My problem with Mabel was that she was constantly selfish, loud, impulsive, bullying towards her brother and single handedly helped start the end of the world and NEVER apologized for it. The villain of the series literally called her out on it but she is never made accountable for her actions.

Yeah she has her good moments but usually only after being pushed into them.

She still has her part and I understand her character as the crazy to Dipper’s straight man but still I wanted to shake her till I heard the cops come more often than anything else.

You only hate Mabel because she’s a female character who messes up. If she was a male character you wouldn’t have any problems with her.

ie ‘Don’t be nice to cishet people because they hate you and will hate you even if you try’. That’s arousing fear. Fear that even if you try to do something it won’t help and you’ll still be hated. Being hated is a scary thing for many people because hate can lead to terrible things happening, and if you tell people that doing something, especially a positive thing like being civil or nice (or as you put it ‘kissing ass’) won’t help because people will still hate you, that puts fear into people and can cause them to give up or not try.

So yeah, I know what fear mongering means.
