Pasithea is the goddess of rest, relaxation, hallucination, and meditation. She’s the youngest of the Charities/Graces, which are minor goddesses in Greek mythology. Charities/Graces are even sometimes considered to be Aphrodite’s handmaidens.

Pasithea is married to the god of sleep, Hypnos. The story goes that Hypnos was in love with Pasithea, but never made a move to talk to her. Hera asked Hypnos to put Zeus to sleep, which he initially refused. Considering Zeus almost obliterated him last time he put him to sleep. Hera then offered Hypnos Pasithea’s hand in marriage, which he immediately agreed to. Hera swore it on the Styx. Pasithea even agreed to the marriage, and they had a good life together. And Hypnos never cheated on her (A massive win in Greek Mythology).

Together they had the Oneiroi (The dream team). Morpheus, Phobetor/Icelus, and Phantasos. Morpheus was the god of dreams, taking on human forms. Phobetor/Icelus was the god of nightmares, taking on animal forms. And Phantasos was the god of dreams, taking on inanimate objects. Hypnos is said to have thousands of children, but it’s more of a metaphor. All dreams are Hypnos’s children.

Pasithea’s parents aren’t that consistent. Some sources say she’s Dionysus and Hera’s daughter, and others say she’s Zeus and Eurynome’s daughter. But it’s mostly agreed she’s Zeus and Eurynome’s daughter, since she’s a Charity/Grace.
