Phragmoceras
Look at the darker spots, could it be pigment telling us about this creatures original pattern?
The shell doesn’t seem to be intact on the other side so my guess is that this side was preserved thanks to being buried in sediment.
Found this one in Ireviken, Gotland, Sweden

Brachiopod; Cyrtia
I just love how the Catenipora coral winds around it like a fence.
The brachiopod itself measures about 1 cm.
Got this one in Gothemshammar, Gotland, Sweden

Octameroceras sinosum.
Little story about this cephalopod.
When I was done fossil hunting for the day and was sorting through my finds I forgot to put this little beauty back in the bag and went home without it. Returned some days later when I realised my mistake. Luckily it was still there waiting for me. The end.
It’s about 6 cm.
Hemse beds, Gotland, Sweden.

Calymene. Picked this partly enrolled little trilobite up at a nearly dried out canal. It was the first thing I found that day at the very first place I sat down.
It’s about 2 cm long. Sadly it’s missing a part of the cheek and the tail at one side. But just look at that grumpy face!
Found at Storkanalen, Gotland, Sweden.

Goniophyllum pyramidale. This edgy rugose coral is probably my favorite coral. When living, they were equipped with four lids on top in every corner. I have yet to find one with these lids intact.
These two are about 2,5 cm wide. Found in Ireviken, Gotland, Sweden.

Some Loxonema gastropod shells found in an old quarry in Valleviken, Gotland, Sweden.
The deepest parts of the quarry is now waterfilled and has become a small lake. The limestone makes the bottom very light wich is not the standard here in the north. Beautiful place, although it’s man-made.
The largest one of the snail shells is about 4 cm.

Ilionia prisca.
Here I have some clams that I’ve collected at Grogarnshuvud at the east coast of Gotland, Sweden. They’re about 5-6 cm.
You often find them completly free from surrounding limestone but as a result they quickly gets worn down by the waves. Really smooth surface and sharp edges on these ones.
