Well, I was named a dictator in Peru. Jose de San Martin left it all up to me to figure out that mess. While I was down south, things began to stir back up north in Colombia and Venezuela so I had to return. I've got to remember not to spread myself too thin!
Now that I'm back I am realizing that my previous comrades have abandoned me. I no longer have the support of the White elites or the Pardos. My efforts are just aggravating all parties. I narrowly escaped an assassination attempt. I don't think I can ever regain power in this troubled land. After all my previous victories, I still feel like such a failure. I must flee to Europe. (On the bright side, at least Bolivia appreciates me.)

We won the battle of Carabobo! I've been elected as Colombia's first president and the republic has been given diplomatic recognition by the United States! Things are really looking up. I am planning to head down to Peru to help Jose de San Martin liberate. We'll see how things go.

Liberating Venezuela is NOT easy. Hopefully I can do a better job than Francisco de Miranda did.. It seems Jose de San Martin got Argentina liberated without too much trouble, then again, down in Argentina there isn't nearly as much diversity as there is in Venezuela. It's hard to please all different groups of people at the same time. There's got to be a way to have a multicultural society living in harmony! Elites are questioning my methods of soliciting help from slaves, but we are fighting a higher power! We might as well join together.

What an honorable leader. I hope to be a caudillo as respected as him someday!
