Also I think my next thing will be to start organizing some clubs. I can't just keep having house parties. I'm going to try to get similar gods together in different clubs so I can start to develop some better relationships.

Here are a few party pics with some of the older gods all gathered at the "Aser" household. Osirus (not dead) and Isis live here. They invited Osirus' problematic brother Set. It looks like he left Nephthys at home but he's a jackass so that is so like him. Odin and Frigg showed up, as did Poseidon and Amphitrite. Hades is also seen here doing sit-ups for some reason. If I remember correctly Zeus and Hera are around somewhere in this party but they may have been fucking upstairs.

INTODUCING THE NORSE!

Here we have it folks, this is the newest build in my Sim Pantheon. The Norse Gods in my world basically have two lineages with a few randos thrown in. Let's get to it!

In the picture above we have a lovely shot of Mimir (with his head, unlike in the Eddas) on the far left. Then next to him is the Allfather himself, Odin. Behind Odin stands his son Braggi (fun fact Braggi is thought to be a reference to a Norse poet who was inserted into the pantheon!). Loki is sporting a 3/4 zip and a mustache. Seated by on the couch is Frigg the queen of the gods thought this is hardly her best picture. And with her braid to us is Gunnold, the giantess mother of Braggi.

Here we get a shot of Hodur, the dimwitted, blind, and eventually murderous brother of the handsome Baldur (albeit by accident).

Standing in blue we have Gersemi, daughter of Freyja and her unhinged but loveable husband Odr. She takes after her father and is pursuing a career in comedy. I plan on having her befriend Thalia of the muses.

The tall, perplexed man next to her is one of Loki's maladjusted children, Jormungundr (I couldn't make him a giant snake so he's just tall and skinny). He's mysterious, unpredictable, and just generally strange but he loves to travel! (Being a world serpent. Get it? He likes to be around the world? Look he was difficult to conceptualize but I wanted him in the game)

Grumpy, strange little Mimir is sneaking away behind them. Look at how short he is! I love him!

Then we have a slightly better picture of Gunnold and a very bad picture of Hel (The least maladjusted of all of Loki's children)

Stepping outside we see the delightfully 70's Tyr. Tyr was always kind to Fenrir, the viscous wolf child of Loki. He took pity on him and even offered up his hand to be bitten off when Odin tricked Fenrir and bound him to a stone with the chain Gleipnir. I couldn't do that in this story so Fenrir just has a shit relationship with...everyone but Tyr and Jormumgundr and lives with the two of them in Oasis Springs. Tyr also has a prosthetic hand which you cannot see here. He is talking to Freyja, who hopefully I have a better picture of.

Heimdal Bifrost is talking to Sif. I need to find a better mod to give Sif some incredibly long hair. I was happy to use my viking braids finally on Heimdal though.

Gods fucking dammit!

Last night I made Osiris, Isis, Babi, and Horus and now today I couldn't find them! They are completely gone from my game. I spent a long time getting them just right and getting the genetics just right. No idea how I lost a whole fucking family.

So I took a bit of a career jump today which means I'll be taking classe for the next few months. That means I won't have a lot of time to devote to updating this blog. Please give it a follow though so when I come back and make updates you can catch them.

I've got a whole assload of pictures of my Norse Gods. I think I'm going to do my Egyptians then do a bit more of an orangized release sort of family by family or household by household. Okay so I'm looking to do the Egyptian Gods this week and I think I need to pare this down. As much as I want to I simply cannot make it work if I go all the way back to Amun/Ra because there is too much incest/asexual reproduction that I wouldn't be able to have remotely sensible family trees. The fact that Shu and Tefnut begat Geb and Nut which begat Isis, Osirus, Nephthys, and Set who then proceeded to start fucking each other is just too complciated.

I'm going to have to do what I did with the Norse and the Greeks and just skip the primordial gods then. Which is why I have no Titans and no Mir. If I have those I have to start answering a whole lot of questions I don't want to ask.

My Egyptian family tree (that will be in my game) as it stands based on my current research is this:

Osirus(Old)+Isis(Old)=Horus (YA) and Babi(YA) (he is a little psycho and I love him so I really want him in the game)

Osirus(Old)+Nephthys(Old)=Anubis(YA)

Nephthys(Old) and Set (Old) live together, childless.

Thoth(old?)+Ma'at(old?)=Seshet

I would also like Ammit to be a character and maybe slip Bastet in as an elder. Though Bastet's identity has been so confusing as it seems over time she pulled a "Ra" and became combined with Hathor and then also with Sekhmet.

Planning out the next moves in the Sim Pantheon. The Norse gods will be pretty easy. I'm keeping it limited and not including giants. But as a child of the game Age of Mythology I feel that I must also do Egypt and hoooooooolllllly fucking shit is that some complicated mythology. Everybody is everybody's mother, father, sister, and brother at once depending on the period and region. And then on top of that I had no idea that in the later kingdom there were Greco-Egyptian gods which are just too complicated to get into.

This goofy little sims projecr has really taught me a lot about the nature of history and religion. We will never get the FULL contemporary perspective of any part of the ancient world and religion was always changing to suit people's needs.

All of that being said please send suggestions of other pantheons that can maybe make appearances. I have mainly Greek looking folks (was able to squeeze in some Afro Carribean with Amphitrite and arbitrarily made the Cyclopes black because I was tired of making only white characters). My Norse will all be...pretty Norse looking. And my Egyptians will look North African with some Nubian thrown in early in the genetic line to get some diversity.

What are some good East Asian, South American, Hindu, African or Polynesian deities I can throw in? Deities with smallish families would be ideal.

Gods dammit. Dionysus just had to go and die of starvation during a snowball fight with all of his sexy maenad slave girls!

I had to abandon an entire session where I fixed a BUNCH of relationship problems between the maenads (maidnads) that arose after I played with some extra mods.

Urgh I just want my happy bacchic polycule to functuon!
