i always feel bad for katara in the context of her life after atla because like, she's fourteen when this twelve year old avatar decides that she's his forever girl. and the whole world knows it and even if she'd eventually left aang, she would always have somewhat been the avatar's girl. maybe it looked like she had a choice but she didn't, not really. even if she eventually would have chosen aang that choice was taken away from her. that stings.

I think Zuko would be reluctant to have children and spend years agonizing over it out of fear that he’ll be anything like his own father. Even after he decides he’s ready, he still has that lingering fear.

But as soon as he looks into baby Izumi’s eyes for the first time, Zuko can finally put that fear to rest. That’s his baby, his daughter, and he instantly knows he’d die for her. He loves her so much and he knows in his heart he could never ever bring himself to hurt her.
