Manifesting Queen's "Princes of the Universe" if Crowley does go the Prince of Hell route.

I love this for them because the lyrics imply them working together to save the world.

I wasn't trying to be confusing, so let me clarify with full details.
So, in the TV show Good Omens (much lore below)...
(Caveat that this is looking strictly at what we've been presented in the show, and things Neil Gaiman has said, setting aside actual Biblical lore and Apocrypha, which I am not so familiar with.)
Before the Earth was created along with the garden of Eden and all (i.e. "The Beginning"), there was a period "Before the Beginning" where all the angels were creating the universe and stuff and getting ready for Earth and humans to be created. During this period, there were no demons; every demon we see later was an angel at this time.
However, at some point here, a number of angels (approximately half probably), rebelled for whatever reasons against the others.
We know very little about the reasons for the rebellion and what it looked like, but we do know that it escalated to battle which ended decisively, and that "The Fall" was a specific event where all those on the losing side were banished to Hell and became demons. And that all this happened before "The Beginning."
This piece of art was inspired by a few lines said by the demon Furfur in the 1941 flashback in season 2.
He says that he and Crowley were in the same legion just before the Fall, "doing dubious battle on the Plains of Heaven," as well as that easy-to-miss line about Crowley jumping on his back.
It is perhaps arguable whether it was meant literally, about him being a monkey in a waistcoat, but why wouldn't it be literal? This is ultimately a pretty ridiculous show.
I think it's a very reasonable possibility that Crowley, and probably even all of the rebelling angels, weren't in standard humanoid angelic forms at the time of the battle. They were all about going against the status quo.
This was also before they lost, before they Fell and became demons, before their demonic associations with "unwholesome" creatures like toads, flies, snakes, etc.
And what better "wholesome" animal for Crowley to have been during the battle than a mischievous monkey?
Crowley (from Good Omens) was a monkey before the Fall.

No really.
When the demon Furfur is trying to get Crowley to remember him he says, "You used to jump on me back, little monkey in the waistcoat."
I have therefore concluded this means Crowley spent the Battle for Heaven in monkey form (probably more annoying the Not-Yet-Fallen than especially joining in battle, instead jumping around on and among them).

I've begun poking at Xylobone again, and I've decided to reveal what the spells say!
I have come to regret the decision I made regarding the spellcasting languages used in the comic. When I began, I didn't want to just do simple English substitution ciphers for them because it felt lacking in verisimilitude. They were speaking different languages, not English. And then, rather than allow myself to go wild with conlangs, I decided on a middle ground of plugging things into Google translate and having the spells be cryptograms for other languages. I had fun designing the alphabets for them.
However in making this choice I neglected to fully consider the reader experience, and how many people enjoy both the puzzle of decoding things like this, and seeing the hidden messages. I've realized now that by using unspecified and (often poorly-translated) other languages, I've deprived my readers of this fun.
So, as another middle ground, I've decided to go through the archive and add spell translations. After all, using the same logic for why I felt it didn't matter that you couldn't read them (they don't say anything important), there's no harm in you knowing what they say.
Perhaps the puzzle of reverse translation can still be a fun challenge. I won't spell out exactly which languages were used, but there are hints.

I keep picturing Peter Cushing as Van Helsing even though he really doesn't fit the description of him.

Hello! I'm terrible at social media, but decided to give Tumblr another go, and figured I should start with an intro post.
I'm Maryanne, and I write and draw comics when I can, and sometimes I write and draw other things.
My comics are usually weird, often silly, typically cute, sometimes sad, and occasionally epic.
This is my website:
And here's a piece of art!

A personification of the galaxy AM 0644-741 (aka the Lindsay-Shapley Ring).
