The Sims 4 Community’s 🍍 Fruit Legacy Challenge 🍒

– Hey! Have you already played LilSimsie’s NSB Legacy Challenge? How about DaniiPanties' IAL Legacy Challenge?

     Would you like to try another one? Oh, this one is super fun!

     This Legacy Challenge is very similar in structure to the NSB Challenge, and was been invented by Zoë Lennon over at Facebook’s The Sims 4 Community (original post is here, but can be seen only by group members) after she finished the NSB Challenge and wanted to make her own!

     NOTE: In order to fully enjoy the Challenge, you must own ALL PACKS!

The Rules:

You will be playing with your Sims up to the 8th generation. Lifespan must be set to normal;

Once moved into a lot, all 8 generations must live and be raised there;

You can’t use cheats to make the game easier (e.g money cheats, mood solving cheats, etc.)

You can match their appearance and house to the colour of their fruit;

You can join either branch of a career unless otherwise stated.

     In case you wish to share your Sims and homes on the Gallery, or just wish to share your progress with the Challenge, feel free to do so by using the #FruitLegacy tag!

Generation #1: BLACKBERRY — Color Black —

    ❝ You want to be famous, and that's all you ever wanted. You never needed a partner, a pet or a child, but that is until you retire and feel the emptiness of your home. So you welcome a child, and love them for the rest of your life. ❞

» GOALS:

Reach the top of the Acting career;

Maximize Acting and Charisma;

Become a World Famous Celebrity;

Stay single;

Adopt 1 child after turning Elder.

Generation #2: LEMON — Color Yellow —

    ❝ When your parent passes away, you are all alone. So you marry your childhood sweetheart, and with no one to guide you you soon have a child on the way. Even so, nothing stops you from following your dream of becoming a painter, letting your creativity flow. ❞

» GOALS:

Get married and have a child as soon as you age into a Young Adult;

Maximize Painting and Handiness;

Reach the top of the Painting career;

Become a Painter Extraordinaire;

Have at least 2 children.

Generation #3: APPLE — Color Green —

    ❝ Your parent was super creative, but you just... are not. You wish for a 9-5 job, and your real passion lives at home, with four fuzzy paws. However, after a one night stand you now also have a baby to care for... well, good thing you have stable employment. ❞

» GOALS:

Reach the top of the Business career;

Maximize Logic and Charisma;

Always own at least one dog;

Only have occasional relationships;

Have only one child.

Generation #4: GRAPE — Color Purple —

   ❝ Babies, babies everywhere. You strongly desire a full house, and that’s what you get after you marry: six beautiful babies to care for. You don't have time for a job, but luckily your partner brings in the money so you can focus on becoming the best parent your children can wish for. ❞

» GOALS:

Get married upon aging into a Young Adult;

Give birth to 6 children;

Never have a job;

Maximize Cooking, Baking and Parenting;

Become a Super Parent.

Generation #5: STRAWBERRY — Color Pink —

  ❝ You grew up in a busy household... maybe too busy. To get out more, you often went jogging or headed to the gym. Physical activity calms you, so you want to become an athlete. However, you still have 2 kids, as you miss a house like the one you grew up in, just... not as loud. ❞

» GOALS:

Reach the top of the Athlete career;

Maximize Fitness and Charisma;

Unlock the Health Food Nut lifestyle;

Become a Bodybuilder;

Have 1 child and adopt 1 toddler.

Generation #6: TANGERINE — Color Orange —

 ❝ You know you’re funny. Even from cracking jokes with your sibling, you just knew you would be a comedian, and a good one. Your favourite thing? Showing cat memes to your 3 kids while your fuzzy one is curled up on your knees. ❞

» GOALS:

Reach the top of the Entertainer career as a Comedian;

Maximize Comedy and Violin;

Become a Joke Star;

Have 3 children;

Always have at least one cat.

Generation #7: RASPBERRY — Color Red —

❝ You used to sit on your parent’s knee while they wrote their comedy sets. Fast forward 15 years and now you're going to university to become a writer. With your diploma in hand you begin working as a writer, but in the midst of all you become the dirty mistress in someone elses marriage... eventually convincing them to leave their spouse once there's a baby involved. ❞

» GOALS:

Go to University and get a degree in Communications or Language and Literature;

Reach the top of the Writing career;

Maximize Writing, Charisma and Logic;

Become a Bestselling Author;

Have a child with a married someone, then convince to leave their spouse and marry you.

