Working from home makes me realize how much time I spent away from my kids. During the day daddy and I do everything we can to distract the kids so that we can work. Now the kids know what we are up to when we give them certain snacks and do certain activities. Its a lot of guilt everyday and I make it up by giving undivided attention to both kids at the end of the day. Emilie plays 180 pieces of puzzles (3 puzzles for 60 pcs each) every night in addition to reading 4 books. My eyes are usually half closed by the time we get to the last book or puzzle, but it's nothing compared to how much time my kids have to wait for me during the day. I hope this pandemic will pass soon. . . . #covid_19 #workingfromhome #stayathome #shelterinplace #workingmomproblems #NewYorkLiving #growingupnyc #puzzles #workingfromhomewithatoddler

The silver lining of this #coronavirus thing is that now we walk home instead of taking the bus and we sing along as we walk. I make up silly lyrics and Emilie will laugh so hard and say "Mama is so silly!" I love those little moments when happiness is just innocence and company. Love you so much my Emilie girl! Finally a warm day for kids to play outside. And finally seeing Haylie wear Emilie's old sneakers running around in the very same playground and they both came down the same slides. It made me realize how quick those early years went by and taking care of the physical needs is so much easier than the emotional needs. I feel that parenting is about to get harder now.

I'm just glad that Wayne had the Presidents Day off and he could have a fun date with Emilie at the play house. I wish I had more vacation hours to spend with my loves. 馃摲 by @chenyuwen . . . #workingmomproblems #architectmom #womaninarchitecture #familiesinthecity

Emilie knows the US map by heart. She knows mommy's home state is Californa and her home state is New York. She also knows that DC is the Capital and Georgia produces peanuts. 馃ぃ馃槡馃槏 #growtoofast #proudmama #educationaltoys #floorpuzzles

Washable paint is one of those few activities that the kids can do together without fighting. I dream that one day the entire family can sit down and draw together. For now I still need to supervise actively to prevent Haylie from putting the brush in her mouth (with paint on it! 馃檲 ) . . . #workingmoms #activitiesforbabies #weekdaynights #washablepaint

We went ice fishing at #frostfest2020 and Emilie won a penguin button! If you have kids that are too young to enjoy the bumper cars on ice, this ice fishing activity would be perfect for littlekids and grownups. #growingupnyc #toddlerfunlearning

So far in 2020 I have been stuck with a monstrous cold that followed me the moment I took time off and it's been keeping me up every single night as soon as the meds wear off at 2am. Other than staring at my beautiful sleeping babies, I also look at their lovely pictures and I realize that this holiday season has been a really great bonding time for the girls. They fought a lot, of course, but they also learned to play with each other and I'm starting to see Emilie enjoying to share certain moments with her little sister Haylie, which is a GREAT progress. Raising two kids in the City is s.o. t.o.u.g.h. especially when they are this young but little moments like this remind me that it's all worth it.
