It’s Monday evening, and you’re stuck in a closet.

 Stuck, not trapped. Not coerced. Not forced. Stuck.

 And purely by your own volition too.

 Maybe it’d been a little too immature of you to spray Atsumu with his water bottle, but the yammering he refused to stop had grated on your last nerve, his loud-mouthed retelling of that ‘hot chick he hooked up with last weekend’ growing old about two seconds in, the first time he told it. Grabbing his water bottle, spraying it in his face, and then throwing it at him while he threatened to dump the rest of the contents on you just seemed like the logical solution at the time, but now with a broom handle pressing parallel to your spine you’re having second thoughts.

 The door flings open and you squint at the sudden flash of light, blinking rapidly to try and discern just who the shadowy blob standing in the doorway is.

 Hinata flashes you a winning smile, says, “’Scuse me,” far too cheerily, and then squeezes and wriggles his way in front of you, pulling the door shut behind him. Staring at you, entirely too satisfied for someone who’s two inches away from wearing a mop as a wig, he nods in satisfaction.

What does home feel like?

— for those who are seeking a place of comfort

AKAASHI’s home feels like shared comfort beneath a starry night. he seeks a shooting star everytime and makes the same wish over, and over again. it’s a constant that you’re unaware of, yet you snugle up to him even more to rid of whatever worries he may have. he smiles at you, then to the stars; silently thanking them for granting his wish.

OIKAWA’s home feels like the swaying of hips along a romantic melody. everything about this makes him want to heartwarmingly melt into a puddle— yet he keeps himself together just to whisper blossoms of love against your ear.

ATSUMU’s home feels like spoon-fed, cold sashimi at 12am. he doesn’t even need to ask you to dip the fatty tuna in soy and wasabi; the strong taste hitting his tongue like an explosion. it’s your fingertips delicately holding the base of his jaw that adds even more flavor to the shared intimacy.

HINATA’s home feels like the sound of your voice through the phone. there’s a painful distance that keeps him away from your hold, but as soon as he gets to hear you— it washes away all the homesick feeling residing in his stomach. it’s small moments like these that teaches him that home is where the heart is.

USHIJIMA’s home feels like your warmth against his chest, a comfortable silence engulfing you two. there’s nothing like reading your favorite book alongside your significant other. sometimes, he rests his head on your shoulder to place a kiss on your skin. just little things to let you know that this is comfort for him.

KUROO’s home feels like late night outings caused by spontaneous decisions. he doesn’t know why, but there’s something about sitting with you in the comfort of his car that makes 2am mcdonalds taste like royalty. it leaves a sweet aftertaste in his heart, as equally delightful as the cup of drink the two of you are sharing.

SAKUSA’s home feels like the smell of inscent sticks burning in your bathroom. he looks at the mirror and sees the bright green goo covering your faces, scrunching his nose at the silly sight. but there’s something about this that makes his heart warm and he thinks: this is where I’m supposed to be.

IWAIZUMI’s home feels like the palm of your hands. same as goldilocks and her third bowl of porridge; it’s just right. nothing else can make his heart constrict and his skin burn than the feeling of his hands intertwined perfectly with yours.

KITA’s home feels like spoken reflections around a bonfire. he always looks forward to any conversations with you, especially when they’re shared under the cold night. an exchange of marshmallows, chocolates, and crackers makes this bonfire even more comforting; but the warmth of the fire doesn’t reach his heart as much as your presence next to him.

BOKUTO’s home feels like a cozy embrace right after his games. it’s a mesh of sweat and tears, but the feeling of your cozy warmth against his overpowers the uncomfortableness of it. he never feels like a game is complete without the winning his prized possession, regardless of the outcome. and that prize was you.

YAMAGUCHI’s home feels like two layers of blankets wrapped around your tangled bodies. he’s more of a giver than a taker, but the feeling of your fingertips tracing the constellations on his cheeks has him asking for more. of course, he’ll always return the favor by peppering you with kisses full of love.

OSAMU’s home feels like umami wafting through the air. the kitchen stirs with the sound of pots and pans, along with the bubbling of savory soup. the smell of food mixed in with the feeling of your arms wrapped around his torso as he cooks, is something that makes him want to say: yes, this is our home.

KAGEYAMA’s home feels like steaming hot cocoa on a winter night. he notices the chocolate mustache on your upper lip— and with tender fingers he wipes it off clean. it’s that small moment of contact that sends electricity through his veins and to his heart.

KENMA’s home feels like the soft shuffling of blankets meshing with the sound of rain. the coldness of his fingers against your skin contrasts with the warmth that’s constricting his heart. it makes him feel safe and sound, so he tightens his hold on you as if to say: i never want to let go of this.

DAICHI’s home feels like post-nightmare cuddles. although he is known for his independency, he won’t hesitate to let himself fall into your arms whenever he gets caught by his fears and worries. you’re his safe haven, and everything else that makes his anxieties dissipate.

TSUKISHIMA’s home feels like whipped cream blending with the taste of your lips. he’s an absolute sucker when it comes to any ‘strawberries and cream’ dessert. but top it off with a kiss from you? he feels like he’s hit home run.