Generation #8: BLUEBERRY — Color Blue —

❝ Your parents have high expectations for you. You mostly live up to those expectations becoming a doctor, but not so much with a failed marriage and a child who resents you for it. But things turn around when you meet someone else, apart from your first child who hates your second partner and your new children. ❞

» GOALS:

Reach the top of the Doctor career;

Max Logic and Handiness;

Unlock the Workaholic lifestyle;

Marry twice; the first resulting in 1 child, the second resulting in 2;

Have a bad relationship with your first child.

Not So Berry Legacy Challenge

Do you like the rainbow? Do you like the idea of playing with berry Sims but hate berry Sims? Do you want to mess around with aspects of the game you’ve never used before? Boy, do I have the challenge for you!

Welcome to the Not So Berry Legacy Challenge, a ten generation legacy with a focus on bright colors and new experiences.

Basic Rules:

Each heir must represent the color of the generation (i.e. hair, makeup, clothing), but brightly colored skin is not necessary (these aren’t actually berry Sims, that’s the joke). Of course, this is optional but a big portion of the fun.

The colors of the spouses don’t matter as they aren’t part of the challenge. Unless otherwise stated you can do whatever you please with them.

Money cheats can be used, but not excessively. Suggestion: use freerealestate for your first home, but no cheats afterward.

You may live wherever you please unless something is specified in the rules of a generation.

Every generation is supposed to complete both the career and aspiration of the heir unless explicitly stated otherwise.

Keep the lifespan on normal.

My good friend @alwaysimming​ and I kind of created this challenge on accident, but I think it turned out pretty great. Tutorial: How to do a SMOOTH weight transfer

Note: This technique can be used for uv_1 transfer as well.

This is more of a trick. I thought I’d share because I used it on every mesh I created and I haven’t seen anyone mentioned it before. 

I assume you understand the basics of the Blender interface and weight transfer. If not, read this tutorial: Weight transfer in Blender first.

The key steps of weight transfer are in ��Weight Paint” mode performing “Transfer Weights” with the method of “Nearest vertex”. Your new mesh and the base mesh you want to transfer weights from might be similar, but not identical. Sometimes the result may end up like this:

And it causes some glitch in game. It might look worse when your sim moves.

This is because the nearest vertices around this area don’t have correct weights as they’re still ‘too far’.

The trick to fix this is simply to create more vertices on the base mesh, which you transfer weights from. Select the base mesh, go into Edit Mode, select all and do several times of Subdivide. You can do as many times as your computer can take. 

Transfer weights with ‘Nearest vertex’ again.

Now it’s nice and smooth.

In game the glitches are gone as well.

This trick also works when transferring uv_1 map with ‘Nearest vertex’.

I was wondering If you knew a work around for this issue I have. I have a mod (not sure which yet) which causes my sims to take their shoes off when entering a house. This is an awesome mod but the feet are NecroDogs and they bleed through my sims socks. Your fix would be awesome if it could work along side! Thanks!

Hello! I am having an issue with your granny nightgown recolor. Silverhammer's original mesh looks fine on sims, but when i select your recolors, my sim gets a black square and question mark on their face.

     I’m so sorry I haven’t responded to your ask for so long. For some reason, Tumblr didn’t notify me of it, and I only stumbled across it casually... but anyway.

     That issue you’re experiencing is known to be related to CC that lacks mesh data. This said, I’ve just tested the item within my game, and it shows up correctly. I believe it might be because I have both my file and Silverhammer’s — from which my version gathers the mesh data — installed in my Mods folder.

     Try re-downloading Silverhammer’s Granny Nightgown’s file along with mine, then add both files in your Downloads folder and check again.     You may also want to try clearing out your cache — check this tutorial!

     Does it do the same thing?Let me know how it goes!ヾ(*'▽'*)

    – Wow, it’s been quite some time since my last creation!

     No worries, I haven’t gone anywhere… just been a busy bee — and attempted to tweak and test a few new projects in my free time… anyway!

     I was in need of one of those nightgowns one will never fail to find in their grandmother’s dresser, and stumbled across @silverhammersims‘s wonderful mesh, although I found it was a bit bugged, and it bugged me a lot indeed.

     So, after getting in touch with the loveliest Marion and getting her permission, I decided to give a try at giving a new, bit more vibrant palette to her nightgown, and also add a bunch of little details like the ties at the front, a set of buttons at the back and a laced trim!      I also fixed some minor flaws in the texture, plus the specular and normal maps, so it should be all good to go now, but please feel free to report whatever issue you might find!

     It comes in 12 colors, Teen » Elder and it’s Basegame compatible.

