you had known seungmin since the age of two.

his family had moved into the home next to yours when they came over on a sunny day to introduce themselves. his beady eyes almost frightened you, but when he offered the cookies he was holding, you began to let go of your mother's hand.

similar to your story with sunoo, you easily became attached to seungmin. he was cute, giggly, and sweet. and most important, he was the boy you fell in love since the first grade when he gave you a bandaid after falling off the play ground.

of course, you weren't sure what you were meant to do with these feelings. your young age could simply not the understand the meaning of love in that instance.

by the time sunoo joined along, the three of you became attached to the hip. it was almost impossible to see one of you without the other and such expectations continued into freshman year of high school.

"i can't believe sunghoon hyung ditched us for that boy from australia!" seungmin wined, attempting to steal your cookie from your bag.

"he's fallen for the smile, but I can't blame him. look at him!" you exclaimed, admiring his visuals.

"go away with your jake fanclub yn!" sunoo teased, before noticing the upset look on seungmin. the bell rang ending the lunch period but before you could leave, seungmin pulled you to the side, asking you to meet him later.

that was the day he confessed to you.

"can you believe im finally dating seungmin!" you glanced at sunghoon who was just on his phone before throwing the pillow at his jaw.

"yah sunghoon! can't you hear me?" he only glanced momentarily before continuing to message jake.

it had been three months since the both of you got together. aside from more intimate forms of contact, nothing much had changed in your dynamic.

it was the happiest you had ever been.

but happiness can only go so far because you never expected seungmin to break up with you and leave unexpectedly.

it was the first time sunghoon had seen you in such conditions and it was then that he promised to himself to save you from a heart break.

being stubborn, you insisted on getting a response from seungmin and even took the liberty of going to his home where a big for sale sign mocked you.

no one knew where you had gone, no one, except jake, who had managed to see the bus ticket on your desk.

he was the one who found you crying on seungmin's porch and was the first to comfort you as rain poured.

you should have known better when you saw seungmin standing next to felix as you opened the front door. his nervous smile also taunted you and your brain did the one thing it new best, run.

sunghoon couldn't even process anything when you had already left his line of sight and it worried felix who stood oblivious at your reaction. on the other hand, seungmin tried running after you before being stopped by your brother.

you knew it'd be too easy to hide in the local cafe or even the dog shelter you visited, opting to run to a random convenience store.

while scrolling the shelves, you didn't notice the boy who was standing at the end of the isle. he noticed your presence first handing you the brand that you were likely searching for.

"im assuming you came for this?" you glance up and find jake extending his hand with your favorite ramen brand. normally, you'd be excited to see the man of your dreams, but today was different.

the moment your eyes met his, you broke down in the middle of isle, covering your eyes with the packet of ramen. jake, worried, pulled you in for a hug and softy patted your back to calm you down.

"its seungmin isn't it?" he confirmed, and only continued to hold you in silence.

when you finally calmed down, he paid for your ramen and sat with you by a table in the convenience store.

"thanks." you opened the container and took a bite while looking at the window.

"what happened?"

"seungmin. he's back. and he's friends with felix so when he came over, seeing his face brought back things I didn't know." jake only nodded, recalling the incident with seungmin.

although for everyone you had met only knew you as the girl head over heels for jake, before him it was seungmin. your first love.

"oh my god, I forgot to call my brother back, he must be worried sick." You felt guilty realizing you had left sunghoon to deal with it.

"come on, ill take you home." you accept his invitation and blankly stare at the picture in his car, taking notice it was a picture of the three of you with seungmin. you weren't sure why the picture was there; it was taunting you.

"yn! where were you, you had me so worried that even sunoo and i went searching for you." sunghoon hugs you and his eyes follow to jake who stands behind you.

"go in, ill be there in a bit." you turn back and give jake a quick hug and thank you before turning to head inside.

"thanks for taking care of her. i don't think there's any person better to be there with her now that seungmin is back."

