Leave Me Alone by IDKHOW and how it fits Gravity Falls

disclaimer- this is probably not the intended purpose for this song and i do not own the song. also I haven’t posted in a month or two so the reasons are at the bottom of the post. Most songs by I Don’t Know How But They Found Me fit Gravity Falls pretty well, like New Invention and Mad IQs. But this post is about Leave Me Alone so I’m going to get to the point.

Ford had a lot of grant money, but money in the song could be a metaphor for a different kind of wealth, such as knowledge or a high IQ. Ford has plenty of all of them, but once Fiddleford left, he had no real friends. Manly Dan was never close with him, and he didn't know any other townsfolk. Ford was the most vulnerable he'd ever been in his life, completely alone and with no career thanks to Bill. He must have had some reputation in the science community for his nationally ranked paper than won him the grant money, but again, no one was there for him personally. Just the idea of his smartness.

The first line perfectly describes the scene in Weirdmagedon 1 where Ford shoots Bill and is distracted by the bell coming to life. ‘Go fly a kite until you're tangled in the hanging tree’ not super relative to Gravity Falls, but I thought it was important to include. It could be Bill telling Ford to keep trying to beat him, because it wouldn't work. Flying a kite is fun, but once it's caught in a tree there's no guarantee of getting it down. Building the portal was for a noble cause, but it once it was built there was no guarantee that it wouldn’t be used for evil. in the end it was.

‘Four in the morning but we're having such a lovely time’ could be taken literally or metaphorically. Four AM isn’t a fun time to be awake. If you're awake at four am and you're alone, you either can't sleep or you're feeling like shit. (not talking about what's going on at that time if you're not alone). In the metaphorical context I'm going to guess that having such a lovely time is sarcasm. Ford wouldn't be sleeping at four am, or any other time after he found out about Bill. Before he found out Bill was evil, he really would have been having a lovely time. In Journal three, he said that Bill would possess his body so he could work while his mind slept.

‘Mad as a hatter but a dagger and a dollar sign’ If you don't know where the saying 'mad as a hatter' came from, look it up, it's quite interesting. Bill is like the hatter's mercury, slowly poisoning Ford's mind, while ford thinks its for the best, just like how making hats is for the good of the economy and makes the people happy. The dollar sign is his grant again, because money was never an issue for him. the dagger could be the portal or Bill. The portal is a tool, for your own good. however, in the self defense classes I've been to, I've been told not to carry a knife because it can too easily be used against you. Fords metaphorical dagger (the portal) was also easily used against him. in the end it did bring him back. a dagger is a tool after all. If Bill is the dagger, it would mean that his (almost) endless knowledge is a tool, but his determination to rule the world is the blade that too easily can be turned against its wielder.

"Aristocrat, tip your hat and break your mother's heart" it's calling ford an aristocrat because he thinks he's better than everyone else. I believe that's part of the reason he never suspected Fiddleford of going behind his back to create the Society of the Blind Eye, even though he admired his brilliance. By almost completing the portal, he was breaking Fidds heart. "And when the sun comes up you'll find a brand new god" this is the best line in the song in my opinion . the sun is often used to symbolize new beginnings. the rift breaking was definitely a new beginning for Bill Cipher, the brand new god.

"They say the devil that you know is better than the devil that you don't, now I want you to leave me alone", Fiddleford knew there was something going on with Ford even before he left. Ford is the metaphorical devil that he knew, Bill Cipher is the literal devil, whom Fiddleford did not know. Fiddleford wanted to get out of there while he still had the chance. He knew what was going on with the portal, or at least he knew how it worked. The ‘devil he didn’t know’ was a complete mystery. It was safer to assume the worst, because if it wasn’t the worst, Ford wouldn’t have to hide it. ‘Oh you’re a big shot here but nobody else knows’ See first verse.

I haven’t been posting since June or so because it’s been summer break for me. Not that I have better things to do, i haven’t haven’t been on my computer as much other than to watch Netflix. Fnaf night guard thoughts

I know its obvious but we never really address the trauma that the night guards go through in fnaf. I don’t think that the characters played by players get enough recognition. Being a night guard at one of these pizzerias that’s paying minimum wage is obviously not the smartest choice, but imagine you can’t get any other jobs. If you report the killer animatronics you risk getting fired. Enduring all this stress and trauma could be the only way they can put food on the table. In many songs its questioned why the night guards come back, but they had no other options. Its this or starve on the streets.

Its midnight and I’m not proof reading this so I might add more tomorrow
