Update

I haven't used this website in a while, have I? The Glen doesn't have many computers, and the ones that are there have important purposes. Updating this blog is not one of them.

I will not be returning to the Barrens. I had planned to after my first trip to the Glen ended, but something stopped me.

Whatever this feeling is, it's impossible to ignore. I can't go back.

What kinds of robots have you worked on?

Oh, anon. That is a pretty fun question! I won't even apologize for rambling here, ha. You asked and that's what I'm here for!

Let's see...

The labs I work on have a focus on environmental preservation and observation. We wanted to make robots that would explore the world for us and get data to analyze.

It's... not what I wanted to do when I got into robotics in my teen years. But... you've seen the world.

Silver was a more personal project. I began working on her concept during college all the way through grad school.

She was... a chance I had to stay true to my goals in the field. I think you know the rest of that story, so I don't need to say it twice, right?

After that I focused more on practicality. We had more needs in the City and the Glen as time went on, you know. Plan where to put units, all of that. Less exciting, but still interesting work.

The last big project by our team was the Prophetbot. The Author shared the design with us and I worked on the modifications. I don't remember the details, somehow.

Huh... Oh wait, wasn't the terminal that kept those records full of squares after I took that week long break?

I don't think I had a backup for everything there, sadly.

Me when… me when… the identity is horror. Who are you? Can you be replicated? Is that replication you? If someone looks just like you, acts like you and is interpreted by others as you, are they you? Do your thoughts count for anything? If everything you actually think stays in your head and never comes out then you die do people grieve you? Do you respond to your name or to any name?

Today I spent some time reading about the Barrens. We're trying to send away a few robots that can withstand the conditions over there.

I mean... without proper care it's not probable that they can last too long without getting rust. I know [DATA CORRUPTED ] is there to keep things in check but... it's weird, sending things to her.

She can take responsibility it is just... should I be the one to give it to her? I don't even know.

Alright, time to get back to work. The [MISSING]bot blueprints don't write themselves.

Edit: This book has a map but... This map looks nothing like the map we have on our monitors.

I guess someone scribbled over it to imagine areas beyond the Barrens? I don't know...

I guess I should ask [NAME CROPPED] about it. It's his book, anyways.

Hey guys! Something funny happened...

I got a notification about our glen water sorting project... which I had almost forgotten about, not gonna lie...

Anyways. They said I had asked for a report on green phosphor levels? I... don't think I did that. I know I distract all the time but not like that....

My recent files also show some notes I wrote? I didn't really check.

I guess... at least the work is getting done, so who am I to complain, huh?

I am so exhausted. Well, all that work seems definitely worth it!

[TIME NOT FOUND] we patched the robots in the [SQUARED]hern branch of the city, we even added the Newsbot personality to one of them and set it to work! [Corrupted name] seems relieved he's relaying some of his work in other trusted researchers.

I'll never stop being giddy about being on his "trusted people" list.

Ah, I shouldn't ramble. I don't have much time.

I noticed [Redacted] has been quieter.. Uncommon for that guy, tell you what. I wonder what's going through his head... I always wonder, I think I just have even more questions now.

I'd visit him, but I never catch how he gets home from the labs.

△ What was the "incident" with Silver?

I... you know there was a time where people would not let it go?

I had some letters piling up the days afterwards, some newspapers wanted to interview me, scientists quit their jobs...

You couldn't go two steps without someone asking about it.

I won't go through everything, this is a really tough one... Just know that, at some point Silver made me shut down her personal power cell, because her own programming wouldn't let her.

I really don't want to revisit that memory. 9/10

△ what was your childhood like?

Uhm... I can't picture myself much back then, I'm a little older than I may look, heheh.

But I do remember plenty of things. I was kind of a sheltered kid so... I never went out much. I didn't have siblings either to play with. It was a bit lonely at times, not gonna lie...

Both of my parents worked so I just spent a lot of time at home reading books or playing with computers. I also liked toying around with like, different appliances around the house to try and tinker with them... I was always kind of energetic, so I had to use all that juice in me for something.

And... Here we are!

You know, I'd rate this a 2/10. Not the childhood experience, though. I think... this isn't too rough of a topic.

So, some fandoms have separate tags for roleplay so they do not use the main tag. The OneShot community has the "os game rp" tag for all roleplay related things, while "oneshot game" is for general content.

The idea is that if someone specifically looks for roleplay they go to "#os game rp" but for art and other general fandom content they go for "#oneshot game". It helps to keep posts on topic, and prevents the spam of multiple asks per day from blogs that most folks browsing the main "oneshot game" tag have no context for.

The original creation of the tag was for it to be mutually exclusive from the main one. Some folks do not wish to engage in RP altogether, but some do only with selective blogs, and some simply don't want other original posts to be buried over roleplaying.

But OP, how will I get myself known to the wider community?

Start interacting with fellow blogs or

Create an intro post and THAT one can be main tagged.

I understand the desire for interaction, it's what keeps blogs like ours alive, but be mindful of the tags you use.

TL;DR: Please stop tagging RP asks as "oneshot game" and use "os game rp" instead for the wider RP community.

I'm open to listening to other opinions as well, thanks for your time.