"that's what best friends are for right?" jake clarifies and receives a smile from sunghoon.

"uh I think my mom made some extra dinner, and she'd be glad to see you."

"sure, why not."

sure, sunghoon still had some hatred for the boy, but at the end he knows jake is the boy who saved your heart. and your life.

with his head in the clouds, jake had not been himself in the last two weeks. his aim was worsening and frankly his coach was on his ass for not being the same soccer super star he is.

jake sim was not himself.

he was set on redeeming himself and his first start was breaking up with hyena, the girl he couldn't stand by any means.

yeah, she was nice or whatever, but she was too controlling and considered herself the best in the world. according to jake, she was wrong.

when jay's offer to go to their normal joint comes by, he takes it without question. he plans to enjoy himself and maybe solicit jays help on the way, or well that was the plan anyway.

the smell of old grease hit his nostrils when he hears the familiar bell, reminding him of every time he'd stop by with his normal group, including sunghoon.

they head to a booth in the back, expecting it to be disoccupied by how hidden the spot was. but considering a new set of nerves was starting to build, he'd have to think again.

jake was welcomed to his bestfriend hanging with you, felix, and your other friends. sunoo could only glance at him while delivering you a look.

"what are you guys doing here?" jay asks directly.

"ahh we came here to introduce felix to the spot, he's been wanting to get familiar with things." you respond signaling the others to make room for the both of them.

jay is the first to sit down and at noticing jake's hesitancy, sunghoon flicks his arm to get his attention to join them.

this was progress and although he'd expect to enjoy a normal conversation, it was quiet until sunoo and riki lightened the mood by sharing stories about all the men yujin and bahiyyih have liked.

yes, things were awkward, but at least he'd prefer to be back to square one than square zero.

"park yn open this door right now!" you could hear sunoo's voice from upstairs and walked down in your sweatpants and baggy t-shirt.

"im coming drama queen!" you shout back and open your door to find your four friends standing with ice cream in hand.

"we already ordered mcdonalds, so this is a break up special!" you smile slightly and watch as your friends pack into the living room as yujin lays out blankets and pillows.

"do you guys think I'm dumb for loving jake?" You ask while picking at the ice cream.

"ew riki! don't mention that." she hits riki playfully and sunoo reaches out for your hand.

he was right. sunoo was always right.

you wanted to hate jake, but he wasn't entitled to like you back. you were deep in thought when a knock on the door broke the silence. thinking it was sunghoon, you opened it without question and saw felix standing with a tub in hand next to sunghoon.

"look who came over yn." sunghoon comes in and finds the answer to his question has he sees the dry tears on your cheek with ice cream in hand.

"You posted that you were sad so I brought brownies! I made them myself may I add." in response, you gave felix a hug and thanked him while skipping with the brownies ushering him to sit with your friends.

"im guessing you know about jake?" You silently nod and begin to recap felix on everything despite knowing him only two days.

"that explains why sunghoon punched him then. but like your friends said, we got your back." He gives you another hug and you're interrupted again by the door.

"huh?" jay and jungwon stand nervously with some flowers in hand.

"we came to check up on you." they led themselves in and joined the pit forming in your living room.

"felix?" You called out and saw a blonde boy patiently waiting by the bench on the entrance scrolling aimlessly through his phone.

his head turned towards your direction, and he immediately smiled once recognizing your face from the twitter profile.

"yep, nice to meet you yn!" you found yourself surprised by his cheerful attitude at such time of day, reminding you of your own best friend sunoo.

"come on, we can start the tour over there."

while at first it seemed awkward, given that felix was still getting used to korean, towards the end, he managed to get a few laughs out of you.

"wait so you play soccer right ?"

"back in my home town I did, im not sure if I'll be joining the team here." felix answered honestly.

