An annoyed groan escaped from the vice-captain as she crossed her arms under her chest, looking at Mai with both concern && annoyance. She was annoyed because the girl started to say things BEFORE Mireia could say something. Mira didn’t want to lecture her — Bello knew that the girl had heard EVERYTHING she needed in the office. Yeah, even the girls’ team was WILD in some ways.   “ Stop, ”    was the only thing the green haired said: cooly&cold, so the brunette will not try to say something more. Under golden gaze of ‘Queen’ not everyone could talk back, but she was using this glare not to scare off her teammate, but to talk to her normally — after. 

“ I know this was not your fault, Mai. I am merely concerned about you. I never intended on LECTURING you again. I wanted to get you to the nurse’s office and there help you with your bruises. Come on, how many years I’ve been kicking butts of other people — I mean, I can’t lecture you when I do the same, can I? ”

       She COULD have continued-- it would be easy to rant about how those jerks were ASKING for it. But she stops immediately at the word, teeth clicking together and lips pursing as she catches her words from escaping. ❛ Oh-- ❜ RELIEF is plain on her face now that the prospect of being lectured again isn’t hanging over her head, shoulders dropping as her tense posture begins to relax. 

      ❛ I guess I didn’t think of that, ❜ she admits with a sheepish grin, rubbing the back of her head for a moment. ❛ It’s not that bad though. ❜ Mai rubs a hand absently over the forming bruise on her cheek. it still HURT, but she’s gotten WORSE bruises from volleyball practice. ❛ They didn’t know how to throw a decent punch. ❜

                   ❛ I love them, ❜ she glances over towards him before refocusing her attention on the dog, ruffling his ears with a grin. ❛ I have a dog at home-- Takeshi. ❜ It was rare that she spoke so freely to someone, especially when that someone was a stranger. But dogs were the key to her heart, after all.

I was still trying to pick a dog for Mai to have and now i feel like it needs to be a Big™ dog for two reasons: 1. because she is teeny tiny, 2. so her and @itoryo can have Big Dog and Useless Bisexual bonding time

         ❛ That’s okay! ❜ Mai’s eyes sparkle as she immediately reaches out to pet the dog, crouching down with a grin to be closer to him. Getting to pet a dog makes every day better in her books.

       ❛ It wasn’t my fault this time, Mira-san. They started it, i wasn’t going to just sit there and let them talk like that, ❜ Mai’s posture is DEFENSIVE as she stares ( face still set in a soft glare ) at the vice-captain. There’s a rather PROMINENT bruise forming on her cheek, having lost a fight earlier in the day and just gotten freed from their faculty supervisor’s office after being LECTURED. She crosses her arms though, brows furrowed as she expects at least a few more before practice is over.

There’s a pause as she gathers her words before she speaks again. ❛ Your team is Nekoma so.... Does that mean you.. y’know... nya? ❜ She lifts a hand to emphasize her point, fingers curled over to form a paw.
