He swore to protect her from as much as he possibly could.
“Levi?” A sleepy voice murmured. He turned to his wife. “You should be sleeping.” He said. She stretched and stood up to join him. “Tch, stubborn” he pulled her down to sit in his lap. She laid her head on his and together they gazed at their sleeping daughter. He hugged her and pressed a kiss to her before whispering “Thank you, Mikasa”

Dirt
She always smelled like earth when she came from the garden. Her basket full of vegetables. She always wore her large sunhat. He never thought he would love the smell of dirt until he loved her. His arms would come around her as she giggles and half-heartedly tries to push him away. “I thought you hated getting messy” she teased. He’d bury his nose in her neck and breath deeply. “It’s not so bad on you” he replied.

Red Ribbon
“Do you have everything, Mikasa?” Keiko Ackerman asked kindly. Mikasa clutched her new lunchbox. “Yes, mama.” She was all set for her first day of kindergarten. She had packed her backpack all on her own. She was wearing her new dress and her mom had tied a pretty red ribbon in her hair.
Her mom drove to Maria Elementary school. Mikasa felt nervous and excited. She was looking forward to starting school but would miss her mom. Her mom talked about all the fun she would have and the friends she would make.
Before too long they arrived and Mikasa watched all the other children with their parents. She held her mom’s hand tightly. Her mom led her to her new classroom. A lady with copper colored hair greeted them warmly and said her name was Miss Ral.
“I’ll be your teacher. It’s very nice to meet you, Mikasa.” Mikasa nodded shyly. Miss Ral showed her where her cubbyhole was. As Mikasa was putting her bag away she felt a soft tug on her hair as her ribbon was pulled out. She cried out and turned to see a short, black haired boy. He turned and ran. Mikasa gave chase. She saw him run behind a new woman talking to Miss Ral.
“Mama, that boy took my ribbon!” she cried.
“Levi!” the woman scolded. He scowled as his mom took the ribbon back. “Now, apologize.”
Mikasa’s mom calmed her daughter down and retied her ribbon. “There, all better.”  Mikasa glared angrily at the unrepentant boy.
This would be Mikasa and Levi’s first encounter.
