Lets talk about Stillmaker, Durge’s other canon blade

Okay, so we already know that Durge had the Bloodthirst dagger which was created from Bhaal’s own blood and carried by his chosen.

But there is another dagger in the game you can find that also canonically belonged to Durge, Stillmaker.

We see Stillmaker portrayed in Dark Urge’s official artwork, and it’s also Durge’s blade in Idle Champions, as you can see.

I’ve noticed that Stillmaker matches Bloodthirst in design, but it is conspicuously green, as opposed to every other Bhaalian weapon I’ve seen which are red.

You know who else’s canon weapon has the same green coloring? Gortash. And who is the color green associated with? Bane. Stillmaker looks like it was made in the same design to Gortash’s crossbow.

I posit then, that being close to one another as they were, Gortash either made or commissioned Stillmaker to match with Bloodthirst and gifted it to Durge. It’s far more his style in looks, and I feel it’s something he would have done as he describes Durge as his nearest and dearest, and we know they worked very closely together and admired one another.

It truly makes my Durgetash heart flutter!

EDIT #2: We were discussing on discord yesterday, Orin would have of course kept the Bloodthirst blade after dispatching Durge because it’s made of Bhaal’s blood and carried by his Chosen, but she would not have wanted some sugary gift from her sibling’s Ex and probably tossed it away and Dolor ended up with it, and that’s how it ended up in his stash.

I almost want to go back on that joke post I drew abt Wrathion because the way people now literally treat him like a damn toddler.

Taking a character who clearly was not able to live a normal childhood and insisting he is still a child not able to make his won decisions even now that it's CLEAR he's an adult is fuckin disgusting. It's disgusting to anyone who's had a horrific childhood and has had to be an adult early, resulting in them not having the experiences children should have.

If all you do is repeatedly compare him to how actual children behave I want you to watch his BFA/DF cutscenes again and say that to my face. Anduin is his age and a lot more nuance is given to his character being a young leader but Wrathion is different... Gee I wonder what specific attributes make people infantilize him oh gee I wonder what it is...

Not to mention some of the infantilizing comes from him *looks at writing on hand* not enjoying a wedding, complaining in an immature way or not understanding when he's being wronged, I would HATE to know how you guys treat traumatized adults.

You know, fandom seems to talk about Wrathion's past mistakes a lot, but I don't often see anyone discuss his visits to the August Celestials during his legendary questline. Like, sure, people occasionally bring up his attitude towards Tong, but how many current players were there to experience (and still remember) the rest of that quest? When I think of Wrathion, I think first of the whelp who literally dropped to his knees before the Red Crane of Hope, who poured out his heart about the visions he'd had -- how terrified he was that the Legion was coming, about the "rivers of blood and cities in ruin" that would result if he wasn't able to somehow, some way, stop this from happening, and about how the only thing sustaining him was the tiny sliver of hope that he might actually succeed. This is a young dragon who foresaw something that absolutely shook him to his core, something he would do anything to try to prevent... and who felt he had almost no support, because it seemed he was the only one taking the threat seriously while everyone around him was busy fighting one another. His fear, his burden, was so great that the Red Crane himself even admitted that Wrathion needed his blessing of Hope "more than any I have ever met".

We can, of course, debate Wrathion's methods. It's fairly obvious that he didn't fully understand the lessons the Celestials were trying to teach him -- at least not at the time. It's also undeniable that he made some pretty terrible mistakes along the way. And I can certainly understand the argument that his attitude in Dragonflight is just too annoying for some people to stomach. But the thing that always brings me back to Wrathion as Aspect is the knowledge that he actually cares about Azeroth. From the moment he was hatched -- even before -- he carried the burden of Earth-Warder, and he took it absolutely seriously. Neltharion took an oath, and he broke it -- broke beneath it, I would argue -- and Wrathion clearly believes that it's his own responsibility to bear the immense, crushing weight that his Aspect father/grandfather, and his entire flight, proved unable to bear. All those black dragons betrayed Azeroth, tried to destroy what they were sworn to protect, and here's Wrathion -- first a whelp and now a drake, all alone, without Neltharion's colossal size, strength, and power, without the support of a dragonflight behind him, without the support and trust of the other flights, without any true home or safe harbor, without the regard of the mortal races that he's trying to protect -- doing his best to fulfill an oath that he personally never actually took, only inherited.

Given that knowledge, I actually think Wrathion has behaved with remarkable restraint in regard to Sabellian's sudden appearance as a rival. Has Sabellian even given us the slightest indication that he actually cares about the sacred charge of the black dragonflight? He's certainly older, wiser, and steadier, and maybe he's done a good job of raising his kin and keeping them safe in Outland... but does he care about Azeroth? Because he certainly hasn't been there when it needed him... and yet he was perfectly willing to risk reappearing just in time to claim the Obsidian Throne.

A/N: Hello, loves! It’s me again with something new! This is my entry for the darling, Kas @wkemeup​‘s 4k follower celebration! Once again a huge congrats on the milestone, darling, I’m sure you’ve surpassed it by a tenfold already with your immense talent! I hope you’ll like this piece, I don’t quite know what I think of it myself, but here it iiiis! - Also this is a take on the enemies to lover’s trope - they’re actual enemies, trying to take one another out so just in case it isn’t your cup of tea I liked to put the warning ahead first! Thank you for all your love, I love and adore you guys so damn much!I hope you’ll enjoy this little piece of writing should you give it a read!

It is like a fire. 

Wild. Ferocious. Uncontrollable.

It burns every inch when he attempts to get close. Ravages through him like an all-consuming flame. Swallowing every breath of air until the only option left is to inhale the toxic ash, only to feel it burn through every part of him, and even if Bucky has escaped its clutches - it has fused itself to his bloodstream, and no desperate attempt can extinguish the flare it leaves behind. 

It’s burning reminder that you have made your way to his body, mind, and soul. Imprinted yourself there, and despite his desperate attempts, he cannot escape you. 

It infuriates him. 

Fuels a storm deep from the pit of his stomach. A tremor jolting through each nerve to consume him with rage.
