Update: I made better-res ones
Top to bottom: Davy, Stephenson, and Faraday

SORRY FOR THE POOR RESOLUTION but hear me out -
Davy lamp keychain blind box (and there's a 1/6 chance of getting Stevenson / Clanny instead)

A #HistSci Bibliography Project
VER. 1 is here!
Over the past 8 years I've accumulated a lot of stuff on the history of science, and after seeing @raffleshitposting 's fantastic bibliography on Raffles, I thought I'd throw my hat into the ring and give it a go as well!
This biblio took about 2, 3 weeks to complete. In order to keep the project manageable, I've kept certain sections sparse for now, and I hope to add on to them in the future.
Happy to discuss recommendations / suggestions for improvement in the comments below, or through DMs.

First digital drawing since finals - huzzah!
I'll highly recommend Dr. Kim of London, which is available on Webtoons. Unfortunately Davy dies before the events of the story takes place, but I really do think he would've fit into the whacky cast of characters!
One more thing - I'm currently working on another project (not art-related) which I hope to get out by the end of the month. In the meantime - hope you guys enjoy this! 🙏
( additional note : Autodesk Sketchbook doesn't have great default fonts, the one I used is the "Digital Strip" from Blambot )

(folds arms) I am making this video to speak directly to you, to address the concerns that I do not love my second wife as much as John or my first wife. In this video essay, I -

(Fr tho, bro's so fixated on how she will make HIM happy but at no point does he say how HE can make her happy
Also "neither Rank fortune or beauty have had weight for the occassion", girl you just got sacked from your Governor role in Java, you're not some glittering jewel)

Tomfoolery
concept: d&d game based around raffles and his naturalist friends getting into supernatural hijinks while trying to collect specimens in uncharted jungles, ignoring advice from shamans/dukun in the area. tomfoolery ensues.

They should've gotten Leyden to do the poetry for Raffles and Gillespie to do the poetry for Farquhar (you know, cause according to that one musical Gillespie and Farquhar are bros)
I don't think Gillespie is known for poetry or even flowery writing but I think he will be able to come up with something

sometimes i think i'm unhinged and then i read ng yi sheng's article on artistic responses to singapore's 1819 colonisation

I'm convinced there is some unspoken hierachy that the Raffles statues follow, and it's something like:
1. Original
2. Polymarble

.
.
998. Fort Canning Statue
If there is anyone that will relentlessly bully other copies of themselves, it's definitely Sir Stamford Raffles.

the new statue of him always makes me giggle bc he looks so disgusted at whatever he's reading

Rollo's loophole to the "no female servants" rule

Text

Upon learning of his grotesque ailment, the commander is promptly recalled from his post and put on the next ship to England, where London's foremost doctors are tasked with his rehabilitation, while the East India Company seeks to get to the bottom of how exactly a blunder of such magnitude was allowed to occur.
Rollo is not as all pleased with the current situation, having been effectively put under house arrest, tended to by exclusively male servants (for, it was claimed, his condition would most certainly offend the sensibilities of the fairer sex), and made to suffer through endless regiments of presses, baths, and purgatives.
Worst of all, Rollo had a hunch that most of the "servants" were merely agents, waiting for him to keel over before they mailed his body off to the grubby hands of their eagerly-awaiting masters....
