The Social Media Race: Twitter
• Old news is no news: Twitter emphasizes real-time information
• Contribute to the story: To keep people interested, add an opinion
• Keep it short: followers still appreciate conciseness
• Limit Twitter-specific syntax: Overuse of #hashtags, @mentions and abbreviations makes tweets hard to read. But some syntax is helpful.
• Keep it to yourself: The clichéd "sandwich" tweets about pedestrian, personal details were largely disliked. Reviewers reserved a special hatred for Foursquare location check-ins.
• Provide context: Simply linking to a blog or photo, without giving readers a reason to click on it, was described as "lame."
• Don't whine: Negative sentiments and complaints were disliked.
• Be a tease: News or professional organizations that want readers to click on their links need to hook the reader, not give away all of the news in the tweet itself.

Where Did I Go?
I got lost in the idea of love. Somewhere in trying to define a "we" I lost the "me" that I once knew. People say that relationships can change you, that sometimes change is for the better, but at what point is enough, enough.
I reflected back on that day, vague memories of what transpired that foggy afternoon, and all I have are broken pieces of a puzzle that I can never complete. Something that resembles a picture not depicted on the box, like the box was a facade that hid the truth. As the days go on, I try and supress the memories of a stranger I don't even recognize. Who is that? Those aren't my memories. That is not me.
It's like an old reel of film projecting on a screen, clicking, without voices, slowly incinerating and losing scenes along the way, but its like time decided to play a sick joke on me and it's turning backwards. Pieces that had been burned by the flames were born again from the ashes. As my flashbacks got increasingly clearer, the cloudier I felt. Is that really me?
I took a look at myself in the mirror. Who was I? What had I become?
Then I let myself go. I let the memory wash over me and I felt it course through my veins. The blood of the monster that rampaged through the streets. A belligerant bitch who wanted to murder all that hurt me. The green eyed monster. The sweet taste of the deadly sin was so delicious I could feel it curl around the tip of my tongue as I smacked my lips. Oh the taste of revenge was so sweet...
Bittersweet. because the lashing out of a deamon are feelings hidden.
I lost myself.
Each day I look at myself and not once had I noticed that I had left me, vacant.
This is not who I envisioned myself to be.

INTERVENTION FOR SELF
I've had a revelation. Post countless hours of thinking, I need to get a move on with my life, have a goal, and work towards it. I was going to call this a vision, however, this is me and I can define who i am. Forget vision, not concrete enough of a noun...
Vision Me:
Current Goal: Public Relations
Interests: Dance, Music, Science, Environment, Health, Lifestyle
Turn on: Intelect, Knowledge, Confidence
Non-Alcoholic drink of choice: Green Tea
Alcoholic drink of choice: Lychee Martini/Moscatto
'til next time =)

Think Different.
"Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The trouble-makers. The round heads in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status-quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify, or vilify them. But the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who (actually) do." - Jack Kerouac

R-E-S-P-E-C-T
I live by the rule of self-respect. Without it, we are pretty much nothing. At the end of the day, as selfish as this may sound, you live for yourself. Let's be honest, you face yourself day-in and day-out and there is no running from it. Thus, do what it is that makes you happy because you are the most moved by your life choices and experiences and therefore should be the one driving them.

Nom Nom Nom =d.
So I've started to cook a lot in attempts to conserve money and train in efforts to make myself a prize homemaker in the future. But in all seriousness, there's this serene feeling that washes over me when I cook (and, surprisingly, clean after) topped off with the satisfying feeling of sating someone's hunger that leaves me in an inescapable, intoxicating bliss that I am incapable of giving up.
As a result, I found some websites with recipes which I thought I would share with you all:
1. www.thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/ 2. www.101cookbooks.com/baked_goods/ 3. http://tiny-morsels.blogspot.com/ 4. http://cupcakeblog.com/
(I'll post them as I find 'em)
Toodles!

Maybe I'm Just Not That Into You.
When I find myself void of emotion, I turn to television shows and movies to help evoke them out of me. Is this normal?
At the slightest hint of a potential mishap in the "relationship" (if whatever it is is capable of being deemed one at that point), I find my emotions pack up and walk out, leaving me vacant, void, ambivalent. This could potentially be attributed to my instantaneous reaction to any form of surprise which is complete and utter dumbfounding shock. However, as much as I wish that that was just the case, sadly, I feel as if my logic trumps all when it comes to falling in love, and thus would consider myself the lone ranger. We're going to break up one day anyways. Maybe its a good thing? I mean, according to He's Just Not That Into You, if the signs point to the obvious, its best to run fast and far. However, when is it the right time to fight instead of take flight?
My emotional fix comes from films. Steering away from allowing my emotions to take hold in relationships makes it easier to get over them, but does this make my life more robotic or more logical making me stronger to move on?
I apologize for these last two posts being about emotions, and well, to get to the crux of it all, potential love really. It's just one of those perplexing phenomenons.

Romance for Suckers.
It's 1:50AM as I lie peacefully on my roommate's couch, sinking in slowly as it starts to devour me, much like everything else that happens to make its way near to or onto it (I swear it has invisible appendages which grasp anything around it to scoff down its gaping, ungrateful mouth), I receive my daily dose of news as I watch Jon Stewart applauding Helen Thomas' retirement on my break from work. Naturally, as TV goes, my entertainment was interrupted by an umpteenth amount of commercials, but one in particular caught my eye.
Now, don't get me wrong, commercials are interesting. I love nit-picking and analyzing the different subliminal messages they send, the juxtaposition they use, the unnerving amount of racism portrayed (redhouse furniture?) and well, my favourite, the Corona add about happy hour lasting till infinity on a tranquil beach (simple yet amazingly attractive) on comes an interesting commercial advertising ashleymadison.com. I don't know if you've happened to stumble upon this commercial yourself as you've flicked through the ridiculous amount of American channels on the tele but boy did this capture my attention - congratulations. America has successfully managed to create an advertisement for anything and everything humanly conceivable, morally right, or universally wrong, by social standards that is. Infidelity? Really? An advertisement PROMOTING infidelity. Hell, if your that unhappy in your marriage, what the hell was running through your head when you decided to marry this fool in the first place? or sorry when the fool decided to marry you. You know its things like this which make me hate the idea of love, marriage and coupledom. I know, I say this now but, seriously, it scares me. How do you know when this person is the person that you are supposed to spend the rest of your life with? 49% of marriages end up in divorce nowadays. People are becoming more absorbed in their work, the world is becoming so much more enticing and its becoming easier to travel around, receive and send information and to go and experience life: everyone seems to always looking for the "new and exciting", the greener grass. So how do you know whether this is the right person for you? Clearly based on statistics and research there is no secret code, at least one we haven't really figured out yet.
I say this now with every grain of skepticism. Maybe it's because I'm too young. Maybe its because I've seen love come and go that I'm starting to question the ideal mythical fantasy of "one true love". Regardless, deep down, I'm still like every other sick romantic person out there and I hope one day I'll just know and It'll feel right enough for me to fight for.
Here's a quote to consider. One of my favourites in fact:
"Gay people aren't destroying the sanctity of marriage, you people are"
Touche.
