AU - Fates Intertwined | Time for change
Here's a new AU with Chrisker! Made with @aw-shapeshifter
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Eng translation by @aw-shapeshifter
What happens to those driven to the edge by the sheer absurdity of the world around them? To those who have doubted everything and grown weary of lies? They take desperate measures.
For Chris Redfield, that measure was Albert Wesker. When the world finally slid into the gray zone of morality and the lines between truth and falsehood blurred, Chris lost all sense of direction in the reality surrounding him. Everything he fought for turned out to be a façade. After the BSAA revealed its true face, he became completely disillusioned with hollow ideals and walked away from the rotten organization. He vanished from everyone’s sight. Officially – missing in action. Unofficially – he ended up beside the man he once swore to destroy.
Chris turned to Wesker because, in his eyes, Wesker was the only one who truly understood how this world worked. Among the ruins of his beliefs, Chris found in Wesker something no one else would dare to acknowledge: a figure capable of maintaining the balance between order and chaos, even if by methods unrecognized by morality.
For Wesker, Chris’s arrival meant something far greater. It was the ultimate acknowledgment of his correctness. He hadn’t forced Chris, hadn’t lured him, hadn’t manipulated him – the brunette came of his own free will. That made his choice all the more valuable. Wesker had always considered Chris exceptional. His persistence, physical strength, stubbornness, the ability to survive where no one else could – all of it had stirred a sense of admiration in the blond. But now, when Chris chose him consciously, Wesker realized something new: he didn’t just value him, he needed him. Chris became more than every project, every ideal – a living reminder that, after everything, someone had truly understood him.
From that moment on, both men began to redefine not only who they had been, but who they could become. Wesker allowed Chris to stay close, granting him access to the most vulnerable aspects of his existence – such as the instability of a body sustained by PG67A/W injections. And Chris was the only one Wesker trusted to administer them. He also pushed Chris to grow stronger physically, though behind this demand lay far more care than he would ever admit.
Wesker personally oversaw Chris’s fitness, his nutrition, and trained him in survival under the harshest conditions, even down to stitching his own wounds without anesthesia. It was his way of protecting the one thing he could no longer afford to lose. His fury in the face of any threat to Chris would have been absolute. He even implanted a chip in Redfield’s body, monitoring his vital signs and location, so he could always find him.
Paradoxically, Chris felt relief next to the man he once hated. In this strange new reality, he began to live again. He no longer had to pretend to be a hero, no longer had to obey orders or play by someone else’s rules. With Wesker, he could simply be himself-hot-tempered, sarcastic, sometimes naïve, but sincere. With Wesker, he allowed himself to relax, to watch the world not through a scope, but through a window, seeing the man he once despised now discussing dinner plans with him.
But Wesker, weary of his dependence on PG67A/W, would sometimes stubbornly refuse treatment, driving himself to the brink-blindness, agony, physical collapse. Chris, who had already lost too much, could not allow himself to lose Wesker as well. He would rage, curse, but never leave – always stepping in when it mattered.
Everything between them was now being reinterpreted, and Chris began to understand that Wesker’s betrayal of S.T.A.R.S. had not been an act of cruelty, but an act of desperation, born of a lack of choice. And the deeper Chris sank into the truth, the clearer Wesker became to him. He began to see what was usually hidden behind that mask of coldness and control.
Yet the world around them was not ready to accept their union.
Jill, refusing to believe that Chris had willingly allied himself with Wesker, first assumed he had fallen victim to manipulation. But later, she understood – he hadn’t changed, he had simply stopped lying to himself. Claire joined Jill in a desperate attempt to «save» her brother, never realizing that Chris had already chosen his side. And anyone who dared look him in the eye could see it – every move he made was deliberate. Maybe to the world he was now a traitor, but Chris had found his truth.
Excella often indulged in flirting with Wesker, and every time she tried, Chris cut her off with razor-sharp sarcasm. He despised that woman and knew that when the time came, Excella would flee in terror, and he would be the only one left standing beside Wesker. The blond, however, remained indifferent to her antics and didn’t bother pretending she meant anything to him.
Ada Wong continued her dealings with Wesker and, upon learning of his new partnership, her attitude toward Chris grew… peculiar. She saw something almost touching in him, like a loyal hound following its master. Wesker, on the other hand, spoke of Chris far too often, more than anyone noticed. He grew strangely verbose whenever the conversation turned to him.
