Silly Worm OC: Contraption

Tinker with a broad specialty, like l33t and string theory, letting her build a ridiculous variety of things.

Her limitation?

She is a rube Goldberg tinker.

She has to build elaborate, complicated and easy to fail mechanisms into their creations.

The more advanced and complex the tech, the more ridiculous the contraption.

Let's say she wants to build a laser:

She builds a laser rifle? Pressing the trigger knocks over a domino that pulls a string attached to a gear that turns and makes the gun fire.

She builds an anti endbringer laser? Pressing the trigger smacks together a cymbal that has a match attached to it, the movement of the symbol lights the match against some match strike paper, then the movement of the cymbal up causes the match to come in contact with a thermometer that starts going up. A colour detector detects the change in colour from the mercuries movement and sends an electric signal that turns on a magnet. This magnet pulls a piece of metal attached to a string. The movement of the string pulls a lever, that turns gears. The movement of the gears causes a domino to fall over onto a button that fires the device.

Every shot she has to replace the fuse and the match and teset the domino

She is actually a very serious person who is really tired of her power. She has to stay up late making these dumbass contraptions. The bags under her eyes are pretty heavy.

The PR department kept wanting her to lean into the comedy. She refuses. Eventually they realised her over serious workaholic nature only adds to the humor and so the popularity.

Watching an incredibly tired business-like woman press a trigger and have 50 bullshit things happen while she sighs just so she can teleport is surprisingly entertaining.

During the Slaughterhouse Nine arc, Vicky accidentally gets into a debate with Bonesaw about parahuman sciences. Midway through Siberian joins in, because she's annoyed they keep contradicting her theories. Ends up revealing himself as Manton to establish credibility. They start bullying him for not citing his sources properly because all of his data is from Cauldron experiments. Eventually the topic gets to Vicky and Manton objects because Vial Capes Can't Bud so How did she get the Gallant Ping? Anyway this is the result. Impromptu brain surgery, because Vic is kinda curious, y'know?

So, Amy's tattoos, right? Kinda hilarious in retrospect.

Clearly, she did them only because she (rather reasonably) assumed she's never leaving. But she did. And now Amy's trying her darnest to hide the closest thing she has in her life to creative self-expression under layers of clothing and dodge the question whenever someone inquires "who's that?" and points to the icon of her sister on Amy's arm.

Because those tattoos are the penance for a crime the sentence for which, depending on who you ask, she either already served or barely did her time.

I’m running a DnD campaign with my siblings and mom, who are all big MythBusters fans, so obviously I made Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage NPCs. Adam is a human and Jamie (JAM13) is a robot. Adam claims to have built JAM13, and is not satisfied with his inability to emote properly, but is very satisfied with his walrus-like facial hair. JAM13, however, claims to have grown Adam from a test tube and named him after the biblical figure, and says he is “clearly a very primitive approximation of a human being.” Insight checks on who is lying are useless because both of them fully believe they’re telling the truth.
