I think as a society we moved way to fast past David Duke being at a pro Palestine protest.

Let me rephrase that.

A man who dedicated his life to hating brown people and jews, rocked up to an event meant to support brown people and protest the only jewish country, and people denied that there may be an antisemitism problem.

Being pro Palestine isn't inherently antisemitic. You can criticize Israel without being antisemitic. But if David fucking Duke of all people, shows up to your protest and is on your side, maybe, just maybe, there is an antisemitism problem in your specific protest

Reading vaccine discussions make me feel so gaslit.

Before covid, vaccines were never discussed as being for the purpose of lessening the severity of an illness. They have always been to prevent infection. The polio vaccine doesn't make polio survivable, it makes it so you don't catch it. Cases of polio dropped.

Even when the covid vaccines were first released we were told it would prevent infection and therfore the spread. Only when that became obviously untrue did it shift over to "that's not actually what vaccines are for, they are to lessen the severity."

And when people say that to me in an exasperated tone as if that isn't a brand new idea from 4 years ago I want to scream.

Also, and it might have been covered above (wall of text and all that) but wasn’t there a big’ol thing about championing women in the fields that men are dipping from? Seems to me they got what they wanted and ain’t too happy about it.

"White flight is a term that describes how white people move out of neighborhoods when more people of color move in.

White flight is especially common when minority populations become the majority. That neighborhood then declines in value.

Male flight describes a similar phenomenon when large numbers of females enter a profession, group, hobby or industry—the men leave. That industry is then devalued.

Take veterinary school for example:

In 1969 almost all veterinary students were male at 89%.

By 1987, male enrollment was equal to female at 50%.

By 2009, male enrollment in veterinary schools had plummeted to 22.4%

A sociologist studying gender in veterinary schools, Dr. Anne Lincoln says that in an attempt to describe this drastic drop in male enrollment, many keep pointing to financial reasons like the debt-to-income ratio or the high cost of schooling.

But Lincoln’s research found that “men and women are equally affected by tuition and salaries.”

Her research shows that the reason fewer men are enrolling in veterinary school boils down to one factor: the number of women in the classroom.

For every 1% increase in the proportion of women in the student body, 1.7 fewer men applied.

One more woman applying was a greater deterrent than $1000 in extra tuition! (…)

Since males had dominated these professions for centuries, you would think they would leave slowly, hesitantly or maybe linger at 40%, 35%, 30%, but that’s not what happens.

Once the tipping point reaches majority female- the men flee. And boy do they flee!

It’s a slippery slope. When the number of women hits 60% the men who are there make a swift exit and other men stop joining.

Morty Schapiro, economist and former president of Northwestern University has noticed this trend when studying college enrollment numbers across universities:

“There’s a cliff you fall off once you become 60/40 female/male. It then becomes exponentially more difficult to recruit men.”

Now we’ve reached that 60% point of no return for colleges.

As we’ve seen with teachers, nurses and interior design, once an institution is majority female, the public perception of its value plummets.

Scanning through Reddit and Quora threads, many men seem to be in agreement - college is stupid and unnecessary.

A waste of time and money. You’re much better off going into the trades, a tech boot camp or becoming an entrepreneur. No need for college. (…)

When mostly men went to college? Prestigious. Aspirational. Important.

Now that mostly women go to college? Unnecessary. De-valued. A bad choice. (…)

School is now feminine. College is feminine. And rule #1 if you want to safely navigate this world as a man? Avoid the feminine.

*Waves* Hi, male NSFW content creator here, member of about 16 different NSFW aligned Discords (artist discords, general content, small group, etc. with rather little overlap in members, if at all) and active on both X and BS, and have been for about 6 years now (insofar as creating content).

I can count on one hand, with fingers remaining, how often I’ve seen people actually call for, ask for, or in general speak positively about non-con content, what a well adjusted person would consider abusive. Non-con and NTR are, in my experiences and in the rather large circles I run in, seen as detestable, whereas legitimately romantic sexual content and/or enthusiastic consent aligned sexual content are far more preferred.

I gotta say, my personal experiences don’t come close to being anything similar to what OP’s talking about, and it all brings into question for me what even their sample size is, if any, or if they actively sought out misogynistic groups to prove their biases.

And with regard to the whole pervert thing, yeah, you get that on NSFW servers. Like going to the circus and bitching that they have clowns and animals there.
