How to download and install Sims/Lots into Sims 4 Legacy Edition

1. Download the files. If it’s not on this blog, make sure it was uploaded to the internet before December 2019.

2. Unzip the file

3. Put any SGI/HHI/householdbinary/trayitem files into you TRAY FOLDER inside the “The Sims 4 Legacy Edition” folder.

4. Put anything that ends with .package into your mods folder inside the “The Sims 4 Legacy Edition” folder.

Turn the game on and you’ll be able to find the sim/lot in your library. You will need to check the custom content box if cc was used in order to see content.

FAQ

1. Why do the files need to be older than December 2019?

The game will not let you use any file that was created with a newer version than you have installed. Legacy edition was the same as Standard Edition mid-December 2019, but after the game was updated for University, those builds will not be compatible. Before December 2019 is a safe way to make sure the files will work.

2. Why use the legacy folder and not the Sims 4 folder?

All Legacy files are kept within the Legacy game folder. The game doesn’t read the other folder.
