I'm just heartbroken at the loss of Narayama Johnson. I'm not sure I could count the number of times I've listened to Riverboy's music during my workday.
So I just wanted to say
for your beautiful work and passion and sharing with all of us. Rest well.

I'm heartbroken. Nothing short of one of the most amazing artists I've had the pleasure to experience the work of. Rest Well.
Rest in peace, River Boy. We’ll listen to you, still.
Edit, and for context:

He of Havoc, He of Blight, She of Hunger, They of Might
~~~
Full textless, and a bit of process
Version with card borders here
I've always wanted to do a piece based on this composition from the COTL launch trailer. This felt like the perfect excuse.
I flip-flopped on what card to use for Shamura a couple times.
I settled on Valgavoth for the ward cost to represent the 3 followers you have to kill when going after them. And for the main effect being a kind of single use memory of events while they are present.
The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Kallamar
GUYS I DID IT OMG!
Thank to everyone who sent me their Kallamar to butcher them mercilessly into this painting. It has been AMAZING to discover how different one character could be interpreted and how each of you made them your very own!
I would have liked to give everyone good space, but I found that fitting 22 of them in, including mine, was a challenge!🤣💙 Maybe I bit more than I could chew.
I really hope I did justice to your Kallamar. I tried to be as accurate as I could, and the colour was picked straight from the reference! (Some were B&W, so I hope I gave them a decent one)
As promised, they are all dressed as Plague Doctors in honour of the new fanfic I am working on, The Plague Doctor's Mask, which has our favourite squid as the focus. Context And Thank you for 500 followers NOW TO THE CREDITS The Kallamars belong to: @adairtrashart @adrikao1008 @bloos-bloo @bonesbugsandballads @ciaosonounapersonalol @cconfusedkat @eggobuggo @ivyrosebeep @kata-the-bee (who has infiltrated with a spy, teehee) @kikorikoiko @maimoncat @mortismotorola @deqdlyowl @paruparuparuparu @pillo-makes-art @pwandiena @silentjaybird @spinchmybeloved @thetireddoktor @twooftheluckyones @wolfbanesarchive Your Kallamars are great 💙💙💙 Thank you a GAZILLION A Special Mention goes to ANON who suggested the corpse on the table be Travis. 10/10 I didn't think about it, genius. Thanks. PS: I realise Tumblr res might not be the best. So if any of you guys want a close up of your Kallamar in better quality, please contact me in DM and I'll be happy to help!
The middle siblings were probably the easiest to choose cards for, just behind Narinder.
Pestilence is an established effect in magic, which originated on the card "Pestilence" and carried on to other cards like the one I chose for Kallimar "Pestilence Demon"
As for famine, food is also a mechanic in magic. Its main use is to give the player who consumes it life. Seems only natural Heket should prevent said gain of life.
Bring forth demons!
Leshy was far and away the hardest bishop to settle on a card for. We don't really get to see his domain in action all that much, so translating that to mechanics is tough.
Originally Lord of the Void was the card I intended for Shamura. After playing with it I actually think it fits Leshy well, pulling a random creature off the top of an opponents deck has yielded some very chaotic board states. He's definitely the hailmary of the demons in my deck.