🌈 RAINBOW BERRY! LEGACY CHALLENGE

     – I love berry Sims! You too? I know, right...? Aren’t they just so cute?

     I’ve been considering for a good while whether to do a Berry Challenge or not, but while @lilsimsie already​ shared her Not So Berry Legacy Challenge with us, I couldn’t click with it for some reason.      So, I’ve decided to create my OWN version. It will be a mix of the Not So Berry with the original Legacy Challenge and choose some new rules for my own Rainbow Berry! Legacy Challenge (´｡• ◡ •｡`)ﾉﾞ ♡

          ▪ Cheats are not allowed. The only exception is for the FreeRealEstate cheat when you move into your first home.

          ▪ Your starter Sim must be created using random genetics.             NOTE: It is possible to tweak him/her, as long as none of the game’s presets is used. Keep in mind that some of your Sims’ traits, aspirations and careers must be randomly chosen by a Scenario Generator.

          ▪ The first born will always be the heir for the next generation unless otherwise stated.

          ▪ Every generation must complete both the Career and Aspiration unless otherwise stated.

Your heart belongs to the kitchen – and your furry minions – and your mission is to make your neighborhood a little happier everyday with your bakery. As you always say: Good Food is Good Mood.

REQUIREMENT: Goofball trait.

Adopt at least 3 red cats;

Unlock and learn all recipes;

Run a bakery;

     You are full of energy, with a big thing for gyms and good looks. You're quite scatterbrained and perhaps a bit selfish, but overall, you’re a good noodle.

REQUIREMENT: Active trait.

Social Media career;

Maximize Fitness and Videogaming skills;

Complete the Snow Globe and Postcards collection;

Propose to a childhood friend but leave her at the altar;

Get married to another sim and have at least 2 children before reaching the Adult phase.

REQUIREMENTS: Loves Outdoors and Vegetarian traits.

Maximize Gardening, Fishing and Herbalism skills;

Own a Cowplant;

Join the Garden Gnomes Club and become their leader;

Complete Insect, Fish and Frog collections;

Marry a coworker and have one child before Elder stage.

Age: Young Adult // Traits: x // Aspiration: x

     You don’t quite share your mother’s interests. You believe in balance and good health. Your main focus – quite literally – is on human beings and the wondrous way the human body works, both physically and mentally. You’re extremely dedicated to your job... although you really enjoy your moments of relax.

REQUIREMENT: Doctor career.

» GOALS: 

Maximize Logic and Wellness skills;

Meditate and do Yoga at least twice a week;

Adopt a cat or a small dog;

Have 3 failed relationships before finding love with a Veterinary;

Never have children, but adopt a child before Elder stage.

🌈 Generation #6: INDIGO

Age: Young Adult // 2 traits: x // Aspiration: x

     Justice. There’s nothing that excites you more than investigate and solve crimes in order to punish those criminals. But your heart is a soft one, and at times one must consider and evaluate different paths before making their choice... heart or career? In your case, definitely heart.

REQUIREMENT: Good trait, Detective career.

» GOALS: 

Maximize Logic and Charisma skills;

Adopt a large dog;

Find love with a Criminal before level 7 of your career;

Quit career at level 7 and move to a different scenario;

Marry in secret and have four children.

    Your brains crawl with questions. Quite literally. Why do we breathe oxygen? How many stars are beyond our sight? What’s Sixam, and what wonders does it hide? Your curiosity is what pushes you forward, and you’re determined to find the answer to all of your doubts! 

REQUIREMENT: Genius trait, Scientist career.

Maximize Logic and Rocket Science skills;

Build a Rocket Ship;

Complete Alien, Geodes, Elements, Crystals and Space Rocks collections;

Have a relationship on the job before falling in love with an Alien;

     There’s a gift in each of us, and deep within you there’s a star. Your truest passion lies in music, and you wish to make a living out of it. You may be a little frivolous, but you know what you want, and you know how to get it... don’t you?

REQUIREMENT: Music Lover trait.

Maximize Singing and Guitar skills;

Write at least 25 songs and earn at least 50.000§ by singing;

Become a World Famous Celebrity;

Have an affair with an Actor;

Have 3 children from 3 different relationships.

🌈 Generation #9: BERRY

Age: Young Adult // 2 traits: x // Aspiration: x  // Career: x

     You may be born in the spotlight, but celebrity life is not all fun and games. Fun, however, are the many many colors that surround you as you paint. Creativity is your best form of expression... maybe you could also make a few extra simoleons out of it?

REQUIREMENT: Creative trait.