"Well I heard they're looking for more players, come on. they're at practice right now and I've got a couple friends on the team."

sure, you weren't ready to face jake yet, but if it meant doing a good deed then maybe you could suck it up.

however what you weren't prepared for was to see jake and sunghoon rolling around on the grass, tackling one another with jay and sunghoon trying to stop them.

"hoon!" confused, felix watches as you run to the duo and attempt to break them out of it, none of which react seeing as jake shoves you and jay to the side causing you to fall.

"yn! look what you did fucking asshole!" sunghoon stops mid-fighting to check on you and looks back to land a punch straight to jake's nose causing him to stumble back.

"I'm fine hoon, but I told you not to fight anyone and especially jake." you scold.

"please don't tell me you're defending him right now yn. he broke your heart and called you nasty words." he reminds you while you glance at jake who's holding tissues to wipe the blood off.

"I just don't want any one getting hurt and especially you hoon. so please, let's go before I drag you myself." sunghoon picks up his bag and does not spare a glance at jake or his other friends and follows you with felix.

"felix I'm so sorry about this, it wasn't what I wanted or expected."

"nah its fine. there's plenty of time." you affirm his sincerity with his smile and bring sunghoon forward.

"this is sunghoon by the way, he's my older brother. and this is felix, the new transfer."

synopsis: if hogwarts thought the biggest rivals to date were the gryffindors and slytherins then they clearly weren't ready for park sunghoon and park jongseong. along the way, you naturally stayed away from jongseong due to your best friend status with sunghoon, but what happens when you're dragged into tutoring the gryffindor quidditch captain, aka park jongseong.

a part of sunghoon was hoping you'd at least talk to him during the entrance ceremony. the two of you were in the same house after all.

yuna joined soobin who was seated in front of jake at the hufflepuff table. wonyoung and jungwon were greeted by sunoo and riki over at the slytherin table. and finally, leaving jay with his friends taehyun, beomgyu, heeseung, and yeonjun at the gryffindor table.

that left you seated next to kai while trying to avoid sunghoon's blatant gaze.

"first off, as some of you may know, we will be hosting the triwizard tournament, which will be joining together three schools including ours. so please help me welcome the ladies from Beauxbatons Academy of Magic." in flutter like wonder, butterflies waltz into the room's air. the ladies came into the room dressed in blue, flowy dresses catching the attention of students in the room. and while you shouldn't be caring, you couldn't help but notice the eyes that one of them particularly had on sunghoon.

"also help me welcome, the gentlemen from Durmstrang Institute!" beating vibrations can be felt at the tip of your feet as men come marching into the room. the room goes silent in awe and at the end, hyunjin, one of the most prestigious quidditch players, comes in at the end next to their director.

"starting today, we will be collecting the names of students into this cup!" your director pulls the sheet off revealing its glowing beauty.

"as some of you may know, following tradition, Hogwarts will be having two competitors in remembrance to Harry Potter. we will be soon seeing who can get the glory." the students are dismissed and you leave with kai, avoiding sunghoon and instead hoping to get back safely.

and you succeeded.

you managed to avoid him another full day, locking yourself in the library instead. yet what you didn't know was that sunghoon and jay were in there too, but on opposite corners. while they couldn't care less about each other's presence, they began to notice how often hyunjin kept passing by, particularly all the teasing glances his teammates kept giving him while looking in your direction.

sunghoon was tired and caught up to you when he saw you leave for the room where the cup was being held.

"y/n wait!" he forced him into your view.

"look I'm sorry for being an ass, you didn't deserve that and you're right. I just really need you back." You let out a sigh and pull him into a hug.

"I forgive you, but you better keep your tantrums down, got it?" Sunghoon delivers a smile and drags you with him while you watch him drop his name into the cup. behind him, join jake, heeseung and jay in entering their names.

everyone cheers for the favorites, but it drops silent when hyunjin walks into the room and deliverd his name and you can't ignore the look he gives you before leaving the room.

and if one thing was certain, was that it would not be ignored by neither jay or sunghoon. a subtle jealousy coming through.