And yet, their bond remained profoundly personal. They spent evenings together, shared memories, and, oddly enough, rediscovered hobbies. Wesker assembled intricate ship models in bottles, while Chris immersed himself in comic books. They shared a bed, and when Chris fell asleep with his large, warm arms wrapped around Wesker, the blond would lie motionless all night – simply because he didn’t want to wake him. Even though he slept like a taut wire.
For Wesker, Chris became an anchor. For Chris, Wesker was stability incarnate. Blue, the color that had long vanished from Wesker’s palette, returned to his clothing, a quiet echo of the humanity Chris nurtured simply by being there.
The new Umbrella they built together was no ideal, no utopia, but a means to impose balance – a world without winners, but with order. Wesker didn’t dream of redemption, and Chris didn’t dream of salvation. And if anyone dared to stand between them, to shatter that fragile equilibrium, they would learn what two men, who had lost too much to lose each other, were capable of.
With Chris at his side, Wesker no longer felt like a prisoner of his past. What once haunted him became background noise. It was Chris’s presence, his silent support, his gaze devoid of judgment, that gave Wesker something he had never possessed before: the sense that he was no longer alone. But along with it came something more primal… possession.
Wesker, a man who had always controlled everything, now felt that Chris belonged solely to him. Not in terms of obedience, but as something deeply personal, intimate. Chris was alive, mortal, vulnerable in his humanity – and that vulnerability gnawed at Wesker’s composure. He would never admit it aloud, but Chris had become something he could not afford to lose. Under any circumstances.
He watched him fight with cold calculation, with pride, with admiration. He saw Chris triumph over bioweapons bred to be flawless. But Wesker knew that none of them could compare to the man before him. Because Chris wasn’t the result of an experiment, he was the sum of pain, of choice, of relentless will. His existence was unprogrammed and that was its worth. He was the best. He was, in truth, perfect.
And no one could fathom how this ordinary man could bring Wesker into balance, with his blunt honesty, his candor, his reactions that were sometimes naïve but always genuine. He grounded Wesker, pulled him back from the abyss without a word – simply by existing.
But this Chris was no longer the man they once knew. He had grown sharper, more uncompromising. Freedom had given him the right not to be good. And now, if Jill herself stood in his way, he wouldn’t flinch. Not out of hatred, but from the understanding that something greater was at stake. He would act humanely, but decisively. Yet his humanity extended only to those he cared for.
Claire was one of the few exceptions for Wesker. For all his disdain for sentimentality, he couldn’t ignore the fact that she was Chris’s sister, that made her untouchable. He knew how much she mattered to his partner, and so he would never harm her, even if he had every reason to. Because anything tied to Chris carried weight.
At every step, in every decision, in every glance between them, there was a current beyond the reach of the past or of logic. Wesker knew that with Chris, he could accomplish more. And Chris, despite the cold, despite the hardness, was sinking deeper into this union with each passing day. He was there not out of coercion, not out of despair, but because beside Wesker he had become the man he had never dared to be.

This is from the RE9 GamesRadar interview this morning. I don’t think anyone will be surprised Chris won’t be in RE9 given the themes. I just thought it was funny that Capcom is just like “oh yeah, Chris is just out there in his late 50s doing his job until he dies 😃”

Hello long time no see- I made a furry.
He's a furrified version of Albert Wesker because I'm mentally ill and insist on turning my favorite characters into furries. There's not too much rhyme or reason to a most of his design elements- pale cause he's pale, repeated star motifs because STARS, a few other small things that tie into the design of my fursona. I mostly wanted a design I found pleasing and felt like him.
I did put thought into his species though- mink crossed with red fox. My friend had that genius idea, given that mink and fox are both bred for fur. They're commodities, raised to fulfill another's desires. We both thought it was a nice parallel to the circumstances of Wesker's childhood.

Replaying RE6 and there is a bit towards the end of Chris' campaign (before it all goes to hell in a hand basket) I really love. It's just Chris who is going to retire, and these 20-something kids he believes will be the future of keeping the world safe from BOW. Jake and Piers are squabbling in the background in a way you know they're going to be friends (eventually), Sherry is worried about Leon but still so earnest about her role - it's really sweet. Just for a moment, Chris must have thought it was all going to be okay.