» GOALS:

Maximize Painting and Photography skills;

DIY — where possible — your own furniture and decorations;

Earn at least 50.000§ by painting;

Marry a Snob sim;

Divorce, remarry and have at least two children.

The first Female will be the heir of next Generation.

🌈 Generation #10: ASH

Age: Young Adult // 1 trait: x // Career: x

     Life is boring. So boring. Nobody is up to your standards, and the only places you find interesting are inside the books you read. In fact, you wish to belong somewhere else. Humans are ephemeral, empty shells. You want to become superior and immortal... like those mysterious creatures in your favourite books.

REQUIREMENT: Bookworm trait, Bestselling Author aspiration.

» GOALS:

Become a Vampire;

Maximize Writing and Vampire Lore skills;

Write at least 25 books and earn at least 50.000§ by writing;

Unlock all your Vampire Powers and become Grand Master;

Entice and marry Count Vladislaus;

BONUS: Have TWINS – you may cheat for this one!

🌈 BONUS Generation: EBONY & IVORY

Age: Toddler RANDOMIZE TRAITS + ASPIRATION FOR ONE TWIN, THEN CHOOSE THE OPPOSITES FOR THE OTHER.

     You two are the complete opposite of each other. To you, everything the other does is utterly nonsensical, and just gets on your nerves. And yet, how is it that you two just cannot have your own lives? Will this curse ever end? Maybe adulthood will finally let you part your ways... or reconcile with each other.

REQUIREMENT: The twins cannot part until the challenge is over.

» GOALS:

Maximize at least 3 skills;

Mess with each other until Teen phase;

One sibling must steal the other’s lover at least once;

Get the same part-time job during Teen phase;

Share the same room until Young Adult phase.

Will the siblings finally part? Will they reconcile? Choose your own ending!

Wearable Maxis feet for Necrodog’s HD Feet

     – Greetings, everyone! I’m back with another lil’ download for you!

     Ever since The Sims 2 I have always appreciated the Maxis Match style, but I never disregarded the small details that would bring that slight hint of realism within the game – defined feet, anatomy bits, etc.      Which is why Necrodog’s HD Feet have been a lifesavior, and just like Bloom’s Sexy Feet for TS3 and TS2, his feet are a MUST in my game.

     However, there has always been something that bugged me about realistic feet in each version of the game, and it’s how – for obvious reasons – feet kept their modified shape even when wearing socks.

     Therefore, I’ve decided to solve the issue myself. 

     I present you a set of WEARABLE MAXIS FEET that you can use whenever you want your sim to wear socks only.      You will find them in the Shoes » Slippers section.

    – Wow, it’s been quite some time since my last creation!

     No worries, I haven’t gone anywhere... just been a busy bee — and attempted to tweak and test a few new projects in my free time... anyway!

     I was in need of one of those nightgowns one will never fail to find in their grandmother’s dresser, and stumbled across @silverhammersims‘s wonderful mesh, although I found it was a bit bugged, and it bugged me a lot indeed.

     So, after getting in touch with the loveliest Marion and getting her permission, I decided to give a try at giving a new, bit more vibrant palette to her nightgown, and also add a bunch of little details like the ties at the front, a set of buttons at the back and a laced trim!      I also fixed some minor flaws in the texture, plus the specular and normal maps, so it should be all good to go now, but please feel free to report whatever issue you might find!

     It comes in 12 colors, Teen » Elder and it’s Basegame compatible.

You said you appreciated the Maxis Match style ever since the sims 2 but I believe maxis joined the sims during the sims 3.

     — Hello, there! (´･ᴗ･`)╯Uhhh... technically no, it’s a bit different :) 

     Maxis was founded by Will Wright (aka The Sims’ creator) in 1987 with SimCity, but after a few successful games it was going towards its decline, so it was acquired by EA.     Maxis, however, is the logo featured on both The Sims (2000) and The Sims 2 (2004), although only at the start since around the Pets EP Maxis has been completely acquired by EA, and therefore the logo was taken out of the startup, at least until halfway through The Sims 3.     Around 2010~2011 (IIRC) there has been a big rearrangement of the EA structure, where The Sims Studio was placed under the EA Maxis logo.

     So yes, let’s say that Maxis’ had a bit of a bumpy ride, but nonetheless existed way ahead of the Sims 3, and was one of the biggest reasons why The Sims exists in the first place: Will Wright. 

     Therefore, this said, I believe that it’s safe to say that yes, I’ve always appreciated the Maxis Match style since The Sims 2! (.❛ ᴗ ❛.)
