So, is it - is - this another one of those cases where… is this all one theory, or two? These are two theories now. First one seems pretty… reasonable, yup? Yup. hi can I ask you more about how/in what way puppet history lore in s7e1 goes "the creativity is stifled by the sponsors?" I watched that ep twice but didn't get that impression, and you're the second person who mentioned this. Is it because the prize this season is sponsored, and there's this new puppet who "takes care" of the puppets afterwards? Bc those are the only things I can think of but to me that's just dr. Sprat being evil I don't see how that would make the professor less creative or tell him what to do.

It’s just my theory on what might play out later in the season! I honestly have no idea, I just caught a vibe from the sponsored pills and the new doctor character, yes. To me it seemed like they might be hinting at the pill sponsor causing the Professor and Ryan to forget it all (like the punny name of the pills), start acting not like themselves or something. So maybe not the sponsor controlling them directly but more like brainwashing? Idk haha! I’m excited to see where this season goes! Thanks for asking 😁

Puppet History season 7 ep 1 spoilers below:

The things that really caught my attention about the “lore” of this episode:

1. Mention of ads, sponsor relations

2. Phorgetytol (lmao)

3. Feeling of vague but imminent danger imparted by Estranged Producer Shane Madej

All of those things just gave me really post- WatcherGate feels. Idk if anyone else knows what I mean. But the rebellion against being on Youtube and reliance on sponsors being a major reason why they wanted to get away from it…yeah. Feels like they went a bit topical with the lore here.

I wonder if we’ll see themes of sponsors controlling the creative choices the Professor wants to make this season.

Why would we want to laugh at jokes where the punchline is that women aren’t? Why would we want to make jokes about being small and childish and incapable?
