OH DEFINITELY. He was feeling IT. He even asked for a break at some point if I remember it correctly. It was too much for him to handle.

So, what are everyone's thoughts on how Link was kinda feeling things during the gory hole segment? He presumably also saw everything on the screens, and it was clearly messing with his head. You know that optical illusion where you put your hand in a box with a mirror, and your brain makes you think you are seeing both of your hands, and what is done to the mirror image feels real?

I think his existential crisis was more real than he wanted us to believe.

Good Mythical Evening More More '24

During the break between the main show and the More, Rhett had asked a crew member to move one of the air mattresses to their office.

When the applause dies down after the end of the More, Link manages to hold it together long enough to complete the remainder of his boss duties. They mostly consist of thanking people and ensuring that clean up is being done, so he manages. Finally, Rhett herds him toward their office and practically forces him to lay down.

"I don' wanna..." comes the half-hearted protest.

"We can't do anything 'til we both sober up. I'll be right here," Rhett says, watching him collapse on the mattress while he curls up on the couch.

For an hour, Link sleeps and Rhett dozes, eyes shooting open every time there's a hitch in Link’s breath to make sure he's not getting sick.

Rhett wakes fully to the feeling of someone lifting his feet to sit on the other end of the couch. Link had gotten up undetected and now rubs his hand up and down Rhett’s ankle. The bigger man turns to his back and stretches out.

"Another one in the books," he says.

"Mhm," Link hums, eyes closed and head leaned on the back of the couch. Rhett observes his best friend, who has removed all of the makeup and blood and returned to his natural state. He's still glasses-less, which Rhett has appreciated all night. The moonlight coming through the window highlights his face. He still looks a little bit like a vampire.

"Did I make a fool of myself?" Link asks.

Rhett tries not to hesitate too long as he decides what to say. "Maybe. But you didn't do anything wrong. You didn't do anything that wasn't expected or prepared for."

After a while, Link answers, "Okay."

"Hey," Rhett says, sitting up to show that he's serious. Link turns his head to focus on him. "I know we make your quirks into a bit, but at the end of the day, so many fans really love you no matter what you do. And all of them are going to watch Good Mythical Evening next year."

Link grins lopsidedly, running his tongue over his canine where the fake tooth had been all night. "Yeah?"

"Yeah." Rhett can't resist raising a hand to gently touch his cheek. "And you know what?"

"What?"

"I really love you."

Link leans forward and presses a soft kiss to his lips, "I really love you."
