Yessss. It's something I really like about the evolution of Sidesteps relationship with their puppet. At first, they are tool. And even as the reader you are conditioned to see the possession as practical, necessary. No different than a change of clothes.

But as you discover more of Aces story, the life this body had, the memories that are starting to resurface it hits you so much more that they were/are a person.

And every individual Sidesteps milage will vary but for me it was very much oh..... even tho I don't kill I might still very well be a monster. Esp if the puppet is afraid of Sidestep.

Maybe I saved their life but I also used them for my own purposes and desires for years. Something Sidestep would be intimately familiar with. And they still did it.

I think about this sentence a lot. It's a small one. Blink and you miss it. You probably don't give it much thought. It's dropped on it's own right before you meet Mortum. Easy to hide, easy to miss.

It's such a specific phrasing, though. You don't take them to Joes, you don't puppet them, you don't even go to Joes as them. You wear the Puppet. Like a fancy coat or a new pair of shoes. You put them on to look more presentable, more approachable, more acceptable, because you yourself are not. They are just another mask Sidestep puts on.

Do they wear perfume/cologne? If so what scents do they prefer?

Do they have any tattoos? If so what are they and do they have any special meaning?

Do they believe in fate or do they believe they are in charge of their own destiny?

Are they religious? If so do they have a strong sense of faith, are they uncertain, or are they somewhere in between?

What are their dreams like? Do they have any recurring dreams/nightmares?

Would they ever crash a wedding?

If they found a sword in a stone would they try to pull it out? How would they react to being able to pull it out or not?

Do they learn from their mistakes?

Can they speak multiple languages? If yes which all do they speak and why?

Can they handle stressful situations?

Who, if anyone, would they trust with their deepest secrets?

Do they plan in advance or just wing it?

Would they lie to get out of trouble?

Would they lie to get someone else out of trouble? Even if they would have to take that someone else's place?

How likely are they to go on a quest for revenge?

Do they have trouble keeping their enemies and their friends straight?

What is your favorite thing about them?

Can your Sidestep play an instrument?

I think Tegan can play the piano. It was trained into him at the Farm. A less dangerous form of infiltration, the pretense of playing the piano allows you to stay it one place for a long time and would be able to pick up the thoughts of anyone in the room. 

He hasn’t kept up the skill since his escapes but could probably fall back into easily. 

If he were to choose an instrument for fun it might be drums but something that big and loud isn't compatible with staying unnoticed by your neighbors. Maybe he’d get a drum set for his base tho.
